The real issue of course is may be not whether someone is legally married but whether there's a chance some enraged jealous guy will pop up. If a chica is still legally married but has been abandoned for years and hasn't even seen the baby daddy in a long time it hardly seems like an issue, on the other hand an ex novio who has no legal claim but is still very jealous and lives in the area ought to be a red flag. Despite the fact she is technically single and well within her rights.
95% of the Dominican men don't give two fucks about their women. Using fly miles
Has anybody tried to get to POP from the USA via Continental using their United fly miles?
I am finding nothing but headaches getting open fly dates and such. First I called United, who could not find me anything in a two week time span one month out. Then I called Continental. C tells me the Newark to POP segment is wide open. Getting to Newark is where the bottle neck is from my local airport.
Has anybody confronted this, and if so, how did you get through it.

Same here!

Blackbeard's for females
This may sound like a silly question but a female friend ask me if there is a place in the Dominican Republic that is basically a Blackbeard's for women. I know that when in Sosua there were older women with young men and I told her about Sanki Panki ect. I would guess some place kind of private with guys available like BB.
I don't know how serious she was but I told her I would ask.

The men there do treat their women just like any other men all over the planet. They like their women alot.
I think, because of economic reasons, more of their women are working as hookers to make money. Which is understandable. We are all God's children, why not treat these folks with equal respects.

Well, what the hell, it free, right. Pack peanut butter sandwich and I plan to sleep in the airport for 12 hours.

BBL
Yes, it is possible. I have a peso account with La Nacional and a USD account with BHD. I just keep a small amount in each account for emergencies.
The peso account with La Nacional was very easy to open. I went to the office on avenida bolivar at sanchez with my passport. Within 30 minutes the account was open and I had a debit card in hand. The USD account with BHD is another story. I will say most, because I did not go to every bank in Santo Domingo, banks will have to run a credit check on you before you can open a USD account. I did the application at BHD and about two months later the paper work was processed and I was able to open an account.
If you have a cedula, which I doubt, you can open any type of account the same day.
The pesos account with the debit card is very handy. When I arrive in SD I just deposit the USD I brought with me. During my stay I just withdraw pesos as needed. There is no bank ATM fee as this is a Dominican Republic account.

It is possible to get to POP in 10-13 hours depending on the carrier from San Francisco. That is, if they allow you to book a flight. Continental says there is room all the way there and back but the star alliance forces me to book through United and they say there are no seats. Go figure.
Kinda pisses me off that the room is there but they won't allow me to use my miles during a 2 week time window.

Yes, the debit card is handy as you say. Only problem is BHD don't have too many ATMs on the North Coast (don't know about elsewhere).
