Prior to that the scene opened in mid-afternoon and the girls were unashamedly drifting from one place to the other in search of custom, willing to go out for dinner with you and/or act as your tourist guide - and the prices were moderate, kept down by the vastness of the supply. Then came a period of penury during which only a much smaller stock of regulars, who had paid through the nose for fictitious Turkish marriages, worked the establishments. The girls were essentially pimped by the establishments who had no interest in them offering "private services" or for that matter keeping too high a profile that could attract dangerous attention to their place of work. These days...

...we have apparently moved into a third phase in which privateerers with Russian/Ukranian/Moldovan/Azerbaijani passports once again abound. They seem untied by the establishments as evidenced by the fact that on a couple of occasions a waiter even followed me and the girl to an hour-hotel to stake the restaurant's claim to a kickback in return for my custom. The problem is, reflecting the higher prices, etc. back in the FSU the girls' quality is not high and they are more tricky than I have ever experienced them. (Maybe this is a consequence of oversupply, come to think? High-end providers will in that case lower their asking price - low-end providers will try to cheat...)

My first example is not particularly egregious: I went to Irmak in the mid afternoon and picked up Olga, a natural blonde in her mid-20s. Again, as a "die hard", I tried Villa China because I was confident this time to get a better treatment than my first one.
