As of Sunday I am back to Bangkok.
Learned from a gal that I contacted on Tagged that she was free on Monday next bcs its a Buddhist holiday.
Does that means bars / disco's will be closed?
Yes, the bars will be closed on Mon the 22nd and Tues the 23 for the holidays, at least that's the situation in Pattaya.
In that case your stopover better be in Streetwalker / Harold's mom's basement. Besides that, say he does give you some phone numbers. When they arrive at your door, what if you find out that his idea of a gem is not the same as your idea of a gem? I have never understood why some guys attempt to use this method instead of going to pick their own poison. Now THAT's whose number you should be trying to get!
Finally we agree on something. LOL. Reviews and recommendations are useless, chemistry and attraction can't be reviewed. Exception is when girl is so horrible you can be pretty sure she is horrible with all customers.
In fact good performance is not a high priority for me-I place more emphasis and repeat busines on whether the girl and I get along. It's just fun.
Mechanical good service sex is not fun.
If we're lucky enough to live somewhere that has a decent sex industry and know the local industry well we will pay less than the tourist. But frankly I think it is more fun when it's part of ones travels; and even though SF was a trip as I lived there for over 20 years it was too familiar. For me, part of the allure of Bangkok is the foreign, exotic nature of SE Asia; and I do get a hard-on thinking about all those LBFM who find me to be such a hansum man!
Bangkok is far from exotic now and becoming less by the day. Just another large Asia city. Now, the rest of Thailand has some "exotic" left, but not that much.
I think your friend is getting a good deal. Of course he lives there and the place I went to was just off Union Square. The $260 broke down with the ladies getting $200 and the MP $60 for the hour. I did back-to-back-to-back sessions with one lady and saved a couple hundred bucks. Gave her $500 and only paid the MP $60 for the first hour; and I got her number so I can make arrangements to see her outside the MP on my next trip this fall.
I flew in and out from the East Coast, USA. My flight was 1/4th the cost of a flight to BKK. I stayed at the InterContinental, which cost me about the same as in Bangkok (US$180 per night). The rack rate in SF is higher, but who pays that? I spent a lot more on food; dinner at Benu cost more than a night at the hotel! The weather was better than Bangkok; 80 degrees and sunny, and it was early July; should have been low 60's with fog and overcast. San Francisco is a fantastic city; it was a much shorted flight which is easier on this old body; and it probably ended up costing me about the same as a trip to Bangkok.
Still, I look forward to my next trip to Bangkok like a child anticipating Christmas. In my opinion Bangkok is a monger's paradise and offers so many opportunities for great sex with great girls at very reasonable prices. I only go to the GoGos for the show; and I don't mean the energetic, expert dancing. Haha. I get a big kick out of watching the customers and how the girls interact with them. I had fun fantasizing about the three Japanese guys gang banging the GoGo dancer while I was banging an FL later that night!
For sex I mostly go with the MPs. THB2300 for a two-hour PSE can't be beat. For a special treat I'll book one of my favorite escorts and get 8 hours for far less than I paid for the three hours in San Francisco; and I'll get unlimited pops and no clock watching with a very lovely and highly skilled lady, with BBBJ, CIM, rimming, FS and A-level. How much do you think that would cost with a high-end escort in SF? To round out the trip I'll procure a few FLs in the clubs. It's fun to hunt, especially when you're certain of bagging your game. I only do ST, pay no more than THB2500 and verify I'm going to get everything I want; and I only pay THB2500 if the girl is particularly sexy. I do the ST because after a couple of hours I want the girl out of my room so I can sleep. First thing in the morning all I want is my coffee and some time to plan who I'm going to f$%k next.
Resident or visitor. Really is a big difference. For those of us that have lived here for a long time, getting laid is like going to McDonald's. It is pretty much always available. One becomes quite picky in all aspects. Looks, attitude, performance, it all plays a role. Minute details can become a big turnoff: a hair on a nipple, changing the rhythm of a BJ at the wrong moment, a annoying voice or laugh, a labia not quite the shape you like, the texture of the vagina, a skin blemish, etc. As a tourist you are far less likely to notice these things or to care if you do. As a resident these details tend to become more and more important the longer you are here. It ceases to be just about fun and unfortunately you become more of a connoisseur. Well, at least that has happened to me.
How does this relate to price? As I have stated many times on this forum, I have no issue paying good money for an excellent experience with a great looking girl who has an amazing skill set and knows the male body well. I do have an issue paying good money for a 15 min romp with a farm girl who does not know her own body, not to mention her way around a p*nis. Unfortunately this is case even in the oilies at times. The days of Baron's and early Tulip when all the gals were well trained and pleasant to look at are gone as are the days of BKK being an inexpensive exotic city. A bit sad really.

I'm in SE Florida as I write this post. I remember Miami in the early 1960's. It was beautiful. Now it is crowded and ugly, and most people living here still seem to love it.
Actually, I think Bangkok is down right ugly too; with bits of beauty embedded in it; and it is dirty and congested. Though it is visually ugly, I still find Bangkok to be exotic. Thai food in Bangkok is amazing. I love being able to buy food from a street stall, sit on a plastic chair at a little plastic table on the sidewalk and eat delicious freshly cooked food. The fact that I have to stare at my feet while I walk so I don't twist an ankle on the uneven, broken sidewalk is a nuisance; and narrowly missing walking into the pointed end of a rod that is sticking from a post at eye level and projecting into the space about to be occupied by may face is more than a nuisance. Yes Bangkok has it's problems, but I sure look forward to my next visit.

I look at the expats residing in Bangkok with a mixture of sympathy and envy. Your remarks speak to what elicits these feelings. I had a good friend who was a music critic and wrote for an important paper in the USA. He often complained that concerts and classical radio bored him because everything was too familiar and sounded the same. I envied his vast knowledge of classical music, but was very happy that I could still get excited over a good program on BBC Radio 3. Sometimes I think in a couple of years I should retire and move to Bangkok. But then I wonder. I look forward to the f*#king feast I gorge myself on while I'm there, but would I want to do that month after month, year after year? I think the menu would seem more and more limited over time. One of the things I like about this silly mongers' forum is the sense I get of how guys who live in Bangkok think and feel about their lives in the LOS. Thanks guys.

No offense to Mr G. But he is quite the downer. I've been cumming to BKK for 8.5 years. It has never been better.
And yes it is not the same to live here as being a short time tourist. For one thing, like Mr G, I am quite picky as to how I spend my money.
You just have to adjust.

I will never miss having to keep one eye on the ground to avoid holes and the other up to avoid having my forehead speared by an awning pole. But I miss the wonderful street food every day. The smells, the traffic, the beggars, the beautiful chicks on the Skytrain. They all combine into an interesting sensory overload.

You didn't realize, at the time, that you would get extremely bored riding Space Mountain every day. I'm not an expat yet, but will be. Whether or not it's Thailand is still open to debate. But I've seen enough to know that easy and readily available sex is fun for a while, but wears thin quickly. If you don't have some sort of other interests, some sort of "family" relationship, or some other social "anchor," you're screwed.
Seriously I and the majority all agree hot agogo girls are just crap if you want to have a good time. They are there for a quick fuck, whatever else you get from them is just gravy.
I have to disagree Harold. Since new year I have probably taken near to twelve girls from go-go's and only had one bad performance which was partly my fault for not establishing some basic do's and don'ts before agreeing to the bar-fine. The bar was Billboard and the lady was number 82. Now I am not going to castigate either the venue or even the lady based on one performance. We all have off days, I know I do. I try to establish what I expect with the lady before I pay the BF. What works well is to try to do this without making it sound like a job interview, ask a couple of questions and then have a laugh and joke for five minutes or so. The final trick which seems to work well is to wait for her to mention the BF and act like I am 50/50 for a few minutes rather than jumping at the first mention of a BF like a love struck puppy.
However I have to agree that generally you do get a higher percentage of good performers from non go-go venues.
Regards,
BJ

Appreciate the honest feedback. I do have some phone numbers and either I will try that or just land up at Mango or Cherry (fruits, eh?).
Thanks for your sense of humor. Keeps the life going. But seriously. I do really want to meet you once in real life, you do have something special about you. Not everyone displays such sense of humor.
The only Baccara girl I picked was a piece of shit. LOL. Number 066.
You know I wonder if she relayed to all the girls that they don't have to have sex with me to get paid. LOL.

Seriously if you want good service you have to go ugly-although I've never actually tried this theory out. I the rather waste money on a pretty girl than get good service from an ugly one. LOL.
Thats how I found my all time favorite.
You might want to ask Sir L how he does it. Seems he is quite good at picking good performers. LOL.
No, I will not get Ploy's number from someone here. I'd rather make the trip to Cherry and pay her there and then get her number by my self. Doing things the right way. !
And thanks for pointing out this from Goat's post. I had almost missed the crux of it.

The last few Holidays they've been shut down completely. My source never knows till the end what the situation will be like.
I do recall Patpong being open- but who cares about Patpong (aka litlle Pattaya. LOL.).
My source is a very knowledgeable cocktail server in R 2. They know everything.
If you want a well rounded life.Do not live in Thailand. LOL. If you like one of the 2 things Thai. Is famous for-go for it. The 2 things being bargirls and rice. LOL.
Yes, the bars will be closed on Mon the 22nd and Tues the 23 for the holidays, at least that's the situation in Pattaya.
An exception to the closures is usually the bars in the big hotels. For example, on Soi 4 the Golden Bar (beer bar?) out front of the Nana Hotel is quite crowded and one of the few bars open on an otherwise somewhat dark soi. Key here is "big hotel". Some member more knowledgeable than me could advise which of these might be packed with FL choices.

It is bar none the best food city on the planet, an amazing number of coffee roasters who do beautiful single origins from all over the world. There is an ok music scene with hardcore, punk, garage rock, etc. I don't need a car, a motorbike suffices. I have a great set of friends here as well.
Adjust I have. With the sex scene not as it was, there are other things to enjoy and one can still tear one off as needed.
