18 Hours in Bangkok
Hi all,
I'll soon be transferring flights in Bangkok and will have about 18 hours layover from early AM until about 9PM in which to play.
My question is, if you wanted the once-in-a-lifetime Bangkok experience, where would you go for somewhere that;
A. Is safe, both in terms of viruses & personal / property safety.
B. Has genuinely top-level girls, genuinely in their early early twenties.
C. Has girls who hopefully aren't being forced into anything
D. Is simple to access and use, preferably without me having to rent a hotel etc.
I guess I would have up to (but preferably much under!) 7,000 Bhat to spend for a single encounter and I'm open to most suggestions (2 girls etc)
I really have no idea where to start since it seems so vast in Bangkok so I defer to the better judgment of the experienced gentlemen here!
Cheers
how much do any of you westerners know asian history? be it that of japan, china, thai, vietnam, cambodia or laos. and then that of india, tibet, sri lanka or any other nations? surveys after surveys show that american kids do not even know where iraq or afghanistan is? how much is world history taught in america or england? easy to say thai do not know western history. do you?
excellent point ariscasa.
i was lucky and got a good education in world geography starting in primary school, took courses on the history of countries outside of north america and europe through college, and love to read about different countries and cultures. this topic is one of my pet peeves. i'm going to ask some random people i expect to run into today how much they know about the killing fields and the nanjing massacre.
How often do you hear stories of some dumb chump from Japan or Korea getting taken to the cleaners by a gogo girl?
Third, "Some Asian guys. Particularly the older guys. Tip very well, sometimes several thousand baht. They are also less likely to negotiate. They will accept a price offered or they won't. Negotiation doesn't really come in to it." If they find the girl and what she has to offer worth the price they close the deal. Otherwise they move on.
No I have heard, instead, of some dumb chump Thai girl marrying a very selfish Japanese, or perhaps being taken to Japan to become a slave servant girl.
I thought it was generally accepted that Farangs tip much better than local Asians, with some super-rich exceptions, and that Japanese normally do not tip at all according to their culture.
I agree that many Thai girls prefer Asian men. On the other hand there are Thai girls that have been "burned" by abusive untrustworthy Thai men and are looking for something different. They cannot all be the same.

Many of us have heard a Thai girl say she has had a bad experience with a Thai man and now only wants to see farangs. Whether this is true or not is another matter.
Like you I have heard stories of Asian girls being dragged into virtual slavery by a man from this or that Asian country. I've rarely heard of a man from N. America or Europe doing this. In San Francisco it is well known that there are Asian girls, particularly Koreans, working as sex slaves who are captives in the MPs. The trade and these MPs are run by Asians.
There is no doubt that generally people from the USA tip more generously than people from any other country. We expect to tip workers in service industries.
The point the Stickman article was making is that Asian men, particular the Japanese, do not haggle with the girls over the price and are not looking for a GFE or someone to listen to them gush like a lovesick teenagers. It's a simple transaction: the girl names her price; the guy says yes or no; if he says yes they go, fuck, settle the bill and split. Simple.
I expect this is what happened in the encounter I observed. The bar I was in had about two-thirds farang and one-third Japanese customers. The girl had the looks Japanese men find attractive; and she probably focused exclusively on them. She spotted the three guys and played to them. They asked her how much for a foursome. I bet from past experiences she knew in advance this is what they had in mind. The way she danced for them and acted while she sat with them between sets certainly suggested this. She named her price, which was accepted, probably with no haggling. Haggling would have diminished these men's status. They then bought the girl a bunch of lady drinks and paid a bigger than normal bar fine so the bar was happy. Everyone got what they wanted. Simple.
She saw me as a total waste of time and didn't want me to mess up the big score she was working on.
And a few weeks ago there was that fast food chicken place that opened in Bangkok called Hitler's Chicken or something similar with a picture of Hitler in the same mode as Col Sanders. And not too long ago in Terminal 21 as you went on to the 2nd floor, I think it was, there was a small statue of Hitler giving the Hitler salute to greet people. Clearly a lot of Thai's just don't have a clue and probably don't even know what WWII was. To them it is some sort of chic fashion statement. Kind of like Mao became and he killed millions too.
Don't forget all the jack-asses running around with Che Guevara t-shirts.

nanking or nankin were the romanized versions of the city's name. when the pinyin language reform was universally adopted in 1982 the spelling changed to nanjing, which is phonetically correct.
"[CodeWord123]" is very dramatic."massacre" is more descriptive.
by the way, the results of my survey are in. not one person i asked who was under forty (7 people) had heard of either the nanjing massacre or the killing fields. among the people around my age (also 7 people) all knew about the killing fields. only one guy, a retired bus driver in his late 60's, had heard of the nanjing massacre; and he launched into a short history lesson as soon as i asked him if he had heard of it.
Traveler, I also read the Stickman article, with interest. It sheds considerable light on why the girls prefer the Asian men; and it may infuriate some ISG members. I found the description of how the Asian men "bargain" with the girls very interesting. Having worked with Asian businessmen for decades I never believed the claims Asian men overpay the SW. Stickman's article reveals they just use a good negotiation technique: give the girl what she asks for but in return get from her exactly what you want and make sure it's sufficient to justify the price. Smart!
Everything is relative.
In Japan and Korea, it is 'expensive', just like around of golf costing the entire day and $300-500. So for them BKK is good value and they don't think they're overpaying. Any ISG who thinks they're screwing the market price is just naive.
I'm in Phnom Penh now, visited a local Bar with ST available for less than $40 and some folks complain that is overpaying. LOL!

LOL!
I would agree with them seeing that last year I paid no more than $28 LT with girls from HOD and the ones in Martini wanted $40 LT. But I won't complain because what another monger does will never affect my game. I would only speak up to inform him that it was not necessary to pay as much as he did (and I would hope that someone would do the same for me).
Just as if someone said they had been paying 300 for a ST hotel. I would inform them that there was a comparable one around the corner for only 120. I met some new guys in Pattaya last month. It took me 2 minutes to school them that there was no need to give a disco girl more that 1000 baht for all night. They thanked me when I saw them the next night, instead of bit(hing me out for trying to tell them how to spend their money.

Taking American kids as an example is not a good one because that is another very self-centric country without a good educational system (in the public system at least). Any of our magazines and newspapers dedicate ample sections and retrospectives to international issues, theirs don't. We are teached, at least some non-local history, they don't. In the 70s, during the wars in SE Asia, people demonstrated or had to go to war or took the refugees permanently, Thai did nothing of that. 99. 9% of Thai people have no interest whatsoever in other countries beside some football and music. Compare to the Western world where people goes to learn foreign languages, art or cousine just because a personal interest.
Quite. ST was 10 and LT 20 USD not so long ago in PP bars.
Please don't bring in facts, as they don't matter. Remember, "$40 is small money by any standard", "That would have been $400 where I live", "It's my money and I do what want with it", and a recent one "You can't spoil the market because it's self-adjusting anyway". Keep doing guys.
