Perla of Sosua
Can anybody give me an update on Perla de Sosua?
I have stayed at this hotel several times. Located behind the Popular Bank, it is on a deadend street. Rooms are clean, but it is an older hotel, older furniture. Price offsets the higher end hotels like the New Garden or Cayena. It is centrally located, chica friendly, quiet. One of my favorite places to stay in Sosua.
Poor guy, haven't you been paying attention? Maybe you should just worry about yourself, instead of looking for comrades to share in ignorance. If you can't hang in a discussion that's your problem. You don't need no followers.
Not sure if your being argumentative and / or attacking just this member and / or other members with this post.

I have never been to the DR so I'm asking those who go frequently. It looks there is a good chance the Mayweather / Pacquiao fight might actually happen in May. If it does. Would there be any place in Sosua that would show the fight? .
Thinking of doing a "Fight" party in Sosua, if they show fights there. Does anyone know if it would likely be shown?

Rainy Sosua
Yesterday around 1 PM the rain started to come down and it pretty much rained all night. Today around 2 PM some sunshine came out and the Chicas where pouring into town like crazy. Herds and herds of them where pounding the pavement and making the rounds a rout the Strip. All here for Super Bowl weekend.
Tonight at 8 PM Rumbas was getting very crowded. It was like night and day compared to last Thursday night. Unfortunately it has started raining again. Live from Sosua!
Remember last year this time. The weather was beautiful for weeks and when Super Bowl came, it rained cats & dogs.
I remember reading on one of these forums about someone going for a boat ride in a lake / lagoon in Nagua. I looked for the post but cannot find. Would the posting person please paste a link here or send me the link via a private message? I may try the lake trip if I get to go next month.
Thanks in anticipation.
I think it was me that posted that trip. You will find a post on the Sosua forum dated 09/08/14. The lake is called Laguna Gri Gri. It's a nice boat ride 2-3 hours in the scorching sun so take a cap and sun protection. The trip goes to the ocean and makes two stops at two nice beaches and to a nice beach called la piscina de Bermudez and to La Cueva de las Golondrinas. They may gringo tax you. If they ask 1000 pesos tell them you only have 500. Don't pay pay more than 700 pesos. I think I got it down to 500 but I attempted to walk out showing the money I had in my hands and then the boat rider agreed. It's difficult to tell what the actual price is cause I did not see anything posted on the price for the ride.

I watched the first at Rumba. Super packed and crowded for free. I watched the last one at Morua Mai at the end of the strip for free. The place was empty, and I was conveniently finishing dinner when the fight started (good timing) so I stayed put.
Much appreciated.
Thanks!
Tempoecorto,
I made a mistake. The trip I made were the Laguna Gri Gri is located is Rio San Juan not to Nagua. Nagua is the next town to Rio San Juan and about 37 miles away. Those towns Rio San and and Nagua can be reach easily from Sosua by taking the crowded guaguas or Carritos from one town to another (Eg. One guagua or carrito from Sosua texaco station to Gaspar Hernandez, from there another guagua or Carrito to Rio San Juan, From Rio San Juan another Guagua to Nagua). They are super cheap less than $2 dollars for over 25 miles stretches. There are also guaguas that go from Puerto Plata or the Texaco station in Sosua all the way to Nagua and one express that goes to Las Terrenas and Samana. Well Tempoecorto, have fun in the Guaguas or Carritos. Those are fun trips and true Dominican experiences and you made end up with a hot mami or a fat guy, a sack of platanos, somebody's baby, or some chickens on your laps.
Historically it has always been men who have paid for female company and not the other way around.
Before I answer your other post, I want to revisit this post and address this part here. Assuming this is true, is it also true historically that men haven't always paid cash directly to a female for her company? Such as the case when you saw women drinking and eating at the expense of a man? Further I have observed pfp chicas in Sosua and elsewhere in the DR around dudes for brief moments or extended periods of time drinking and eating at some mans expense. If during the course of her being in his company she is flirting and dancing with him in some club, that's just simply what chicas do when they are having a good time.
I think some people got it twisted, as well as some chicas thinking that them dancing and grinding on a dude is some automatic confirmation that that man is supposed to take her back to his hotel / spot, or that she is owed monetary compensation. As I said before, if that female has been drinking and or eating at that mans expense, she has been compensated for her time. No dude owes a chica cash money. Especially in addition to what he already provided by her drinking / eating without using her money.
Even further, my contention is historically many women accept drinks / food as compensation for their time. At times they may be the ones, disappearing the moment their bellies are full or had enough drinks from some sucker. The same way some dude is not entitled to her company just because he "paid" for her, a female is not entitled to cash compensation just because she volunteered to spend time with a dude, dancing and flirting.
IMO this thing from SOME chicas trying to get money from a dude for their time, is some assbackwards DR logic used on unwary individuals that they think they can get over on. It's highly unlikely some chica is going to be sitting with some dude for a considerable amount of time, and not get a chance to drink a beer. As far as I'm concerned that chica is being compensated for her time. It's mainly the hustlers and trained newbie chicas thinking they are owed cash compensation.
If dudes want to throw more money away on girls they arent interested in that's their business. If chicas want to think they are entitled to cash payments for sitting with a dude, the same for them. At some point, one or the other is going to get a reality check. I suspect it will be the hustling chica. One last point, this idea of paying a chica in a club after you let her know you arent taking her back to your spot. Whats the pay scale for the send off? Mind you, this chica may have been drinking along with you. How much compensation should a chica get for her time? I don't recall members discussing this. Or have an idea what is supposed to be an acceptable rate? Suppose some dude is ready to leave or let the chica move on? He gives her 300 pesos, is that enough? Like I said before, guys are talking about chicas should be paid for their time, but I haven't read one example of what is enough. And who ultimately decides what is enough? Is this even a smart practice in the 1st place, of getting in the habit of paying chicas cash money for their company in a club?
Your whole argument is that the chica is a business person or entrepreneur selling a service and that you are a potential customer. It is similar to how in the US a dentist or roofing contractor will advertise that a free checkup is available. Sure the free checkup is available, but if you start asking for a free checkup every week, you will soon find out that you are not welcome, because the real purpose of the free checkup is not that it is a free service, but that it is a sales pitch.
Anyway I agree with you that you don't owe a chica anything if she comes and plonks herself down uninvited in proximity to you and your friends in a bar. And certainly not if she is trying to pickpocket you. But if you are not interested, there are all kinds of ways to indicate to her that she might be better off pitching to another potential customer, so that if she continues to waste her time hanging around you, then that is at her own risk of time wasted.
However if she had spent considerable time dancing and flirting with you, allowing you to feel her up, and generally interacting in a more-or-less girlfriend kind of way with you, then I can see that she might be aggrieved and feel that she had already delivered a certain amount of service. That's all.
My emphasis or whole argument as you put it, is not focused on a chica being a business person or an entrepreneur. My primary focus is that a man is not obligated to take her just because the chica spent time with the dude, danced or flirted with him, and therefore she is not automatically owed monetary compensation. Her being a business person or an entrepreneur is beside the point. I'm saying any woman around a dude in a club is not automatically owed compensation, especially monetary. She invested her time (invited or not), potentially hoping to get something out of it. If it didn't work out, so be it. She is the one that needs to discern how her time is invested, not the man.
Nobody is disputing whether or not some chica may be aggrieved because some dude didn't take her. The point is, that's just the way it is sometimes. Mongers have had to deal with disappointment all the time when chicas fall short. And so do chicas have to deal with their disappointments when their expectations or schemes fall short.
Check it. On the issue of a man having ways to let a woman know he isn't interested? It's not some mongers duty to keep chicas from the reality of disappointment. A dude may very well be interested in a chica in the moment he is socializing with her. But at the same time, may not be interested later in taking a chica back to his spot after he leaves a venue. He don't have to inform a chica ahead of time whether or not he's going to take her, or what his interests are with her. He may not even know what his intentions with the chica may be until later. That may be the whole point of interacting with her in the 1st place. At some point she will realize if he is interested in her for more than her company after socializing in the venue. It will happen at some point.
Moreover, if compensation is sought by a chica who invests her time with a dude, why isnt the onus on her to inform the dude what he owes if he doesnt take her. Shouldnt she have her own ways of letting a man know beforehand what her time is worth , if he doesnt take her? After all he aint the 1st dude she invested time with. If she herself hasnt provided that information, she has no business getting bent out of shape because some guy doesnt inform her of what his interest will be much later.
You make it seem like mongers should protect chicas from the effects of being disappointed, or perhaps you might be implying some deception or some dude is taking advantage of a chica because she allowed some dude to feel up on her, and/or suggesting men are supposed to know what a womans intentions or goals are with men? That being the case, to a certain extent, once again treating women like children. Feeling sorry for the poor chica who was bamboozled or taken advantage of by the big bad baller. I don't subscribe to any such variation of concern.
Like I observed for awhile, there seems to be an element of female worship running rampant among enough men, and to different degrees a disdain for men or anything that supports the interests, motivations and empowerment of men. Always more concern over womens feelings and disappointments. Meanwhile a different standard for men and mongers particularly. With all the shit that men talk about here and elsewhere in terms of women and their negative behavior towards men, I still see enough men are more concerned of protecting the interests of females instead of their own. But I guess in a assbackwards kinda way, protecting the female interest for some men is their way of protecting their own interests.
