I've taken taxis all over the world, and can think of nowhere except BKK where the drivers just refuse to take you someplace, unless they have a very good reason. It happens more and more. The locals just put up with it. I see locals coming out of the shopping malls and having to go through the same nonsense.

Thats quite a rant. Why do you feel so strongly when she shares some degree of culpability.

While it sounds like her best days are behind her with regard to this profession (if there actually were any "good" days for her) maybe she should reconsider this profession or at least TRY and be accommodating (and make it work no matter how shitty) if she actually has no choice but to continue to hook.

AND, if in fact she SHOULD actually consider other options, as her asking price and HIS description does suggest, doesn't this mongers action reflect a "market driven" type reality?

After all, many people (and many of us no doubt) mis-believe we possess charm, looks, etc, that our salaries should be higher, we should be more revered, etc but the real world (markets) quickly disabuses all of us of those misperceptions.

I was recently in Singapore and had to ask many taxis to bring me to my next meeting, which wasn't even far away. Most seemed to like cruising around the financial centre and pick up "short distance" customers rather than go out of the centre. None of the taxidrivers gave me a reason why they were not interested in my destination.

When I get to the room and a gal won't DFK, won't DTY, does not want to be fingered, and won't give a BBBJ, or stops every 15 sec to spit in a tissue, I am not going to be happy with the service. I will call off the session and remunerate a small amount depending on how far the session went. Normally it has not gone very far, so I give the gal 100 baht and leave. I don't get angry at the gal. Then I ask her if she has seen a "sex" movie or if she has ever had sex with someone she loves. Of course the answer is always yes. Then I tell her that is the way I expect her to have sex with me, and that this is what many Farangs expect. Now if the attitude is bad and there is no service level, I will probably give nothing, just get out of there the way Tony did. Have not posted in a long time. Just arrived in BKK and I'm staying at Khaosan Road. Hotel is Buddy Lodge, I stayed here about 10 years ago and it was girl friendly then and appears to still be. Front desk can be bypassed just walk straight towards the elevator as if you're going into Brick Bar but go up to the room instead. What is the scene like at KSR these days? I will be hunting in Gullivers Tavern for freelancers but I haven't been here in a few years. Can anyone recommend other places with freelancers? If it is bad I guess I will have to move to Sukhumvit.
