The double standards in LOS
While I agree that when you are in a foreign country, it is always wise to keep your mouth shut when you feel like criticizing members of the government, or royalty, though you could be sitting in any pub in England and call Prince Charles an "ass", and nobody would care, I find it quite repulsive that this Nicolaides fellow, poor chap finds himself in a Thai jail for 3 years, for simply saying in his book that he "suggested that there was abuse of royal power". Meanwhile, the instigators of the airport debacle, which have done immeasurable harm to the Thai economy, some of whom of course, are members of the government, continue to live their lavish lifestyle, waiting in the wings for another situation with which they disagree, so they may "peacefully" occupy some government building, or worse, closed down the airport. AGAIN
where are the priorities of the people in charge?
Can u briefly expand.......
the Thai economy on the verge of a far worse melt-down than '97, l.
I looked at the baht vs dollar back before 97 and then 98. BIG jump and in fact I see the baht to dollar was as low as 25 at one point. What happened in LOS that caused the ratio to jump in 98? Do you see it headed in the same direction, even though the U.S. and most of the world is in trouble too.
