After some good mongering days in Bangkok I come to Phuket to do some scuba diving. And then I check out the scene here in Patong too. I was in this town three years ago, so I didn't expect much. And yes, it's still the same, Phuket and Patong is still at best a secondary mongering destination. A lot of general tourism here, and so much drunk tourists and low quality on the girls. At least this is my feeling after going up and down Bangla road. I arrived at midnight on Friday night, so the street were full of people, some of the bars too, but strangly enough for this time; some were almost empty.

Some streetwalkers of which a few looked good, but most not. The beer-bars seemed most to be geared to honky- tonk-partying. Some dancers around, but few interesting in my eyes. Then there is the go-go bars, I didn't check them out this night, but I will in the following days, and give you a report. When I was here in 2008 I went into Roxy and some others in the small alley off Bangla. I was not impressed then (low quality, attitude.). But I will try again this time. Or is it some better areas or places in Patong? Have I missed something. Maybe massage places are a better option in this town? Sorry about being negative here, I guess I just to spoiled after Bangkok.

A have spend a few days in Pattaya this week and be sure, everything in Phuket is at least double the price than in Pattaya, a ST room is 600 Bt in Phuket, in PAT 300Bt, a Lady drink in PH 180Bt till 200Bt, PAT its 80 till 100Bt, makes a big change in the budget at the end of the night.

In PH at Bangla or beach Road area you will find some freelancers but not much above a 6 rating and hard to get them on ST for 1500, in PAT on the Beach Road there like a thousand girls waiting for a pick up and easy to get them for LT at 1000Bt. In Pattaya Soi 6 bars, you take the girl up to the room for ST. 300Bt for the room and 700Bt for the girl + a drink.

I am planing a first trip to Phuket. Where is a good place to stay? Hotel or apartment? Any experience with Patong Tower Apartments? What can I expect in Patong? Is it like Pattaya or Koh Samui?

In Patong I've paid 300 for an oil massage + 1000 for FS and had a few very good times.

Also the freelancers from the discos (Tiger, Hollywood, etc) are a good deal. The last one I met in Tiger took me back to her room (free) and we had an incredible long ST. She never told me a price so I gave her 1500. Definitely could've gotten away with less, but wanted to reward her great service.

Just to update you with GF situation of the mentioned hotel.

I'm the sort of guy how likes comforts and can afford them. There was no way I was going to stay in a shit hole just so I can monger. There was chatter about this hotel that you have to pay a joiner fee of 2K.

I thought sod it. And booked. I arrived today.

When the reception mentioned that there would be 2k free I refused to pay."I said I'm on holiday and there is no way I'm going to pay you to bring a guest in" I said go ask your manager. He came back and said we will need to see I'd card but we will wave the fee.)

I didn't even really cause a fuss so don't let them screw you.

Its a nice hotel, my room is very close to the beach. Only 10 min walk to Bangla road.

After ten days or so in Pattaya, it was time to come back to Phuket / Patong in search of a more relaxing experience.

I check in in the same guesthouse mentioned in my previous posts, and the price has not changed at 700 Bt. The lady owner has improved her English somewhat and now got a Western "boyfriend". She also rents me a brand new Honda Click for 1000 Bt/Wk. My friend, a long-term expat is also staying here, so all should be good.

Yes it is true that almost everything is more expensive than in Pattaya but with a bit of common sense you can still live on a budget if you want. In my case I don't really need to, but either I'm not going to overspend or waste money.

The first night I get a young girl (looks about a 7) right out of Taipan and she pretends not to understand that I want TWO pops even on ST! But she gets working on me enthusiastically, however wasn't worth the 1,500 as she left after a while. Miraculously she speaks a much better English on the phone the following day, that confirms she's one of these that try to take you for a ride. Her name is Om or Pum, decent looks but not recommended based on this experience.

The second night a similar experience, I pull an older provider (looks about a 7) out of Hollywood and had good manner and some English, guess what her younger sister had drank too much, goes with a troublemaker, all this kind of BS, so she also leaves too early to go get the drunk sister. I ask her if she's OK with 1,000 but she asks for 1,500 saying that I would not have to worry about money for a next time. I gave to her as I sometime do, in case the promise is broken I can at least throw some verbal abuse for entertainment.

The third night I do not have a chance to verify the above promises (even if she called repeatedly on the phone) , as in Hollywood about 2am I see walking in something of my liking. I think this lady's looks (a petite, but not short and with a great ass) can be seen as an 8 for many, even my friend in a totally sober state stated "she's hot". Anyway the best thing is that she's no bar or massage lady, just a semi-pro, lives with mother and daughters (she's older than average girls), no vices, and enough English. She's honest, never obnoxious, sweet and caring. She's pretty much the only one that I've seen spending her own money not just on flowers but for little things for me also. She literally never ask for anything, and we're happy as little birds as we same this hidden 100 Bt (110 starting today) buffet that by the way is very nicely decorated and friendly staffed. I tell her that I want a longish term relationship and turn out she's interested in the same, so we've been hanging out together since for few days. Sex is not the greatest as she's very tight, however she puts good will into it and never says no. A dark skinned, flat faced (but not ugly) one accepts and we walk to the motorbike. She's a little drunk, and orders hot-dogs without even asking me. Then her mistake, gestures that I have to pay for it. Had been asked before I would not had a problem, but I don't like the signal so I say goodaby and ditch her. I also found that a big number of Thai girls have no problem at all paying for her own food so why should I get one that doesn't as first move.

Then the time comes when even Hollywood gets emptied, Bangla road has only one or two shops still open. But Tai-pan still has some stuff as they keep going until 6am or so. I'm bored and sit on the motorbike watching drunks fight and pass out, and various street shit. I smile to pretties waking by (not many) and laugh at one asking for 2, 000, quickly reduced to 1,000. I really want deal or bust now. At the 23rd hour I see one waking in having drank a little. Strong body, but not heavy at all, nor fat. And OK face, somewhat cute. A guy (let's spare the detail of nationality) takes away my hand from her arm, but I realize he's only an old drunk, and we just drive away. She's a bit hesitant in accepting my offer, but then takes it "only for me". We stop for drinks and she's only takes a wine cooler two pack. For a little saving.

We get to my room and great surprise she's horny and willing. No shower and towel roll, or low lights bullshit. She wants it and I give to her as good as I can, she does the same. I have quite a good energies as that's not the way we do it with my "GF" mentioned before. The best part is how this girls blows, no-stop full mouth wet. She really likes it. After a couples rounds we both pass out so clearly the agreed ST will become something else, that is perfectly fine with me. Pro: still brand new, wi-fi, quiet, nice hills view, friendly but not obnoxious lady owner / manager, no people hanging out in lobby all the time, reasonably priced.

Cons: A little far from "downtown". Not many restaurants around, and 7-11 is two blocks away! Recommend you drive a motorbike.

Now an update on my girl Anulak below. She's Isan (obviously) and on second looks, definitely cute. Just a little baby fat on belly. Very sweet, very patient, has a great attitude.
