If you are a newbie to Rio, you might want to start your trip in the middle of Copacabana. If you are staying for more than a week, you can decide to move to Barra because you want something different after five or six nights in Copa.

There is live music at Perola Negra, fridays late like 22 h to 04 h, and probably other nights.

I doubt they will let you jump in with the main band, but money talks. During the off hours I am certain you could figure a way in.

Generally in barra, near posto 1, there are lots of live bands on the beach.

I would suggest there is more likely to be more and more local live music out towards recreio, where papatinho, a popular local rapper / surfer lives, and where one ISG member who shall remain secret (who had coined the 'secret terma') works for papatinho, who lives in some cheap surfer apartment, and just wants to surf and rap, his success notwithstanding.

This secret ISG member also does work for the pineapple brand of rappers, which is a big influencer.

Count me in to jam on drums. I have always wanted to play more drums which I did for 7 years in the band. We're on a mission from God near Cidade de Deus!

Although not my absolute favorite (that would be 4 x4), it was one of my favorites. And it was my Sunday go to in Rio. Had some of my best sessions ever there!
