Pattaya Baht bus fare is like this -

Jomtien to the intersection of Dtai and 2nd Road is 10B.

There to the dolphins (or places in between like Big C) is 10B. North of dolphins is another 10B out to the market - so let's say Jomtien to Naklua market = 30B

Up either intersection 2nd Dtai (south road), 2nd Klong (central), 2nd Nua (north) to Suk is 10B.

Never been to the darkside (other side of Suk) so I can't say anything about that.

It hasn't been 5B for anyone since about July 2008 when the gas prices went outa sight. C'mon people - I SPILL THAT MUCH AT HOME - what's the value haggling over a lousy 60 CENTS US (20B) (the exercise in currency conversion to other than $$US is left to the reader)

I know this topic has been debated but if anyone is interested in taking private Thai language lesson in the Pattaya Tai, area near the Big C, off Sukhumvit give me a PM. I just trying to drum up some business for my teacher.

Having spent some days in Bangkok to begin with, I headed over to SoL(among other places) for some dirty exercise with two girls...and I have to say that the place appealed to me - or well, the concept.

My question is if there is any simillar place in Pattaya with more open spaces where one can enjoy all sorts of nasty things while satisfying any voyeur / exhibitionistic kinks one might have?

Lately I've found the Beach Rd scene to be shut down often - no girls, lots of cops. The few girls I have run into have told me the roundups have started up again on a big scale. I saw something on TV about it as well.

I don't know if any of you remember those months a couple of years ago when there wasn't a girl on the beach most of the time, but perhaps we were too complacent about things loosening up since then. The other night I walked down the beach and there wasn't a single female - just a few gangs of young male thugs lurking around. So much safer for the tourist!

On a related note the town is utterly dead.

The recent conversation about Beergarden has me wondering where the freelancers in Pattaya hang out now that the Beach Road seems to shut down. Beergarden in Bangkok is a big favourite of mine and I much prefer the vibe from freelancers in discos, bars etc than go-gos.

Any suggestions appreciated.

I should clarify that its not as bad as it was a couple of years ago - yet. The girls are just limited to certain times of day when the cops aren't out, and must be ready to run away at any moment.

The other night when there were no girls on the beach, I looked on Walking Street to see if any of them went there - but no, I didn't see more than half a dozen girls who looked like freelancers there, and none of the beach road type. I remember last time even when the Beach really was shut down tight, I never saw those girls in Walking Street. It was like they just disappeared (perhaps many or most of them were in jail for a few months).

I don't think its all that likely we'll see a Beergarden style establishment take the place of the Beach, since for example the Beergarden in Bangkok only ever has a few girls in it. The Beach used to have hundreds in its hayday.

Where precisely on the Beach rd do the girls hang out? Just had a read, minutes after release the girls returned to work Beach rd and recoupe lost wages:D
