I see that post are a little slow about Caracas, mostly by the actual situation, but I can give some advice as a native.

First, the most visited area in caracas for hunting are Plaza Venezuela, Sabana Grande and recently Chacaito, all this areas are "in line" trough the Casanova avenue. Is in this same avenue are the most girl friendly hotels (and some of the really-not-so-clean, except the case of the Meliá Caracas and two or three). By this avenue, specially past 9pm (21Hrs) working class girls start to show at bars, street walkers and in some hotel doors. Be beware of thiefs if you plan to scout by foot.

By the Shell Gas Station in the Casanova Avenue, there's two famous strip clubs: Magnifique and Saxo. those are a little cheaper and with not-so-cute girls than the well known Angelus but in a lucky night you might find two or three good looking ones.

Following the Avenue's end toward the east of town, you will pass near Chacaito Mall and really close to a McDonalds. in this Square, a varing group of good looking girls appear mostly after 10pm (22Hr) and with good "offers", they seen to be testing this area of the street, checkit out before they flee :)

Parallel to this avenue, is the avuenue "Libertador". long time ago was the spot for picking "street girls" but now is 99% infested with Shemales.

i would disagree that the saxo and magnifique girls are that much less attractive than the "glam" angelus princesses which i essentially detest but that's a matter of personal taste.

if you like layers of makeup, tons of silicone, ripoffpricing and attitude to boot, then angelus is certainly your place.

as to the area around mcdonalds in chacaito, i would be very careful if i were you - a significant percentage of these streetwalkers are ****. which is precisely why they flee at the first sight of a chacao police squad car.

OK, I have just picked up my ticket. Continental EWR to CCS. Will arrive July 5th. Need to find a hotel. What I see here is that everyone is talking all high end hotels. When I have traveled to other places, I have always found chica friendly places for about 50 a night. There must be some place near all the action. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I also seem to understand that the official exchange rate is 200,000 to each 100usd. Now i must go black-market to get 350,000 per 100usd. Can this only be done at the airport? Or can this be done elsewhere. How do i know it is real money and not monopoly stuff?

taxi price from airport - if you take ripoff tourist taxis stationed outside, the officially "sanctioned" taxis - between 25K to 30K bolivares. You will note that not a single Venezuelan takes these. If you can take a normal taxi - around 15 K.

Both viagra and cialis are available. There are also good viagra generics which are very cheap. Go to any pharmacy.

look back in the Caracas theads. I mentioned some possibities about possible hotels. There are several four star hotels that should suit you nicely.

any taxi driver can take you to those.

an hour in say an American bar will run you around100K + , which is a ripoff because the girl only gets about half of that money, the other goes for room and some alcohol which you are required to buy.

Paid 62 a night. It seems to be in a good area for mongering. Now i have flight and hotel, any drivers available? Chazman, an American bar called El Doral will be directly across the street from your hotel.

From the outside it looks like a very nice hotel, and I suspect you will be happy with it for 62 a night (though I am sure you would have paid up to 25% less if getting it locally, and your savings might reach as high as 40% if you were to change $$ on black market and simply pay in bolivares. Understandably, not easy for a tourist, especially a first timer to do/arrange.


I'm not sure if you can take a girl out of El Doral, it's probably possible but the salida for such a thing will be fairly steep, probably 150K bolivares (for which you'll get a bottle of champagne)

If you stay on the bar's premises and use its own adjacent ove motel, you will probably pay anywhere from 110K to 140K for your one hour's worth of "pleasure".
