[/QUOTE]In all of my many years of mongering in Thailand, I have never had anything stolen by a bar girl, MP girl, street walker, hotel room cleaner, etc.
Maybe I am just lucky.

On the other hand I don't take obvious risks with girls I don't know. Simply I don't leave wallet lying around. Its in my pocket when go to the bathroom and I always leave the bathroom door open. Nothing valuable is left on display.

Perhaps I have got lucky in my choices of girls as well.

I've found that freelancers are girls who do not want to be tied down to a routine such as an MP or a bar. They tend to be part-timers. I've had good luck with them. Since they don't have sex as much, they tend to be more enthusiastic. I've also found their service level to be just as high as the MPs or the bars. Since they agree to go with you voluntarily, they usually like you at least somewhat, so they will probably enjoy it and give pretty good service.

I'll be in BKK Feb. 1-18th "visiting" with the girls. Ha. And it's just my second time there.

Any suggestions of how to utilize a fitness center or some place to work out near the Majestic Suites? Someone mentioned something on Soi5/1 I think.

Any ideas would be helpful. Do the other hotels allow "outsiders" to use their facilities, etc?

MP3 players, handmade tailored silk shirts, CD's minibar stuff, and they will rifle pockets and wallets too. Never underestimate a seasoned pooying. The maids will steal little stuff like Thai Heintz sauces. I've had front desk hotel staff steal stuff too. The situation has grown worse compared to 4-5 years back.

Every girl has her own reasons.

I don't think that it has to do with them being less attractive.. you just need to look in some bars and seeing the girls they employ tells you there are no Standards in terms of looks.

My opinion would be that they have Freedom.

A bargirl (BG) is an employee of the bar and has a lot of Targets to reach (# of lady drinks, hours, days of work) while a Freelancer can go and work whenever she pleases.

Some Freelancers are just regular office girls, who, towards the end of the month sell their body to help make ends meet (rent.).

Some other Freelancers are BGs quarantined by their bar because they were tested positive on the bar's last "STD check", they freelance until the STD is gone and they can return to the Bar (the bar Fines them if this occurs).

this is what I think, but even if you ask a girl "Why" she does it, she will never tell you the truth (unless she knows you for a long time.)

Like Mick Licker I have never had anything taken while in Thailand. I do always lock everything of value up though if there is going to be a working girl in the room.

As for hotel staff, at the better hotels I have never had any problems. I know at the Hyatt they will even return money you leave in your laundry. Of course it is always better to not provide temptation, but in many, many stays in different hotels in Thailand, I have often accidentally left money, cameras, laptops, and other goodies out with never a problem. But then I tend to stick to the better hotels.

You are pretty sorted.. I'm too lazy to look up where Majestic Suites is but I am pretty sure it isn't too far from Nana, in which case, inside the Landmark Hotel (139 Suk I think) there is a 'Fitness First' - attached to, but a seperate entity to Landmark.

They are absolutely top notch.

There is another big nice gym opposite the World Trade Centre - can't remember the brand. Failing that, there's another Fitness First up on Sukhumvit Soi 39(?).

Google 'fitness first thailand' for the exact addresses of the ff chain, they are all top notch.

California Wow - probably the best fitness chain here. At the corner of Sukhumvit soi 23. 2 minute walk from Soi Cowboy.

You might wana try True Fitness across the road from California WoW. They are new and equipment is good, they might let you negotiate something.

In my judgement, this was the last line I was in control of: “That said, an old-timer (myself included) will tell you that Angel Disco is more of the very same standard fare that is on your short list already, but there is at least one major difference.”

I reminds my of the last page of “Sexus” by Henry Miller. The thing in the back of my head while I was hitting the keyboard was the farang guy that peddles post cards and other miscellaneous trivia on Sukhumvit. I’ve heard him mentioned on this board more than once. The last time I saw him was on Soi 4 and I actually bought a postcard from him. I couldn’t help it. The guy was so pitiful.

Maybe I might ought to consider my current post at this time. As you can see, this one is trying to escape me as well.
