The India-Pakistan match on Wednesday had an unusual windfall for the Delhi Police.

With everybody busy watching the game, a group of Uzbek call girls had a forced day off from work. Waiting for a client who would come their way at their South Delhi flat, they had a police team arriving."We were tipped off about two call girls and we found five," said Joy Tirkey, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, crime branch. They were caught from a flat in Uday Park, which they had hired on rent for more than `35, 000 per month.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime and railways) Ashok Chand said that the arrests came following investi gations after a tip off about a high profile call girl racket involving foreign nationals. 'The mobile number of the pimp was procured. A decoy customer contacted the pimp on her mobile number and on Wednesday they agreed to meet at a scheduled place at Uday Park. The woman pimp said that the girls would be available on payment of `30, 000 to `50, 000, ' said DCP Chand, adding a deal was struck and part payment was made to the pimp.

'She then took the decoy inside the premises situated on the first floor. A raid was conducted and four girls and the woman pimp were apprehended. All five are from Uzbekistan, ' Chand said. The girls are all in their early twenties.

During interrogation, Chand said, it came to light that

The pimp was staying in India for the last two years on a multiple entry visa. 'She has operated in different areas of South Delhi and has been shifting her base frequently to avoid detection. She has been putting up at the rented flat for the past six months, ' he said. All the girls were staying with her. 'Their earnings on an average per person per month is in lakhs. They have a selected clientele and any new client is entertained only when he provides them with the reference of a trusted client, ' Chand said. The girls come to India on tourist visa and the duration of their stay ranges between two to six months. Out of the four arrested, two of them had also come to India earlier, he added.

NEW DELHI: The infamous kingpin of an inter-state prostitution racket, who allegedly supplied call girls at farmhouses and five-star hotels, was arrested along with four girls and four pimps here, police said on Saturday.

"Geeta Arora, the kingpin who is known as Sonu Punjaban, along with four pimps. Arun Thakral, Raju Sharma, Vijay Kumar and Mohammad Arif. As well as four girls aged between 20 and 25 years, was arrested from the Mehrauli area of south Delhi on Friday night," said a senior police officer. Sonu Punjaban told the police that she, along with the pimps, brought these girls from other states so that they could be supplied to high-profile clients during the World Cup.

"She kept the girls in flats at Saidulajab in south Delhi. Her clients. Mostly high-profile youths and businessmen. Would visit her flats. The girls, who were kept on contract, were paid Rs 40, 000 to Rs 60, 000 a month. She would charge Rs 5, 000 to Rs 15, 000 for each night. She was trying to offer special rates for group clients," said the officer adding that sub-inspector Kailash Chand acted as a decoy customer. SI Narpat Singh acted as the shadow witness. Chand and Singh were sent to strike a deal in plainclothes around 10pm.

After striking a deal, the officer signalled to the raiding party, which swung into action. The arrests were made from Anupam Enclave. Sonu had earlier been arrested from Saket in south Delhi and Geeta Colony in east Delhi for allegedly running a sex racket."She has been running a sex racket in Delhi for the past seven years," said the officer. She was last arrested in 2008.

Sources said approximately 30 girls, mostly from Bihar, West Bengal, Orissa and Punjab, worked for Sonu. Sonu raked in about Rs 1 lakh every day. Henchmen would escort the girls to Mumbai and Punjab, police said.

The pimps would take the girls to the customers. According to police, Sonu was also in touch with the most wanted criminals in and around Delhi. Police said her last lover, Hemant alias Sonu, was killed in February 2008 in an encounter.

She was married to notorious criminal Vijay who was killed in a shootout. Thereafter she married another criminal named Hemant alias Sonu, who was also killed in a shootout with the Delhi and Gurgaon police. She decided to enter the flesh trade to support her lavish lifestyle. Initially, she worked alone but as more and more high-profile clients got added to the list she formed a group of inspiring models and actresses, who often got trapped. She has a large number of pimps who help her in arranging and transporting customers. She is also involved in a murder case of district Jhajhar in Haryana.
