As you noted particularly in China, everyone knew if you wanted pussy you just go to a hair salon and pick them. If was just a front. But in LOS, some of the girls that work salon used to work in MP, gogo, or bars prior to working in hair salons. Those girls had some common sense to save their earning from working in the p4p scene and applied it to learning a trade. But the salon business isn't easy so many of them around. Many girls working, if they like you would go out with you after work for some extra money. In my opinion they are not like China where they are just fronts.

As noted in Pattaya, there are a few along Soi 6, and behind Soi 6 (6/1) that are somewhat of a front. But watch out for the ladyboys!

A question not about Thailand/BKK at all, rather about Cambodia vs Philippines.
After 12 or so visits to Thailand, I've decided next time (next year) I will split my 10 days between LOS and one of the above places.
I am asking here cause I figure some of you guys may have done both. If I post in the Phil section, 90% will say the Phil, hands down, and ditto for the Cambodian post.
Already, I'm leaning towards Cambodia, for convenience sake - just a cheap Air Asia flight away so easy to tie into a trip to Bkk and also for the 'wild west' atmosphere I've been reading about - I've been to some pretty dodgy places - Colombia, Mexico and Central America, Jo'burg, Nairobi (Nairobbery) to name a few and it seems well cheap too.
It seems as though the general opinion though is that The Philippines have better looking woman and an atmosphere similiar to Thailand.
Dunno......anyone care to offer an opinion. Don't mean to tie up this forum about other countries so feel free to pm.....it will be much appreciated.

I live in The Philippines so you probably might consider me biased but I frequently travel throughout SE Asia (have just returned from a 7 week trip) and have considerable experience of Cambodia (and Thailand, of course). I can assure you that if I were to choose between the Philippines and Cambodia for purely mongering purposes, I would pick The Philippines any day. For why? Apart from considering the women more attractive, they speak English and tend to offer a much better overall GFE. You are also much more likely to find freebies and casual pick-ups (in malls etc) in The Philippines. Cambodian p4p, I found, is as professional and often as clinical as p4p in Thailand but without the quality or service. It is cheap though but you get what you pay for. Don't get me wrong, you can find stunners and good experiences in Martini's and similar establishments, but just not as often as you might in LA Cafe or in Angeles.

For non-mongering purposes, both countries can be hard going at times but, of course, The Philippines has nothing to match the culture of Cambodia and the glories of Angkor Wat. Hotels in Cambodia are very reasonably priced and fairly good quality and Cambodian food is much better than Filipino (which is probably the worst in SE Asia, but that is a personal opinion). In both countries you have to watch your step as there's a lot of street crime and similarly in both you will get a lot of hassle from beggars etc, but in Cambodia it is unrelenting.

In summary both countries have much to offer but I would say that The Philippines wins on points. Thailand IMHO, remains the best destination in SE Asia, for the complete package, for the discerning monger.

Thailand is the better place to live, but I think the Philippines is the better place to party. Cambodia, cheap but not great to live, and not that great to party. Give it a few years. So it all depends on what's most important to you: creature comforts (Thailand), availability of women (Philippines) or price (cambodia).

I will second Gamahucher advice.

Nevertheless for convenience purposes your first choice should be Cambodia.

If you finally decide to go to Philippines I suggest you choose Cebu Pacific Air to fly to Manila stay 3 days there then take a bus or taxi to Angeles City stay two nights there and fly back to BKK from there (Clark) or do the opposite.

I know this sounds weird but air asia is giving away 100,000 free tickets (minus taxes) to thailand as a part of a tourism promotion due to the unrest.

Unfortunately these are flights originating in asia! If only there were steals and deals from nyc. The lowest I see is $1000.

I am still working on thailand. I hope to be there next month but I have not gotten my act together yet. It takes awhile.

I highly recommend Jakarta. Though Muslim it's English speaking and has a great monger scene.

I too live in the Philippines, but spent ten days in Cambodia earlier this year and I agree with everything said by GH. Culturally, Cambodia wins hands down in terms of interest, and the same is true for food, particularly since the Philippines probably has the worst cuisine in Asia. For women however, it's no contest. The Philippines is far superior.

Though good looking women are easy to find in both places, the whole scene is a lot less clinical and much more GFE than Cambodia, and of course almost all of the women here speak at least some English. The P4P scene is slightly more expensive here, but only slightly, and the difference in quality of service makes it all worth it.

This is only my opinion but I believe that these girls working in the salons aren't willing to go out with just anyone and allow them to be f--k. And I'm talking about the single one's. You have your basic conversation and they try to feel you out like if you're good boyfriend material. It's like a line to let you know if you want to go out on a date. It's as they say up to you!

I myself have never said o.k. you want to go to dinner because I'm there only for 1/2 day and don't want to spend alot of time doing the romace number and end up with nothing. There's work to be done and if that's you thing like my friends I say go for it. Now this comes from one of my buddies who told me he took one out for dinner around 2 years ago to Fuji for dinner, drinking and she ended up back at his hotel for the night.

I have been tempted many times but too much of a challenge!
