Seems you have some good information to share. If you get a chance, it would be good to hear more about your experiences and insights.
Yeah man, been around the block in Rio more than a few times. Been places and done things I'm sure no other gringo has. What would you like to know?
Can anyone on the ground answer definitively?
1. What are the new curfew hours?
2. Indoor dining allowed?
3. Termas in the daytime?
Thanks!
Found some flash drives in an old backpack I used to take to the beach.
They would be in the triangle 7 days a week. Its amazing to see who many are still working, how many moved the the states and some who just faded away. Almost every girl in that montage has a cool story about what happened to them since Help closed.

I've run into to former Helpee girls in Washington, DC, at Brazilian restaurant that was a few blocks from my house. Have also run into them in the NJ area. The NYC Brazilian Day Festival is like a freaking Help reunion!
Cheers.

Found some flash drives in an old backpack I used to take to the beach.
Counting photos from left to right, I'm fairly certain the great looking girl on the left shot some porn scenes. Hell, it's likely some others in your photo album did as well. Back in the 2000's, it was common to pick up a Brazilian porn DVD and say "I did that chick in Rio" or "my buddy did that chick". LOL.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I miss those blue sequined walls and all the girls that sat in front of them.
Just curious, where did you take the photo of the stunner in the wedding day garter and g-string ensemble? How did that outfit come to be?
Motel carbonara in bangu is recommended.
Rihanna noir and I had a great afternoon there.
That 80 reais per hour rate is probably for locals in bangu.
She does seem to charge her Gparena clients more, though. And she charges more in her PA ads than in Vivolocal. Something to keep in mind, too, I guess, LOL.
Figured I'd share what I know about getting a COVID test in Rio for return to the USA Unlike Brasil, the USA Only requires an antigen test which is faster and cheaper. I got mine at Pacheco pharmacy in Centro. It's at Rua dos Andradas 41 where it meets Buenos Aires. Nice, stylish old-fashioned type pharmacy with large wood & glass cabinets. Cost is are $120 and you get results in about 10 minutes. Next day and even same-day appointments were available. The USA Entry requirement is 3 calendar days (antigen or PCR) as opposed to 72 hours in Brasil (PCR only). I was tested at 3:00 pm and traveled 3 days later at 11:25 pm which was about 80.5 hours later with no problem. There's an app you can download called VeriFly which allows you to complete check-in requirements in advance. When you're done you get a checkmark screen you can show at the airport to speed things up. Otherwise, you'll need to complete a 1 page attestation at the airport. Also of note is if you plan to use VeriFly, your test needs to be within a 72 hour window rather than 3 calendar days as described above. You upload a photo of your test result in the app and are approved / denied after a quick review. Hope somebody finds this useful.
https://covid19.healthdata.org/brazil?view=resource-use&tab=trend&resource=all_resources
I was curious what specifically transpired on the 26th when many restrictions were supposed to be lifted in Rio. Thanks though.
Sure man, no problem. I remember Subway and Sao Bento. I'd pass through there every so often but never pulled anything. I too liked Praca Maua, especially Florida. . . .
Do you remember Aquarius on Rua Acre? That's gone too. Club Afrodite which is kitty corner from 210 on Uruguiana between Presidente Vargas and Marechal Floriano is worth a look. 210, 13, Vanessa 05, and 119 Rua Alfandega all have the same owner. I like 13 the best personally but heard 119 has been good lately. Don't like their steep ass stairs though, fall and break your neck like at 03 Leandro Martins. Better not come out of there drunk LOL. There's a newer place at Praa Monte Castelo 26 where I've seen some nice ones. There's a Smart Fit gym on the same street and a per kilo restaurant that's decent.
Man, your recollection is pretty good!
Aquarius on Rua Acre, was an OK tier-2 terma (in its hayday) and had the odd gem to be found, once in while, but I always thought it was too dark to properly suss out talent. But on the other hand, it did provide some pretty nice cover for groping on occasion. But my Rio buddy, use to session with girls from there all the time.
If you walked along and go west on Av. Marechal Floriano (from the corner of Rua Acre), dotted in and around your stroll west, you'd find several of these 2 or 3-tier "blue collar" boates and termas, even still today. Many of them have no name, just a door number (and not even that at times).
Remember on the corner of Rua Acre and Av. Marechal Floriano, the American Bar?, I think it was called. Don't think it's still there, but the only reason it comes to mind was the gem GDP with the "Dr. Suess Christmas hat", that give an all time great festive session.
Not sure if some of those Centro clubs, where around as far back as Bar Florida, Aquarius on Rua Acre or even (the legendary) 85 Rua Buenos Aires, and if so, perhaps under another named incarnation. Centro de Lazer 13 and 15, U24, U210, MV30 are long standing centro establishments. Leandro Martins 3 and 5 (now called Vanessas).
U210,13, Vanessa 05, and 119 Rua Alfandega, I believe the owners name is Antonio. I think, he may also own, 116/118 Rua Conciecao (the ex-infamous "secret boate".
For most MBs that know many of the P4P centro establishments well, going up and down the stairwells, as always been an ongoing, long standing complaint. Never fallen, but I've come close countless times. And don't get some MBs started on the infamous spiral stairs at 85 Rua Buenos Aires...kkkk.
The Praca Maua luncheonettes (a favorite of mine), were pretty awesome back then, when Praca Maua area had tons of construction work happening. Many of the "blue collar" luncheonettes (if you got there early enough and there was still food), allowed you to load up your plate on carbs (ie. , pasta, potatoes, rice and peas...etc) and then gave you one choice of meat. Which they doled out very sparingly. Sometimes, you didn't need to eat for the rest of the day.
Today, Kilo restaurants have taken over and are way more expensive, but way better quality food. Centro Kilo restaurants, are still a better are R$/kilo option than most Copa or Zona Sul, kilo places during the lunch hours, especially if you happen be sessioning downtown.
FWIW, even today, there may well still be a small number of these "blue collar" venues dotted about, although your YMMV w/r to fun and/or gems to be found.
So the lesson is...for the adventurous, it can be a lot of fun and rewarding, taking some time to suss out, Praca Maua (or Centro) and the surrounding areas.
Many of the boates, termas or clubs, ONLY open early evening to late night. So be careful and mindful of where you are!

85 BA was my favorite spot in Centro. I was seriously unhappy when they closed. They opened briefly across the street at 80 BA but it didn't last long. Didn't have 5 floors either. I did the Copa / ZS thing many years ago but Centro / ZN has been my realm ever since. Do you remember Face Club on Rua Quitanda / Ouvidor? It only lasted a short time but it was nice. More upscale than Cancun or 65 at the time. Had my birthday there in 2013 and Mr. Catra (RIP) performed, it was dope!
My thinking on all "trash" spots is "on any given day". That's part of the thrill, not knowing who you might see. I've seen girls in VM one day and Monte Carlo the next. Literally. And vice versa!
There are still a few places that are all you can eat (sem balanca) on Rua Sete de Setembro. It's $13 reais with 2 pieces of meat. A steal!
Did you ever go to Niteroi next to Caixa Economica? They called it New Jack City LOL. I miss that place too. Room 326 had some dimes. Straight hood though, we'd all go to baile funks together and have a blast. Good times.
Seems that my field report from just before the pandemic never got sent. I had a great time hitting up the prives. I stayed in a VRBO apt. Right on Atlantic, across from the beach. Almost around the corner was Copa 583. Let me make it clear, I go for quantity, not the highest quality. A guy at the corner was handing out coupons for a short session for 30 RS. I tried it once just to get started. There was a selection of 5 chicas, all young and cute. It was a bit rushed, but Ok. On future trips there, I "splurged" for a 60 Rs session. The other area I tried were the many downtown prives, near Metro Carioca station. I'd never see anything like it, what looked like normal office buildings, 20 stories high, had prives mixed in with normal commercial offices. The room numbers in the forum posts were often still accurate, but several buildings had guys handing out coupons with the exact current office numbers. One escorted me to the 13th floor to make sure I found it. I was a little apprehensive being that the building was a bit deserted above the first few retail floors, but all was good (it was about 11 AM) Typical rate also ran 60 rs. Will be glad to answer questions if you PM me.

Next is Joyce Oliveira, first met her at Helpee, then she went to QuatroQuatro, and from there she started doing porn. I heard a rumour that she died. Anyone know anything about that?
The third babe is Barbara, first met her at Helpee, then she moved onto QuatroQuatro, while there she did porn (HipHopBadGirls).
Finally are dvd covers for BlackBootyCam & SexyRioGirls. I probably saw all those chicks at either Helpee, Meia Pataca, Terraco Atlantica or Hoe Beach at one time or another. Back in the good ole' days, LOL!
Cheers.

AA has a flight from Miami to GIG leaves at 11 PM so 72 hours if you leave on a Thursday is Monday at 11 PM which is impossible to do so you have to get the test on Tuesday during the day it doesn't get to the lab until Tuesday night and you get results Thursday morning, very tight especially if you don't live in Miami. But the AA website says 72 hours from when you board the plane on your first leg to GIG. So if you take the test on Monday at 5 PM and your first leg to Miami is at 1:30 PM they will accept this even though it's more than 72 hours from 11 PM your actual flight to Brazil. I just wanted to mention this.

Of course he met her at one of the usual Copacabana haunts. I have told his story before. They had 2 kids (one which no way could be his). Warned not to get married. He said they had a strong bond though. Moved her to the States, she cheated on him while he was away working, and he is the one on the hook for payment. By now he only has maybe 3 or 4 more years of payments to go.

The Face Club (aka. Sagitariu's?) on 74 Rua Quitanda, maybe, but I don't recall. And was Face Club, later reincarnated as the present day Terma 81 on Rua Quitanda?

Some MBs even considered it as a must visit, top world cat-house.
Last time I went, it must have been about 3-4 weeks, just after it was demolished. What a shock it was, seeing that pile of rumble. Should have probably RTFF. Not a complete loss as I always enjoyed the ferry ride to/from Niteroi.
