I have noticed this also, and I don't think this is really sexist either. The culture in the DR lends itself for the woman to be subservient to the man. If the woman sees the man as a "pushover" she tends not to respect him. On the other hand if the man sets limits and is not afraid to say "no" to her, she respects him more.

This concept was explained to me when I first joined these boards a couple years ago as being a Tigre'. I have been with a few chica's who I later found out had a predatory reputation and because I didn't put up with them pushing me around, they turned into real sweethearts. It got to be funny to me because at times the less I spent on them beside normal courtesies, the better they treated me. Now I am NOT talking about NOT treating the chicas nice, but do it on your terms not theirs.

What better way to learn then to just listen and not repeat what they find offensive? My favorite lesson was being invited to a Colombian man's house and having his mother tell me how terrible the Colombian men treated their women.

Though I have been challenged to numerous fights, by Brits, Americans, Europeans etc, both male and female all drunk of course.

I keep to myself and enjoy and respect the country which I'm in.

Let's face it countries don't change people.

If your a slob, prick, drunk or whatever back home your that way in other countries.

Because I'm a gentleman, mind you not a pushover or wimp but a gentleman the woman in USA say they need more thug like behaviors, which to me sounds like one step away from a 911 call.

The Latin and Asian women even in my own country I have great success with.

At the end of the day a woman enjoys being admired for her beauty and feminity in the company of others treat her like a queen, and behind closed doors handle your business.

You have put forth a theory that in practice has been proven wrong. Costa Rica as a prime example, Panama as the newest example. The list goes on as I am reading even Ecuador is being affected by guys who insist on paying 2 times and + the long standing established market norm before "THEY" had arrived
