Yo dude what's with the attitude? Relax man. Yes I did ask some pepole some questions, but by private message. I also did some RTFF. I didn't ask newbie type questions here because I'd already read up and found answers. About the pool, Billabong's had been available to non-hotel-guests until recently, so there was no reason to be asking around about pools to go to, as far as I knew. As soon as I found out it wasn't available, which was when I showed up there to go swimming, I immediately asked around in the area to find another one - I had my towel in a bag and my swimsuit already on under my shorts, and it was late afternoon -- so I wasn't gonna go ask on the internet.

So what else. Yeah prices are lower and and connections are better for expats than for tourists. I know. I expect to have it tougher when I visit as a tourist. And I'm willing to deal with that (pay more, have fewer options). Thats life.

Anyway... Somaly's? The sign outside did say Salomon. Maybe its called Somaly in Khmer, I dunno. Yeah those girls looked pretty rough, I have to say. If I don't feel that tingle down there, it ain't gonna happen. At Circee there was one I'd have taken but she was always busy with another customer whenever I was there. And then there was the hottie bartender who was unavailable to customers. The others weren't tempting. To me at least. Does it bug you that I'm picky? We're all different man. Some of us less picky, some of more. Life would be way easier for me, and happier I guess, if I wasn't picky, but I am. If the girl isn't cute enough to get me going, I can't get into it. For me, I'd rather go back to the hotel and watch tv and have snacks than take back a girl I'm not that into. That's just me.

Well it sounds like you probably know some good places for the stunner types, and at higher prices from what you say. Fair enough. I'm sure some here would be interested to hear where. I read a few months back about one, I think on Mao Tse Tung Blvd or someplace down there. Khmer-oriented club supposedly a bit tough to navigate for a foreigner, let alone a non-Khmer speaking tourist like me.

Anyway, no harm meant from my end. Not sure what part of what I wrote ticked you off. Was just describing things from my own tourist POV. And I don't live in Thailand, if you thought that. I've only been to Pattaya twice, Bangkok a few times. But I still think it's obvious to anyone who visits both in a short tiem span that BKK has way more available than PP. But if you find what you like in PP, that's all good. Me, I'm in Vietnam, and I have to say I get bored of what's available here, feel a hunger to experience something different (which was what got me over to PP this time). Actually, for that reason, I was much less interestd in the VN girls at Martini than in Khmer girls. Something different.

I totally believe it if you say Martini is empty some nights. It's just on the nights I happened to be there, it looked like it was about 50-60 girls every time (Th, Fr, Su, Mo). I've seen it busier than that on some previous visits in past yrs... and at the old location down in the southwest corner of town (where it was from the 90s until the early 00s).

holy crow. 8 thousand dollars? thats insane. how old were these 3 girls? will be interesting to see how this one plays out. this sovanmee was on here quite a bit in the past and always trying to get business from members here (to be their driver), and i guess he was pming people offering these kinds of service he's in trouble for now. its a good bet that the authorities have gained access to his email and account here, so would have access also to whatever he wrote to anyone or anyone wrote to him, and with those email addresses they can probably figure out who is who.

Look, I have been living here for nearly three years and I speak pretty fair khmer.

The tourists go to the usual spots and often get a bum deal.

If one can speak khmer the options are endless, so many nice girls.

The best girls now work at Khmer night spots where only khmer is spoken.

They make much money with the khmers, japanese and koreans-we are the poor cousins who hate to send money.

Asians love to go ouit and drink heaps and spend money-this is the 21st century and they have the dosh, not us.

I drive the streets every day and I see so many good places, not that I go.

I find that driving around at 5 to 6 at night one sees the best girls being delivered to work by the boyfriend.

If one was a real serious hunter one would follow these girls to their place of work.

Even if someone was giving you the way to certain clubs, it would be very very difficult for you to find them without help on the ground from someone who knows them.

Riverside and the side streets? I never come there as I do not pay barfines or lady drinks. I am more off the 'beaten track'.

But from 'hearsay' on street 104 Zanzibar and Rose bar and on street 136 bar '69' have some quality inside and 'specials'. Just find out for yourself. Also you can have a try at Nay Nay on street 102, a friend found a stunner inside there a few months back, so good he kept her for a week.

For me, the best way for ANYBODY to get an endless supply of girls, be it a tourist or expat (but as tourist you will pay a little bit more, but does that matter as you are only short time here) is to befriend a mamasan or a working girl who is on the verge of becoming a mamasan due to her age, and if you be nice to them and you are a good person and treat the girls well, I guarantee you an endless supply of girls whenever you like for 10/15 bucks ST. I know this as a certainty myself, I think you understand.

Also, if you know an expat in the Penh who is using this 'system' he can take you right into the middle of the cake.

Having said all this, however you must clearly understand that many girls you meet anywhere are 'available'. For a certain price.

This country is not Thailand, the amount of beathy found there is not here. If you always insist on a stunner it is going to cost you from 80/100 bucks and up. In this field you are competing with the Chinese and other business people and you are not going to find them in the 'barang' joints.

I nearly forgot to mentoin one incident at Martini. On the night I was in pursuit of the Vogue girl (the Viet one iwth the bangs/fringe--btw, do you guys know who it is I mean? She was there almost every night when i was in town), and she got nabbed by the Japanese guy just as I was about to approach her, there was another girl there who I talked to. She was tallish, very thin, and light skinned, also Vietnamese--every time I saw her at the club, she was wearing a black dress that showed her armss and shoulders. Anyway, she said she would go for $40 LT, or $20 ST. I showed interest in LT but said that was too high, I said $25 LT (bargaining here, didn't expect her to come down that far). Well, she then came back and said she'd do $17 ST or $40 LT. I asked why not come down for LT? I offered her $30 LT next. She said, no, $40. Then... she got up and walked away. Weird. She reduced the ST price but wouldn't budge an inch on LT. Just as well, because that was the clue I took to leave (I woudl have felt like I was settling with her, accepting a consolation prize). After that I went to St 136 and found the little spinner hottie that I ended up wiht the next night for $40, there's a good chance if I'd taken the VN girl I never would've hooked up with that one (which was a clear improvement -- she was even cuter than the Vogue girl). But now that I remember, I think that big table of Japanese guys was like blood in the water, and she was the shark circling. She actually was kind of loitering always right around the permiter of where those guys were all sitting. And it looked like they all had found partners, so it didn't look like she was gonna get picked.

I totally expect to have to pay more as a tourist, so that's fine. Are those prices I got asked at the 136 bars standard? They wanted $10 bar fine and then $30 for ST with the girl. Yeah I know thats; way high for expats, but I wonder if a tourist can bargain it down. The girl I had there was even hesitant to go out with me AT ALL, so I didn't have too much bargaining room. But that night I came back for her, even after we had arranged to go out and the price, she had that look on her face like she was half thinking of a reason to say No. That's something us tourists really have to deal with a lot more I'm pretty sure.

So I'm curious about the high end stunner type scenes you guys talk about, where the Chinese/Asians/local rich Khmers go. The places I've heard most about are Manhattan disco, Casa disco, and X2. Are those some of the ones you have in mind? (I did check Casa and it was totally dead the night I was there, which was a Friday night just after 11pm). When I come back, I'd definitely at least go check out some of these higher end type places, at least just to see what's available there, and possibly to try to take some out. You have to treat yourself once in awhile.

She complained of so much expenses in her family with kids in school etc... that if I did not pick up any girl, she would do me for $1...hehehe.

She's one sexy, charming, smiling, funny, good-looking woman, whom I would not mind fucking all night...

A few yrs back, I got taken by a motorbike driver to a "beer garden" (thats what the sign said) on I think street 130, or else 136, not far from the river. Downstairs had a big empty room in front, then you'd go a bit to the left and as you passed through a wide openign there was a big staircase on the right side that went up a few flights. Up on I think the 2nd or 3rd floor, you came to a floor that had a medium sized fishbowl with a few not-very-attractive Viet girls inside, all watching tv. There was sofa going all around the permiter of the outside room. Anyway, on this last visit I returned to what seemed to be teh same place and its a nightclub for young Khmers now, with a really packed dancefloor in teh back of that ground level. Some people were going upstairs but I doubted it still had taht fishbowl up there, considering who the current clientele were. (tho I wouldnt' be shocked if it was still up there)

If she was amazing I might try, maybe once on a visit. I have tried a few expensive girls in the past (one I can think of in VN who was $100 LT) and sometimes had excellent experiences. Sometimes you do get your money's worth in quality. Always? No, but here in VN, there's definitely an overall rise in the quality of experience (not to mention looks) at the higher end. But like with everything, there's exceptions, sometimes you get total clunkers, so I can only say "overall". But on the low end, the cheapest ones have a way higher rate of being disappointing for one reason or another, where you have a really good chance of getting that session where it's obvious the girl wants to jsut get out of there as soon as possible. I guess in PP, you might get that kind of thing from girls in the cheap massage brothels, or else those girls who stand curbside in Hun Sen Park ( I guess).

Speaking of which, I never did pick up one of those girls but nearly did on a longish visit a few years ago. Maybe "nearly" isn't the right word. I approached a girl and ended up being greeted by her "pimp", a little Khmer tough guy of about 13. So he explained the girl would be $7 ST, and only ST, and I had to pay now. So I forked it over, and went to get us a motorbike, turned to see that pimpboy was totally gone and the girl running down a dark side street. Hilarious when I think back on it now, but of course at the time I was pretty pissed off. What was I thinking. Also hilarious was how they insisted on it being ST only, which was a great distraction technique, since the whole thing was set up to really be NT (no time). So NT at Hun Sen Park, I can report first hand: just $7. ;)

I might try if she was gorgeous and completely devoid of attitude and arrogance. Other than that, you're just paying the higher rate so you can feel like a big shot high roller. I doubt the hit/miss ratio for high class $90 girls in PP would be much higher than with the girls charging $20. Generally I prefer the girls who charge roughly the going rate.

Really hot girls are like iPods -- thanks to globalization they pretty much go for the same price anywhere. OK, a bit cheaper here, but not all that much. These days the whole concept of "How dare you ask for $100 when most people in your country don't earn that in a month" is a non-starter.

I wouldn't pay that much for a girl who was a 6, no she'd surely have to be something special in the looks dept at that price. I certainly don't do it to feel like a high roller. For me, it's more that I might go to some place where I know they charge that much cuz I've heard there's a lot of hotties there. Basically, if there's some venue that charges that much, you can expect that a much higher % of the girls available there will be 7s, 8s or higher, where if you go somewhere where they charge $20, ok there may be [i]some[/i] hotties there, but almost surely not as many or as high a % as at the high end spot.
