The personality my radically change, sometimes for the better or sometimes for the worse. In my experience much more often than one might think for the better. Anyway, I enjoy talking to them and figuring out where their heads are really at.

Really there are so many variables that it is hard to generalize, because you don't know their financial objective for the day, whether they have had other customers, whether they have a babysitter, whether they are waiting for a friend, whether they live in Sosua or further away, whether they find you attractive, what they know about you already through the grapevine, and many, many other factors. Really you can only talk to them and get some idea of what they are all about.

Last year I had arrived into Sosua very late due to getting into Santiago a couple hours behind schedule, and not getting into my room until 4 AM.
