East China - Shanghai

Yesterday I went back to the BBS street I reported on earlier. Every single shop was closed. It was about 11 PM. I hope it's not a result of LE seeing my post. I'll get back there again to check later.

I then went to a nearby bathhouse; no line up; they sent me 3 girls and I sent them back one by one (they were just not doable). They didn't have more, it was about 1 AM at that point.

I was at Shanghai a few week ago no problem finding bbs and sauna action price is much higher than normal because many other sauna is closed, don't know why crack down is almost the end of the expo, maybe they want to clean up Shanghai for the long term.

It is on a corner, on dingxi lu, right after fahuazhen lu on left side when you come from yan an lu.

Went to Hailang on Saturday early evening, around 6:30 PM. Relatively easy to find as per the previous instructions in the forum.

The atmosphere is a bit oldish, certainly clean enough but not luxurious. Attendants are very nice and polite (and numerous! There is someone greeting you every 3 meters). I bumped into a bunch of costumers including one older laowai in the lift who looked pretty ashamed to be seen there (sorry if that was you!).

Line-up in the fishbowl was big, about 20 girls. However I was a bit disappointed by the overall quality. Lots of 6s and 7s that I wouldn’t touch for free, maybe two or three 8s. That was it. I was expecting to have more choice than in the BBSes, but not really. I only had 2 or 3 options.

Those going over, don't be confused by the old location of Manhattan, the sign is still up (along with a bunch of other bard) but it is behind a construction barrier. The actual bar is another two blocks north and half a block east on Nanyang Road the same street Malone's is on. It is next to a Big Bamboo that had a bunch of expats in it, including a very nice looking American girl who looked to be about 6'1". Nice girl.

Good to know, thanks for looking out Dickie. Definitely makes sense, and this is usually the way its done, especially if something special is going to happen (I. E. New mayor in town). Best to stay away for a bit and wait for the "Storm" to pass.

The address on that side of the road goes straight from 1141 down to 800 something, and there is a big area past Century Road that looks like it should be the place based on street signs. Go to the other side of the street where the numbers are even, and the addresses don't line up. Look at google maps and the stupid thing has you two blocks away at Zhangyang Road.

I was definitely in and among where Indo Phile's post describes and could not see anything that would have led me to the right place. It's gratifying to know I was right there, but even reading the directions now I cannot remember seeing some of the things he describes. I definitely did not see the name anywhere.

Maybe tomorrow, I have to walk past there on the way home from the office, maybe I'll just drop my stuff at the hotel and then drop in. Either that, or I'll try Manhattan, either way I'll report back.

Not time square. There's a department store calls Nextage and Sarcosa is in a building near it. Go back to the posting and I am sure you'll find the address, probably a few months back.

The following is a link to the Google Maps page using the Chinese name to search. There are a couple pictures of the building and the location pin seems to be in the correct place.

Another travel tip is to use Metro Line 9's Shangcheng Road station. Use exit 4 and walk east on Shangcheng Road, away from South Pudong Road. As I recall, you will pass a Marriott Apartment building on your right. Just pass that, turn right at the next driveway. Then, pass the Marriott building and turn right at the next alleyway. No. 1085 South Pudong Road is on your left. The address is written in large silver letters above the door. Walk in past the guards to the elevators at the back and go to the 5th floor.

If you absolutely don't want to do any research, why don't you try out the classified ad section of the China board. I recall at least one person offering tour guide service for a fee.

I am certain you can get Eng/ Chin addresses of all the major saunas. Just print/ copy them and get on a taxi.

Fast Eddie 48[/QUOTE]My understanding is that the crack down has nothing to do with the Expo. It's a directive directly from the central gov in Beijing. The use of wujin (people's armed police) is to ensure that there is no collusion between local law enforcement and various establishments.

The crack down is nationwide from Dongguan to Nanchang (in Jiangxi province) to Shanghai to Beijing.

If you search shao huang (sweep yellow) in Baidu, you will get a sense of enormous scope of this national crack down.

Why in the world would you come to Shanghai looking for African women???

Wouldnt one goto Africa or Harlem, Gambia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Botswana, or one of those places? Goto to Macau, there is always a token black girl to chose from.
