The lodge was great last night. Not full but enough people to make it interesting. Went out to dinner with what I consider a stunner last night . Enjoyed some good food and music. Came back to the hotel and preceded to get down to business. A little of this and a little of that. Pretty soon the naked body was laying next to me and she wanted to fulfill her dreams . At least that is what she said. She quickly started bbbj and proceded to lick many parts. This got me going so i felt I should do the same for her. She quickly agreed and away we went. A complete evening to say the least. Will see her again but must sample some other possibilities.
Somehow my last post yesterday was wrong . Ziggy27 is not me.

Did you end up going someplace in BKK to try to get an extension? If so, where is that place located and what was your experience there?

I'm trying to understand the complex Visa rules and procedures in Thailand, so any additional comments and suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Being in a situation like yours and having read your post, I spoke at length to the immigration officer on my arrivall at BKK earlier this week.
He spoke excellent English, definitely understanding what I was asking.
He assured me, that upon reentry to Thailand from say Laos, I would be given the normal 30 day visa (again). He said, that it was the only one he could actually give.
Many years ago, in the UK, it was at the sole discretion of the immigration officer, how long a stay he allowed a "non-commonwealth" national....
I'll just risk it..

Had a layover in Seoul on my way back to th US. On 2nd floor there is a Transit hotel. Ask anyone and they will point you to it. Clean, quiet, cheap. Everything you need. About $8 per hour. I paid $48us for 6hrs. Best deal I have found while traveling. Hope I can find other airports with similar. What a pleasure to shower, sleep in a good bed, and repack before another 12 hour flight.

Nothing new at all.

If you do not have a visa, airline check in staff will ask to see your return ticket, they want you to have one, and will kick up a fuss if you have a one way ticket and no visa.

The rules on arrival for most Euro/US etc.. is that you get 4 weeks "tourist" entry on arrival and you must have a ticket out when you arrive that they can see.

If you wish to do a visa run after the 28 days expires, you will get 15 days additional is you re-enter Thailand by a land border, or another 28 days if you arrive via an airport.

The normal 90 days in 180 days applies for these visa free entries, as in you can stay a maximum of 90 days in Thailand on this kind of entry. If you go pass 90 days you will not be allowed back in, unless you have a valid visa.

The "visa on arrival" service you see prior to passport control is only for certain types of tourists who do not get the standard 28 days that most others get. They must apply for a visa at the airport, and normally get between 15 days and 28 days. This is not a visa service for all, it is only a visa service for certain nationalities who are not allowed to enter without a visa but who are allowed to apply on arrival.

At airport, that was it. When walking from the arrival gate there is actually a VISA office just before passport control, several foreign people are waiting but nobody in that office (was early morning)

If you come back across the bridge to Nong Khai or another land border, you will get only 15 days.

Visa Exemption

With effect from 06 December 2008 any person eligible to enter Thailand under the “Visa Exemption Rule” will be granted a stay of maximum 30 days but only if entering the Kingdom via an international airport. Persons entering Thailand through a land border checkpoint from a neighboring country will be granted a maximum stay of just 15 days.

Passport holders of the 48 countries listed below are entitled to enter Thailand under the “Visa Exemption Rule” provided they meet all of the following criteria:-

a) Purpose of visit is strictly tourism.

b) Must be in possession of a confirmed flight ticket (e-ticket acceptable) to show they will be flying out of Thailand within 30 days or 15 days of entry, as appropriate.

Open tickets do not qualify. Travelling overland out of Thailand by train, bus, etc to Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia (including en route to Singapore), Myanmar
(Burma), etc is not accepted as proof of exiting Thailand.

You may be asked to show your flight ticket on entering Thailand. If you do not possess a flight ticket to show you will be exiting Thailand within 30 or 15 days of entry you are likely to be refused entry and may not even be allowed to check in for your flight to Thailand.

c) Having access to living expenses of 20,000 baht (approx £300) per person or 40,000 baht (approx £600) per family. It may be necessary to be able to prove this on entry.

A visa fee may be levied on persons entering Thailand under the Visa Exemption Rule.

A fee is payable for this visa - 1,900 baht (approx £30) – on entry, subject to change without notice.

There is a growing trade in medical tourism in BKK and other places. I thought this ad from the front page of todays Bangkok Post was interesting.

BKK has had a large dental and medical tourism for a long time. From AU I know families that had their teeth done, they got a two week family vacation in Thailand and the dental work done for what it would cost them in AU for just one persons dental work.

My medical insurance sends me to MNL and in some cases to BKK for medical procedures since items can not be done where I live. It's cheaper and better services then in USA or other countries.

There's a lot of Visa info on the board lately.

I'm American and arrived from the USA on October 8, 2008 and received the normal 30 day visa. On October 28 I traveled to Aranyapathet Thailand by bus and walked across the border to Poipet Cambodia and stayed there for 3 days. I walked back across the border on October 31 and was given another 30 day visa. Was not asked any questions or to see my airline ticket.

Since I was only going to be in Thailand for a few more days, even if they gave me the 15 days that I had read on the Thai government web site it wouldn't have mattered to me for this trip. If i needed more than 15 days I don't think I would have risked the crossing even if it were at the beginning of my trip and my total stay would have been less than 30 days.

I hope this does not break any rules Jackson[/QUOTE]The Phratnum polly clinic is a whole in the wall clinic that you would not want to go to. i freind of mine came to get some breast work and i went with her and the clinic was dirty and not the type of place you would want to have any medical done. She ended up paying double at a real clinic and had her surgery at a hospital instead upstairs on the poly clinics dirty sheets.
