Long time lurker, and finally making a trip to Bangkok tomorrow for a week. I am a tad nervous and wanted to see if any other members will be around. Would be cool to have a vet sorta show me the ropes in exchange for some beers. Or he'll even a fellow noob would be awesome.

Just got back from my first trip to Bangkok. Went to Cherry Massage, Apple Massage, Boss Massage as well as many Soi 22 massage places. Tried Nana Plaza gogo bars as Well as Soi Cowbow bars. Went to Lolipops and Dr BJ's. The were all pretty good, but the best action I found were the girls on Soi 4. 1,500 ST and that often led to all night. Finally make it to the Bell Depot, I really like the way they have maintained greenery around it. Have a quick fag and and take my favorite front seat in the mini van. The driver is real chatty and tells me that I will be the last to be dropped being on Soi 8, he will do all the odd numbered drop off first. Can't do much about that. 4 pm minimum is on the cards, so I start planning the evening of which sites to hit first, where to fit in dinner etc. Finally make it to the hotel and into the room, dorks have given me a windowless coffin. This happens when you are booking a few nights, have no mood to argue or ask for a change. Order room service, so starved and step into the shower. Unpack quickly and watch some tele waiting for the food to arrive. Its now close to 6pm. Decide to just take it easy, reconfirm my flight for the day after and get my wardrobe ready for the nights activities.
Head straight to Nana Plaza, it had rained between the time I checked in and now. I grab a seat on one of the bars after the entrance. Lots of balloons everywhere, and they are giving out some white chits of paper for a raffle later. Get myself a drink and enjoy watching beauty after beauty being arriving on their mopeds to work. This is a fine spot, the service girl was getting a bit cosy and gave me a impromptu shoulder massage. I ask her if she is hungry and we order some satay sticks from the joint at Nana entrance. Only thing which completely turns me off is she gives me this iron-fisted handshake when her turn for dancing comes. She has real rough hands, very strange. Call another tall lady with slapper abs down and offer her a drink, she quotes me 4000K for LT till 6am. I can't be asked waking up at 6, so decide to cut the losses, and head to the smaller rainbow 3. This is one is smaller, and you can smoke inside too. Talk to a dusky wonder with a huge rack, she wants to do ST only and wants to use the room upstairs.
Never mind, another tab and head to Spanky's. A few western couples, business guys in their laundered trousers and white shirts. At the station I find this dog, who is stretched out and getting loads of attention from passersby. Get into the sky train, it is packed, drop my bag to the floor and hold it between my feet. Close my eyes for a bit and the next thing I hear is the elongated,"the next stations is Nannaaaaaa, Nanaaaaa".
Pack the goodies, do a mental weight check, Etihad gives only 23 kilos. Cheapskates. Look at the watch, there is still some time. Make a dash to Soi 7 just across to Dr BJ's. Pick one of the consultants, haa haaa, a consultant blowing a consultant. Into the booth, down with the pants, a quick wash in the sink and lay back to enjoy the experience. Breeze through the duty free, don't want any of those overpriced elephant shaped chocolates, nor the electronics which are cheaper in town, orthe overpriced Jim Thompson silks. On board, take off and my eyes are teary looking down at the grey landscape. This is not unusual, it happens every landing and take off, every travel made creates a life long bond. Going to make this as quick a report as I can.

Or else after you step out of customs area in Bangkok airport, on your left you will find three shops selling sims and internet cards, I would say very reasonably priced, you can always top up if you so desire
