This probably isn't of any use to anyone. About half of this info is from at least one year ago. But, for my own amusement if nothing else, and since I didn't post my older reports on this site:

Some of those names are definitely familiar. I think about 6-7 of them are part of one 'group' as in they stay in the same room I guess. The same group came to my room also and from what I can remember, only Rosa was decent and the rest were mediocre to down right nasty. I think you missed the Ukrainian's and the Chechen's, some real hotties in there. And some of the girls that call themselves Turkish are actually Chechen's. I met two such girls at Phoenicia who told me they were Turkish at first but next time told me they were Chechen.

One other redeeming quality of Phoenicia is that like you said it has relatively nice rooms and to me at least it isn't as sleazy as some of the other hotels in Hoora / Manama. Another interesting thing is that many of the girls at Phoenicia have Facebook pages. I must have added at least 5 by now.

Kind of dumb that they are adamant about not letting you take a picture in the room sometimes, but then they give you their facebook and you can find 10 or photos there. What's the difference?

I felt special when Yasmin gave me her I'd on Facebook but then I added her and saw there are 100 other Arab dudes on her page all professing their love and saying how much they miss her.

I was trying to get some hotel information. Could you advice which of the 5 star hotels are GF? Somehow was not able to get enough info in the threads. This would help me in booking into the right hotel for my trip.

Typically 5-star hotels have a policy of not harassing their guests, so if you have a lady friend staying with you in your room that's your business. You might want to avoid having them come wait for you in the lobby or come in if they are dressed like obvious prostitutes, but otherwise I doubt you would have a problem bringing a girl to your room at any true 5-star hotel, even in places like Saudi Arabia you can get away with that as long as the girl isn't Saudi (and then you can sometimes, depending). Why not call ahead to the hotel you would like to stay at and ask them if it's alright if you and your girlfriend spend the night there together?

First let me mention that I used to visit bahrain regularly, from Riyadh and by car and most of my stays were at Phoenicia hotel.

And that ended in 2009.

Why, because my girl friend a Moroccan couldn't have a visa at the time when they stopped giving them with some other nationalities.

When Theystolemyname was reporting about phoenicia I felt exactly the old days about the rooms, the security, the regulations, the disco from 11:00 to 02:00 AM, the girls who were eally 7 to 10 sometimes but I liked his saying about always in a rush.

-by the way the girls were obliged to go nightly to the disco but they could be exempted if they pay (100 D) and cannot leave the hotel antway, like an off day per week.

The report of 'all that' is great, to the point and most importantly is CORRECT.

The man is not advertising. Although he might have his own preference as we all have it.

As he noticed Diggers is not at all as it gives the general impression.

F1 could be better or the other bars too.

I second him by writing the full names of the hotels (although he also was drifted to write shart names as the others, but after identifying those short names).

I don't know exactly the situation now in bahrain after all what we are hearing on TV's.

Are we safe to go and enjoy ourselves as before.

I would like a clear comment on that issue.

I know the forum when it was sizzling, but now and since the events, the number of reports are on the down.

This is how I access the internet from Saudi Arabia and Bahrain when visiting sites such as this. Only problems is that flash doesn't work, but you can surf safely and anonymously.

i use a pay service, overplay. net. only about $10 mo. i know there are a lot of free apps or methods to circumvent isp blocking, but with pay services you get high speed and to me thats worth the price.

Some VPN sites are blocked in lots of Gulf countrys but you don't know till you get there. Some of my websites are blocked but when in the UK I don't realise. DOH!

My friend used to use it and he told me that it used to work great but is no longer functional. It sounds like hidemyass was faster and had more functionality than Tor Vidalia does, but Tor is free and it still works in the KSA (and Bahrain).
