Returning Nov 18th, for only foour days, staying at Blackbeards, anyone going to be there, let me know. Next trip March 15th, Two weeks. One question for you guys, has anyone heard of the Galxey club, in downtowne Puerto Plata, if so, what kind of talent is there?

There are frequent power cuts in DR. Though Blackbeards has a generator, it does not power the Air conditioners. It does though run the A/C's in the 'D' block rooms (D-1, D-2, D-3).

If you can't sleep in a hot humid room, I suggest asking for these rooms.

Looking for a good airfare from Detroit to POP. I would like to arrive in Puerto Plata December 20 and return January 2. I checked Priceline and Hotwire the best rate was $935.00. I bid $450.00 on Priceline with taxes and fees $577.00 but was rejected at that rate.

I want to spend my Christmas break in the DR but I don't want to spend nearly $1000.00 to get there. Anyone have any suggestions? (other than swim)

Whats the going rate for 1 hour full service in Puerto Plata or Sosua? Pro or non-pro. Also is there a black market rate in DR or is it all the official bank rate?? What numbers are we talking?

Might be heading down in Oct.

Its the time when AA makes a killing on us. I paid $722 from NYC last year.

Another option would be to drive over to Toronto Pearson Airport, about 4 hours from Detroit, and pick up a charter like Skyservice for about $679cdn leaving the 21st of December.

This price might lower closer to the date. Not sure if its worth it for you.

Are there any good girl friendly resorts? My buddy and I would like to come down for a week of mongering. If not, what is the best all-inclusive and what is a good and cheap short term hotel? Lastly, what is the most we should pay for a girl here?

The resorts are not girl friendly . Playa Dorada complex has good all inclusives. Get a map. Hit the malecon, rent a hotel room and bring girls back to your room. Everything ,including all inclusives ,are closer in Sosua. You will have to take a cab all around at night. Also the Coral Hamaca in Boca is right next to the town, you walk over. Lonely planet guide book will give you leads.

I've just posted a full report under the Sosua section of the Forum that contains details of my stay at Blackbeards near Puerta Plata. Basically Blackbeards really did it for me, but it was all downhill in Sosua.

Here is a picture of Margarita from BBs (called Fatima on their website). Beautiful and very sweet two. I spent two days and nights with her.
