Cartagena Reports

I have a few questions for those of you who are more experienced than me with the Cartagena and Medellin sex scene. I am planning another trip to Cartagena, with a probable 3 day side trip to Medellin. This will be the first time I have been in Colombia near a major religious holiday. I am planning an 11 day stay. I can make the trip in the last week of February or during the first week of March.

Holy Week, (Easter), is in mid March this year. As Colombia is a Catholic country, I was wondering if going in early in March and staying until the middle of March is a bad idea or a good idea. Do the girls go home for the holidays a week before Easter or do they stay in Cartagena until Easter Sunday? What about Medellin? How does the week preceding Easter affect the availability of the ladies, both pros and pregagos in both these cities? Does anyone know when the colleges give the students Easter vacation, as I assume some of the ladies might head to Cartagena to make a few quick bucks before going home to their families for Easter Sunday. When is college Easter break in Colombia and how does that vacation for the college girls affect the sex scene in Cartagena and Medellin?

Next question. I only speak tourist level basic Spanish, which creates some problems when trying to negotiate and communicate with the ladies. Things can get easily misconstrued. Can any of you tell me the system in place at the Pleyboy club for taking the talent back to my condo while the club is still open. I was in there on my last trip and saw some absolute stunners. In a perfect world, (when I am sober and willing to wait 10 hours to get laid), I would give them my phone number and ask them to call me the next day for lunch and a quick romp. As I recall, the price the girls usually asked was somewhere in the 100 dollar range if they met me the next day. If I wanted to take one of the stunners out of the club that same night, I am assuming there is some fee to the bar as well as paying the girl. Is the price the girl quotes me the only price or is there an establishment fee or early work release fee that you have to pay in addition to the girls fee if she leaves the club with you while they are still open?

Last question. A guy I know was in Bogota a year or so ago for 7 days. He claims he hired an English speaking cab driver to be his driver and translator for the entire time he was in Bogota. He also claims he got this service, (car, driver, and translator) for 100 dollars a day. Although I have never needed a full time translator to get by in Cartagena, I was wondering if it might be better if I had one in Medellin. Have any of you had experiences with hiring translators to stay with you while you mongered and what was the going rate per day or night for this type of service? I have never needed it in Cartagena on my prior trips, but if the service was available and reasonable, I might have considered it.

I will be there for a few days since I will be in Bogota next week on business and my bro is coming down for the weekend so I figured it would be nice to take him on a side trip to CTG.

I wanted to ask you how the regular scene is there now with regards to the regular clubs where the young regular folk go to near the Castellana Mall/Arsenal District and in the old city. When I was there in 2005 I went to some places but I forgot the names. I know about LDV and I used to go to Trippleterra, are there any places similiar to Trippleterra around any longer?

I like hybrid spots were I can get a decent priced bottle and scope out the scene, invite chicks ove to the table and converse and party then maybe come back to my place later. LDV is too upfront for my tastes sometimes. I like a more relaxed atmosphere.

You can get bottle service at the regular places MrBabilla, Babar, and other discos in el centrol. Prepagos will find you, depending on how busy cartagena is the week you are there. Remember, as everywhere else in Colombia unless there is an event going on Fri and Sat nights is when everyone is out partying.

Semana Santa starts the Sat. 8 days before Easter Sunday. It is one huge party in CTG and a fairly big one in MDE. I prefer to avoid CTG during this time because it is overcrowded and the room rates are double or more. MDE also commands a slight premium during this week. There will be no shortage of girls in either city during this time.

College break is the same as Semana Santa.

This is my report of few days of mongering in Colombia, both in Bogotá and Cartagena. See the General report for the practicalities.

I based my two days trip on Black Page reports #2385 and following. I decided to follow his suggestions. DIVA and Tu Candeleria are easy to find in the Reloj Square. The real action starts around midnight. I was extremely disappointed: in DIVA, there were only two girls and in Tu Candeleria about 10, none of them being stunning. So I decided to go to La Dolce Vita (LDV) near the Casino. I expected a more high-end place but it was rather similar to the usual joint of that kind. There were about 30 girls of all kind, but to my surprise very few with manmade breasts. Bad luck, I am a tit man, and I really did not find anyone who was really fancy. As I am a relatively good salsa dancer, I invited one of the best looking girl though, and she did not seem to appreciate me, and when I tried to invite another one for a merengue, she refused! (NB: I am a slim man in is mid-thirties with a gentleman attitude). What a strange attitude!

So sorry to contradict you Black Page. I have also mongered few years, and one of the reason I have chosen Colombia for my vacation is precisely because I have a good mileage with the Colombians from the Caribbean and I found these generally more beautiful than the ones of Cartagena.

Maybe it was a bad day or maybe I am becoming too demanding or my story with my beloved in Cartagena (see in the general report) has turned me into a nice prince with less appetite! But honestly, compared to Bogotá (see my report in the other section), I did not find the quality here to be exceptional.

El carnaval de Barranquilla this is a city 2 hours far from Cartagena and this week start a carnaval de barranquilla is like halloween but you not ask for candys just beer or vodka, or something who make you drunk and have fun.

I tend to like Mi Candela, and Electra after 1am. Those are more my style. I have not found too much in Bogota that I liked. I had one nice session from a girl at bar Juan Pablo, but in general I have not enjoyed Bogota. Electra is awesome after hours in CTG though.

I guess that that situation varies much. There must be ups and downs. What you describe is different from what I saw and what I wrote. When I went to Diva or Tu Candela, there were not many girls, but some was really stunning.

I hope I/we will have better luck the day I'll return.

Does anyone know if there are any dry days coming up in CTG? I seem to frequently have the misfortune of being there during these days and, as much as I love Cartagena, it's pretty dull when the bars are closed :-)

I've reserved, but yet to pay for, flights for late February and would appreciate any info. Any other opinions about CTG in late February would also be appreciated.
