Street 63 is dangerous. No hype.
Ok, so I had already read all the reports against going to St 63. But I was curious...
So I had a walk down from Sorya shopping center, to see what I might find. After about 15 mins of walking, I wasn't seeing anything interesting, so headed back on the other side. Passed a place with motos sitting around. One called out 'massage'. I asked him how much and where they were. Upstairs, $10. Fine, I'm not going to haggle.
He opens those big metal doors in front of every shop and then closes them behind me. I'm on my guard, my boxing training always present and ready, should something untoward happen. I was wearing a pouch with my $1400 camera in it too, perhaps this wasn't wise. Anyway, I'd rather have it with me, than in my hotel which anyone could get into. I sat down and looked at the available talent. 4 girls, a couple cute. Choose one, go upstairs into a seedy little room with condoms on the floor.
Clothes off, hang them on the wall next to the door. Interesting, I note how she moved mine closer to the door. Alarm bells were going off, probably should've been going off louder come to think of it. So anyway, I declined her suggestion of a massage with my face down. So i jumped on top and started plowing her. I don't know what triggered me to look behind, for there was no sound, but I did and saw a hand reaching into the room. I yelled and jumped toward the door, the hand disappeared quickly and was gone. I checked my stuff. All there. I wasn't done, but still hard. Maybe excitement like this is really my kind of thing, but I wasn't going to gamble further. I ripped the condom off and got dressed. I knew this must've been the same place that ripped Pirate1 off, so I was expecting pipe-weilding thugs to be hanging around. As it happened, no-one was around. I left, not before letting the guy know my feelings about his style of business.
I feel pretty stupid. People who run businesses like these with a crowd of girls in a squalid little shack, certainly are a little low on moral fiber. Putting yourself behind their closed doors, will very certainly lead to no good. I'm still wondering how I managed to escape with everything. Maybe it's their system, get someone in, try to steal, if there's trouble, call the heavies. My girl, just as much a victim I guess, although complicit in the whole operation, was nonetheless cute. I guess, though I didn't ask at the time given my fury, it might have been better as a take-out rather than dine-in. Either way, I'm sticking to more up-and-up establishments from now on.
Big thank you to Pirate1 and Phantomtiger2 for their reports. Without the underlying sense of insecurity that those posts gave me, I might have lost everything. For those wondering where this place was, it was on St 63 around St 174 or 178 intersections. All I can remember is the gates to the shop were light blue.
