Cali Reports

Before I visited Cali for the first time last year I read the boards to gather info on hotels close to the entertainment. I settled on Aparta Hotel del Rio and ended up very happy with the decision. The total bill was $320 bucks for 5 nights in a large junior suite. I had read about the potential chica fee, but me and my other two buddies were able to avoid it. They had some cute, friendly girls working the front desk and I chatted them up and tipped them 10K cop several times because I was so pleased with the hotel and service. Plus, I had a great time in Cali on my first visit and people always treat you better when you are relaxed and smiling.

If you know the Hotel does try to charge visitor fees, it might make sense to slide a few pesos their way when you check in. I had an incredible girl from one of the casas come over and spend 6 hours with me in the late afternoon and I called down to have the desk girl order us some food as we spent the entire afternoon in bed. Again, I threw her a few extra pesos. After a few hours of sex, that Frisbee fried chicken tasted damn good. They give you a couple packets of honey to pour over the chicken (delicious).

Funny thing is I ran into this same girl from Cali in MDE last month.

When I was at Dr. Amor the same guy got me hooked up with a total gfe. He was good enough to arrange for the girl that I liked that was busy at the time to see me at a later specified time.

Hi fellas!

I have a buddy that just moved to Cali; I'd like to go out there for some mongering, but would like to know how safe it is for a relatively experienced mongerer with conversational Spanish skills. Please compare to Bogota and Medellin.

Rodeo[/QUOTE]Try not to monger by yourself, stay out of the bad areas, dress down, dont stick out, no drunk wandering and you SHOULD be okay,, In general not nearly as safe as Medellin.. im not so sure about Bogota but I heard Bogota like any other big city can get pretty shady. Cali as a whole is still the most dangerous of the main cities in Colombia though.. more unemployment and more poverty.

The only thing in Cali is to make sure you have some ID with you as there is a more milatary presense there than any other city I have been to in Colombia. The police also make ramdom stops on cars with more then two people inside.

Also liked Cali as you get a bigger bang for your buck there, and a good sample of all the colors ,from white to black,and inbetween.

I plan to be in either Cali or Medellin pending on the flight costs and schedule.

Would not mind having a few beers and visiting the casas with fellow members.

Cali is for sure a "hotter" city than Medellin, and I don't mean the weather.

Cali is great, it's fun, but you do need to take care.

Can someone please educate me on how safe it is for mongering alone in Cali? Is there a "tourist" area like Zona Rosa where a newbie to Cali could monger easily without undue threat given the average level of common sense and caution? Please compare to Bogota and Medellin if possible. I've got a friend who just moved there and is loosely into mongering but, likely would not accompany me all the time. Planning a trip for maybe April or May for 4 days or so.

Rodeo[/QUOTE]I was in Cali last week for 10 days, I think did not see one gringo the entire trip except the guy who rented the apartment. If you stay in the north it is safe, you will have no problems as long as you are not a drunk belligerent idiot. I am not a big fan of Medellin and although I have not been back there in a long time, I think the large influx of gringos is more likely to attract Colombians who will take advantage of them.

So in Cali it is very unlikely to find spoiled girls, opportunistic cab drivers, and other undesirables sizing you up.

South Cali is also fun, but you need to keep your guard up at night.

If your spanish is bad I would avoid Cali though, not for safety but just do to the fact that almost no one speaks english. Many of the girls I banged pro and non-pro claimed they never even met an english speaking person before. Alot of the folks in the city have immigrated from rural areas so unlike most paisas, even their spanish is not that great.

I am also visiting surrounding cities. In the past, I have found most of the real gems in the smaller hubs.
