This isn't the imaginary GP stock market
I finally made my trip to Rio a few weeks ago after a long hiatus and really enjoyed the termas again, even though Luomo is no longer there. I also decided to stay in Botafogo, which is a good neighborhood and has fewer tourists. Staying in Barra made no sense. No grocery store or pharmacy within walking distance and it takes forever to get anywhere. Ain't nobody got time for that.
Going to a terma and doing a session isn't overpaying. You are paying a fixed price for services offered by the house. Those who say you overpay at a terma frankly can't afford it! Just admit it.
And this whole act of "oh I'm so like a Brazilian and savvy and will only go in to get numbers because that's what Brazilians do". Another crock of shit. There are plenty of Brazilian customers that session in the termas because 1) they have the money to do so 2) they're married, so it's their discrete getaway from their wives during the week.
The majority of these girls are more comfortable seeing the customer in the terma for the first encounter. After that, the customer can get her number and have her come to his place for a better agreed upon price. Going to a terma and getting a bunch of numbers doesn't mean you have any guarantee of girls coming over to your place. It's funny how the hit / miss ratio of this strategy is NEVER mentioned. So if you go to a terma and see someone you like and are getting along well with, do the test drive there. There's no shame in it. You're on vacation with limited time.
It's stupid to overpay in termas. Just get numbers and set it up outside. Don't pay the ask. Make a market, get 5-10 numbers and you will get your bid filled. Contact them a day in advance more. Be the hunter not the hunted, be the bat not the ball, gain and keep the initiative.
At these exchange rates Uber costs are negligible.
Thanks for post number 2 Senor Gekko
I'm not even going to argue, just quote Bubba Boy, who wrote.

"The longer I spend in Rio, the more I head to the cheaper places and the prives, basically you can find some real gems for a fraction of the price of the expensive places. The only downside is that the cheaper places tend to have less of a choice, this can be overcome by going to 2 or 3 on the same night. Entrance is generally are $ 10 to are $ 20 and the girl maybe are $ 100, hence with a bit of work you can bang some one as hot or even hotter than at the expensive places for just are $ 150, half the price and twice the fun!
Now on the basis of your 2 posts, I understand you disagree. I am quoting from Bubba Boy's two entire written guides. As for money, well, I have enough to be here as long as I want, while most visitors are constrained by time, money, or both. As they say in the law, res ipsa loquitor. Look it up.
As for the stock market comparison, it is actually like a stock market. It has everything to do with economics. That's self evident.
Staying in Botafogo is a good move, which I've done and recommended.
But the simple fact is that the best girls have chosen to live in Barra, which tells you something. We have a saying in the military art, "get inside his decision making loop," or to use the wingman analogy, "get on his 6," meaning behind your target. Allowing that most of the chicks you are looking at live at Transamerica, would it not help your game to see those girls at 10 am and 2 PM in the pool? In the elevator? In reception? In the bar? On the street for the morning walk?
But you got me, I don't know anything.
Oh, by the way, my hit ratio? It was one shot, one kill on Rihanna Noir (pictured) on the cheaper place on the Darkside. I got her number, waited a few weeks, texted her, met her at Central, and went straight bare up those 19 year old holes. And she is one of 3-4 in the rotation, and there are several trying to get in at any given time.
Just factually, you're wrong. It's easy to get to pharma and grocery in Barra.

I love renting cheap villas around the world
I'm coming down in September with a friend who has never been to Brazil (only Colombia) We'll be staying 1 week in SP and 1 week in RJ. I heard it gets a bit cold in RJ around that time compared to when I went in January. Any other things I should know about September so I can prepare? We'll be getting a villa or something like that (any recommendations for some hidden gems? Greatly appreciated) in Copa or Ipanema (barra I liked the many options for cheap luxury condos / villas but the travel from the beach / termas girls is a huge miss for me, I like to step out and feel the sun and sand without planning a whole routine and terma girls are always down to fuck after their shift if they struck out that night and it's a pain to wait 30+ minutes for them to get to barra, prive girls are ok but not very GFE and are pretty mechanical to me IMO).
Can't wait to get back to Rio to see my terma girls who have been messaging me since I left in January! A much needed gateway to paradise!
But in Copa it won't be 1) villa and 2) cheap. It's all about penthouses in Copa. I stayed in a huge 2 story penthouse with a huge jacuzzi overlooking the beach. However, there were 3 of us sharing the cost, and it was still a pretty penny.
As to "cold," I love Rio during the "cold" winter months when cariocas are forced to wear light jackets and bi*tch about the weather to no end. Cracks me up every time. It has never been too cold for me to go into the ocean, enough said, LOL.
