My Last Trip Report. Day 1
Yes, I am in Rio now. I arrived here yesterday (Good Friday) morning.
The good news first: 1) The trip down here was a breeze. Getting the Covid 19 RPT test results was easy once I found a small lab that performed the test in house, I had my results in 8 hours. The MIA airport security was fast too since there were so few travelers on a Thursday night. My American Airlines flight was 3/4 empty. I had booked an extra leg room seat and my row was empty, so I had an entire row of 4 seats to recline on. During the dinner service I washed down an Ambien sleeping pill with two small complimentary bottles of vodka and bloody Mary mix and fell asleep while watching some terrible action film.
The next thing I knew the plane was an hour out of RJ. Brazilian Immigration and Customs was fast too, except they questioned every passenger in the "nothing to declare line" and a few lucky passengers had their bags scanned. Not me. So, in and out of the RJ airport in 15 minutes. My hotel had my room ready. They even upgraded me to a room with a view overlooking Copacabana Beach. Since most restaurants are closed by gov't order, I had lunch by the pool at my hotel. The grilled Octopus was great. That's most of the good stuff for day 1.
Oh yeah, Copacabana Beach was not empty. I walked from the Fairmont to the Marriott or about halfway. There were a lot of people out walking, running, and in the ocean. Numbers most likely would have been 10 to 20 times larger if not for the edict, but a lot of people were out and refused to stay at home. I saw a fair number of very nice-looking girls on the beach – pretty face, natural everything, and thin all over. Ha Ha. I was hungry.
The bad news: most everything is closed down. I whatsapped a few Prive's (oily massage parlors to guys who don't want to RTFF) that I thought had some pretty good-looking girls on their web sites. One responded right away, the other two this morning. All three said they were closed, and that they would contact me when they reopened. So maybe on Monday April 5, but I have now heard from several reliable sources in Rio that the closure edict has been extended until the 9th. Damn! I was really looking forward to visiting the top 4 Termas while I was in town. But, Oh Well. All you can do is "Roll with it. " I am still glad I am here.
So, the Good Friday situation was not good. I could have persevered, but I just ran out of steam late Friday afternoon and did not feel like initiating any calls to the escort girls. I fell asleep around 10 pm and slept straight through to 8 am.
First day comparisons, although not a fair comparison in any way, here is my take: Copacabana is a much nicer beach than Pattaya beach, but it is much easier to get laid and a lot more fun in Pattaya at the present moment. This is obviously not a fair comparison because nobody can get into Thailand without doing the 14-day quarantine. The Brazilian girls I have seen so on the beach and in my hotel look very good. I repeat, VERY GOOD! So, I remain upbeat and am looking forward to tomorrow.
Saturday – I woke after a real sound sleep. It was a sunny bright new day.
