Currently staying at the above hotel, room is very nice and has everything you need. Problems reported with water temperature varying before is true. Very girl friendly and you can even enter hotel bypassing reception through Family mart.
The hotel breakfast is good and included in the price, I normally stay at the LK Rennaisance and will return there next time due to the following negatives; Hotel is full of Russians, the staff are not as friendly as in the Rennaisance, the balcony in the room is not usable too small, WiFi requires you to log on each time and doesn't allow more than 1 connection with your password, I have a tablet, laptop and smart phone so I have to keep logging in and out.

I will stay only one night in Pattaya and will be with a buddy of mine. We might bring back two gfs with us for the night so was wondering which of the following hotels should be most suitable? (super gf friendly / safe / quite / clean)

Areca lodge
LK empress.

LK Empress only allow 1 girl per room then charge extra for anymore, there are cameras everywhere in the hotel even though there is no walk of shame. See previous report.
Areca lodge only allow 1 girl also.

Then I found out about the 300bt joiner fee for a 2nd girl. Even though I seldom take two girls back to my room, I do not like this policy. I cancelled my reservation (no cancellation fee) and booked Tim Boutique. I stayed at Tim last February. They have good rooms, a rooftop pool and they are very guest friendly. I believe Page 10 hotel is under same ownership.

You changed because of a $10 fee?
I checked my dates in January, and the Areca is actually $22 less per night than Tim's.
The Areca is also quietier and better in my opinion.

I just didn't like the idea of a hotel (big brother) watching me and placing themselves in a position to judge or limit my recreational activities. I usually don't take 2 girls, but so what if I do? It is none of their business. 300bt or 3000bt 2nd girl joiner fee – I don't like it!
I have stayed at the Marriott a few times (4000bt plus / night) primarily because they have a great pool. On one occasion I brought back 2 girls. The security guard just smiled and saluted. That's what I like. No fucking hassle. I believe Areca is trying to attract more straight tourists and that is the reason why they are trying to regulate punter behavior with this joiner policy. It serves no other purpose.
Tim Boutique is like the Marriott in guest / joiner respect. The Tim Boutique doorman opens the front door, smiles / salutes, and then runs as fast as he can to the elevator to open that door for you and your lady too. It is comical, but the important point is: the punter comes first. That's service. Tim Boutique is very quiet. No problem there. The rooftop pool is small and not as good as the Marriott, but the views are good.
I am not knocking the Areca. They are upfront with their policy and a lot of guys like it there. It has a good location and the pools look pretty good although definitely not in Marriott league. A great thing about Pattaya is that there a lot of hotel choices at various price points.
Now talking about upscale: anybody stay at the Holiday Inn or Hilton? I hear they are pretty nice. A deluxe room at the Holiday Inn can be had for under 3000bt and at the Hilton for around 4000bt. They have no joiner fee.

I stay at the Marriott also. I know the guard you are talking about. Always saluting and saying loudly "CuuuuP".
After a week he gets a little annoying. But he is cool about the girls.

Some rooms stiupualte "no more than 2 people", whether the 3rd is your son, brother, old dad, school friend or a 3rd girl for the 3-some.
There are hotels having rooms for 3 guests and all rates are accordingly, incl breakfast when "included"
They do not care if you sleep alone, of course. Buy they do care if one "overuses" the hotel facilities.
As simple as that. Some hotels might decide it is not worth the hassle to run after 300 baht of a joinre free, some other want their stake, others decided that a joiner fee might be a way to keep the hotel clean (sometime they do have a reputation) from messing around in hotel rooms (= orgies)
You can't blame them.
You can decide to go elsewhere, this is of course your freedom.
I'm talking about the search feature here. My MO was to go to Trip Adviser and get about 5 hotels that were reasonably priced and then back here to do some research. If there's a trick to this search please let me know. Otherwise here are the hotels that look reasonable. If anyone can comment I would be very appreciative and but a few rounds in Pattaya or anywhere else we may meet.

Holiday Inn Pattaya $108.
Amari Orchid $85.
Four Seasons Place $54 (really!)
Fourtex Sports Club Hotel $39 (seems waaaay to cheap)
Prime Villa Hotel $71.
Important to me is clean, room safe, in room wifi, pool would be nice, and of course girl friendly. Feel free to recommend your favorite.

My favorite other than the Marriott, is the Page 10. Great location but quiet, modern, well priced, GF, decent breakfast.

Rooms are good, no limit on guests, girls love the view and you can do her from behind on the balcony.
