Saturday night I met up with a friend of mine who lives in Bangkok. We went for a meal at some non-descript production line type restaurant in terminal 21. I really like the open air places better, there seems to be a sterile feel to these mall eateries. About 9 ish we decided to have a look in at some bars in Soi Cowboy. However, in my case I arrived late, just needed some taxi money (hotel was prepaid) so my leftover ringgits came in handy. Changed the MYRs, grabbed a cab (after agreeing on a B35 flagdown + meter, of course) and went there to crash. What I don't like is feeding scams, and BKK airport exchange is one of them. Only one comment: as the girls' names are indeed sometimes very difficult to understand (and / or remember) ; try to get her number and mention that in your report. Fare to Silom was under 400 baht which includes the 50 baht airport pick up charge, I rounded up to 400 when I paid. When I went back to BKK a week later the hotel ordered me a taxi for a fixed fare of 400 baht. Then when I landed in BKK a week later after been in Phuket I went to Level 1 and paid an all in fare (including airport pick up & tolls) of 1500 baht to Pattaya. On way back to BKK from Pattaya, hotel ordered me a taxi for a fixed fare of 1200 baht.
I used the BTS & MRT a lot when I was in Bangkok, but I didn't fancy the train to/from the airport because of lugging my luggage around. I understand it is a decent service, but the difference between a taxi and the train might only be approx 200 baht, seen I was on holidays I paid the extra. Hope this helps.

A[/QUOTE]Superich 1965 has different rates at different outlets. The best rates are only to be had at the Rachadamri and Silom branches.
At Rachadamri ther is also another Superrich company (website superrichthailand. Com) with sometimes even slighty better rates.
Another option is Vasu on the corner of Sukhumvit at soi 7/1. They offer rates slightly worse than Superrich but better than most others.
Landed around 1am Thursday the 28th. Cleared immigration and customs quickly. Exchanged a few bucks at the airport to have local money. So as you would guess. Not a good rate. A little more than 27 baht to 1 USD. In Bangkok we found a place that was 29. 92 baht to 1 USD. Went outside and found the taxi cabs wanted 1000 baht to take my buddy and I to the nana plaza area. Went down stairs to metered taxi and went with them. The tolls were 25 baht at the first one and the second one was 45 baht. So, just over $2 us for tolls. The taxi was 210 baht. About $7 USD. Taxi fare, tolls and tip. $10 USD for my buddy and I from the BKK airport to the nana plaza hotel area. We checked into our rooms at the white orchid. 700 baht each. It's a dive hotel. But cheap. After getting settled in and cleaning up we headed out and picked up a couple of girls in front of the nana plaza hotel. My girl was in a hurry and kept complaining about being tired. She did have an amazing body and that was one of two factors that kept her in my room. The other was the fact it was close to 3am and the girls were heading home.
