What I really do not understand is the path of marriage to a Thai (exception perhaps to a very whealty or well connected woman) , just to get virtually zero advantage on immigration (a Kafkianesque, costly and humiliating process) , no tangible rights of any kind, while gaining obligations toward her family, assorted burdens, etc, etc.
Altough I understand the perspective changes when there is paternity involved. But that is seriously off-topic here.
Marcos, you make an excellent point here. In most places, when you marry a local and the marriage is legit, you get a pretty easy path to citizenship. Not here. No way. They just don't want foreigners becoming citizens. Very xenophobic at certain levels of society here.
Very xenophobic at certain levels of society here.
Hmmm, I'm not so sure about that.
Just to be sure I google searched and it appears that the essence of xenophobia is:
'irrational or unreasoned fear of that which is perceived to be foreign or strange'
'fear and hatred of strangers or foreigners'
'unreasonably fearful of or hating anyone or anything foreign or strange'
I believe that Thailand is the only country that has never been occupied by a foreign country and the Thais are very patriotic people. In no other country have I heard the name of the country mentioned as often as the Thais' do when saying 'Thai lady'. Everything is Thai lady this and Thai lady that and even spoken by men. After all if you are in Thailand there are effectively no other ladies except Thai ladies. They feel they are somehow special.
I see no evidence of 'fear' or 'hatred' as mentioned in the definitions. I think the Thais just don't value cultural diversity as western nations do. They seem to prefer their own level of cultural preservation.
They don't seem to feel 'graced' by the falang presence (other than liking the cash) but instead almost seem to be saying 'hey, just because you left your own country for whatever reason and chose to expatriate fine, you can stay but you're not doing us any favors and if you want to go home then that's OK with us too'
Nothing irrational about that. Just look at many of the expats in BKK (especially lower Suk). When I'm in BKK I barely choose to engage with them either.

Rainbow 1
Rainbow 1 observation.
That small cocktail waitress gets more action than many of the girls on stage me thinks. 8 visits and I saw her get barfined 2 times. Not high on personality but I guess guys just like her looks. Hard to tell what size tits she has, if any at all. LOL.
Is her name nana (yes) and a little on the plump side? If thats the one, then she has natural B size tits but a lousy fuck.

btw, japan occupied thailand in ww2

And if one is stupid and stubborn enough to take the path of permanent residence (that does NOT automatically entitles to a work permit), or citizenship, (that is currently stalled since 7 like years), be prepared to more humiliation and to renounce your citizenship.
Thailand is one of the most racist, xenophobic, discriminating and ignorant countries of the world. That being said, I personally kind of like to hangout here. It is also enjoying a nice weather right now.

They know what they're doing. Xenophobia? No. For that, see Isreal.

Another of his books I really enjoyed was "Bangkok bob and the missing Mormon". Final recommendation is "The Queen of Patpong" by Timothy Hallinan. Don't even consider "Burnt out in Bangkok" by Tom moon Mullins, it's one of the worst books I have ever read. Normally I pass books on for others to read, this one went straight in the bin!

Mercury rising
I went to Mercury in Nana (for those who don't know where it is take the escalator on the right and it is immediately on the right) about four weeks ago and although didn't BF I did talk to a nice lady (No. 69) who ticked all the boxes as far as attitude is concerned. I was there with a friend of mine and after interviewing three ladies he settled on the last one. Anyway we both went back there last night, me with the intention of BF'ing 69. Now comes the funny part. Unusually for a Thai girl she didn't remember us and when we sat down 69 came across and jumped on my friends lap. This made my friend feel very awkward and made me laugh a lot. He protested to her that she should be sitting on my lap to which I responded "mai pen rai".
As it later transpired things turned out good for both of us. After 5 minutes a lovely looking young thing came and sat next to me. We exchanged the usual go-go bar pleasantries, had a couple of drinks and she went up to do her dance stint. At this point my friend asked if I minded him BF'ing number 69, I knew he felt awkward and at the same time could tell by the look in his eyes he was anticipating a good time with her. I respect the fact he was basically asking my permission so assured him I was fine with it. When the girls came down from dancing my friend jumped straight in to arrange the BF. This prompted the lady sat with me to approach the subject. I decided to see if an initial reluctance to commit to a BF might sharpen her interest and it had the desired effect.
I established some ground rules, without making it sound like a stiff business negotiation, along the lines of how long she stayed, DATY, kissing, BBBJ. What I do is not to just "machine gun" questions at the girls but intersperse them with small talk and some humour, if and when possible. So just before 12 we were making the 5 minute taxi ride to my place. She doesn't have an exuberant personality so she was understandably reserved at first but after making her feel relaxed she soon got into the swing of it. The sex was very good and she accepted whichever position I asked for. I especially like the girl on her side with the top leg hitched up towards her chest and she took it like a champ.
Score system. This based on my own opinion and NOT open to anyone else's rating system.
ID: No. 8, name withheld by request.
Age: 23, or so she told me.
Face: 8/10 IMO very pretty appearance even out of the deceiving lighting of the bar.
Body: 7/10 a bit more full bodied than I normally go for.
Ass: 7/10 bigger than I like but still had a nice shape to it.
Legs: 8/10 very nice with thin calf's and wholesome thighs.
Tits: 7/10 C cups but a bit spread out, nice nipples though.
Pussy: 9/10 looked very nice, was tight and shaved.
BBBJ: 8/10 Enthusiastic but no DT. Good vigorous action and was happy to carry on as long as I asked for.
A+: Made it clear this was not being offered. I didn't ask in the bar as it's not really my thing.
Enthusiasm: 8/10 The first time is always different to other times if you decide to repeat.
Clock watching: Not at all.
Blemishes: She has a slight abrasion on her right shoulder due to a bike accident but noting that put me off.
Satisfaction: 8/10 Went to sleep smiling.
WIR: Already planning on it.
I find the attitudes of girls in the smaller bars tends to be better than those of the self perceived super stars who work in the bigger go-go's. A larger quantity of girls attracts more customers which means more BF's. This does not always equate to good service or attitude. There are some lookers in Mercury with some not so hot and a sprinkling of young things too. I would recommend anyone who has not visited this place to give it a try. You may or may not find something to tempt you but you will probably find an enthusiastic companion for ST.

BJ
