The reason why the bar names don't matter is that you can get short time all up and down Soi 6 for 1000 Baht (maybe the exception of the Nightwish bars). You don't have to haggle for hours or go with the ugly girls either. As recent posts show, paying an extra 300 or 400 is absolutely no indication of better service. I've never had a Soi 6 girl refuse oral or stop early or any of that. A lot of them even take it up the bum. I've never paid extra for that on Soi 6 going back about 2 decades now.
This seems to be the trend with white guys in Asia over the last 10-15 years who somehow establish "going rates" that aren't really going at all. You can read on this board about guys going to 252 Massage in Phnom Penh and paying $15+$50 or more when the real rates paid by every Chinese customer there are $7+$25. Or you can read about guys going to the NPK HTGDs in Ho Chi Minh City and paying 500,000 VND for blowjobs when the real rate paid by Vietnamese guys and white guys who know better is 300,000 VND. Other guys go to Makati go gos where the barfines are absolutely negotiable and have over thousands of Pesos they could just have easily have kept in their pockets. The worst part about it all is that the guys paying more almost always get equivalent or worse service.
I feel sorry for guys getting poor service at higher rates, but there's not much I can do except pass on my experiences. Have fun and be safe.

Soi 6 girls are full-time, brothel-based, experienced, hardcore hookers, not part-timers or "I sell sex for money but can still deny I'm a working girl" disco girls. If your offer is accepted it is because the product is inferrior? Makes no sense at all. You can walk into a Mercedes dealership and they can tell you $55000 for a car. In 2 seconds you can say no, $50000 is all I will pay. If they don't accept it you can STILL pay the original $55000 price you were given. It is not like you have to walk off and start from scratch if someone does not take your counter offer. But you lose absolutely nothing but 2 seconds by making a counter offer. If it is accepted then you have just saved money.
I bought my motorcycle back in the States on ebay. They had it listed for $3700. I sent them a message saying I would pay $3000. They said fine. I went and picked up the bike and it has worked perfectly for the 3 years that I have had it.
Recently on ebay someone had a scuba BCD for sale for $190. I sent them a message saying I would pay $150. They said $175. I said fine and bought it. Even if they would have said they would not take less than $190, then I would have still bought it for that original price because I really wanted it. But it cost me nothing to try to get a cheaper price. Same shit in the bars of Pattaya. Does not mean there was something wrong with it, nor does it mean I had to look for a new one because they did not take my $150 offer.

In Las Vegas, for instance, virtually every attraction from the High Roller wheel to tickets for big shows offer a "Locals discount". Many of the restaurants and buffets also offer lower prices for locals as well.
This just seems to be a standard promotion that many businesses utilize to get repeat business from people who live nearby, and will hopefully come back often.
Seems to me this is just smart marketing.

They do not need to be lead around by the dick or paired up with another chick that worked out well for the next guy.

If you live in Thailand and have regulars you would be mad to share them. I will be once maybe twice a year so I don't care if the girls talk to me or not next time I see them. Sharing information should be acted fast due to the turn over of girls in the difference venues.

The taxi example is spot on. If you only care about getting to Pattaya from the airport (I. e. Bust a nut) and don't care how you get there, someone will accept your low price if they really need the money. However, if you only will go to Pattaya if you like the driver, and there are only a handful of drivers that you like amongst the hundreds of taxi drivers there, offering a low price will substantially increase you chances of not going to Pattaya.

That is not true at all. But you best believe if I set you with a chick and you are an asshole to her or things go sour, word will get around then. Of the half dozen or so marginally doable-to-attractive girls I saw, met and chatted with out of hundreds on Soi 6 in my 3-4 visits to Pattaya over the same number of recent years, none of them were up for so much as a BBBJ+CIM with me.
