Hi Gents,
I´m looking to stay in Bkk for a month in an apartment up to B12000, however the places I have found through various searches have minimum rental periods of 3 or 6 months.
Anyone know of places that will rent for a month only?
The other option is long term discount at a hotel. Any recommendations?
Cheers
Sainter,
no need to post the very same question in two threads.
Look in the Bangkok Hotels section, hope the link may be of help.
Google may also provide some useful results.

While I agree with you in part - RCA has an extremist rant that grossly over-states the situation, you are wrong that there are not changes towards foreigners. It is much tougher for expats to stay here than it has ever been in the past. I suspect that there will continue to be increasing expat exits either by choice or by force over the next while. The requirements necessary to be allowed to stay here for any length of time are becoming more stringent all the time.
I find myself in an odd predicament at times. Living in Thailand for so long I catch myself bitching about this country quite a bit. Yet, when someone attempts to judge this nation, I do defend my home of choice.
RCA Knight claims intend to save the 'poor masses', then posts in another thread his experiences with the local girls. Yeah, right on. I take it RCA takes a pragmatic role in helping the underprivileged.
Rant over.
The anti-foreign sentiment has worsened since the junta took over...This country is really going backward intentionally just to benifit these feudal lords that control the whole country...
On the other hand, these feudal lords will have stronger and stronger grips of the power, national wealth and national resources. Not very bright future at all.
I see that Jungle Bluebird believes salaries and standard of living is on the increase for educated professionals with MBA's & english skills. I believe JB was refering to thai professionals and I dont believe RCA Knight was refering to that social thai strata.Yes inflation and wage increases basically happen, always did. I believe RCA was talking about un-educated thais, the poor.
Crypton thinks its a sleeper repeating the whole quote with a ZZZZ responce, thanks i'd like to be with who your banging. I am joking. But yeah stay happy.
Old Thai Hand does mention that staying here is becoming more difficult.
Cronologically speaking didnt the visa law come into effect after the Mr. Carr spoof and before the coup? And who planted the bombs around WTCthai at midnight when prior to that time about a hundred police were hanging around to close down the ceremony? Well i am sure they just didnt see anything and i am glad they helped us as there would of been alot more casualities.
All i am saying is RCA makes some interesting points and i would like to thank him for his submittal and Crypton for repeating it.
P.S. I ate Lamb Egg yesterday at a Middle Eastern place to my astonishment it ended up being lamb testicals. I didnt like it. The taste reminded me of the beef brains i tasted once, so maybe its possible people can think with thier dicks.
Seems like members don't read my major points. Maybe my post is too long or too difficult for this forum. I think I better number some major points.
1. the anti foriegn agenda of the feudal lords is not something you run into on the street or restaurants. Its much deeper.
2. the biggest foriegn killer is not the visa issue, not the foreign currency issue, not the long stay issue, its deeper, it involves the cleansing of the whole foriegn economy and influences issues.
3. Just a quick reminder, that all foriegn enterprises in Thailand will have to somehow sell down or give away 51% of their assests to their Thai "strategic partners" as the feudal lords call them, in 1-2 years, set by the feudal junta.
4. This basically involves the entire foriegn assests in the country, stretching from all field of enterprises. This involves emplyment of millions of Thai workers.
5. unfortunately, selling down shares at garbage price to some untrustworthy Thais or giving away your assets probably won't make any difference. So whats the only choice of thousands of foriegn enterprises, to withdraw and leave.
6. Some foriegn enterprises are in wait and see atitude because they will not want to lose so much if they dump their enterprises now, hoping things to change, but a big portion of foreign enterprises are intend to dump and sell their assests before the feudal lords get to them in 1-2 years time.
7. this is the biggest foriegn killer, it can wipe out an entire whole foriegn economy and influences in several years time. Thats why i said this country is moving backward for the sake of these few feudal gods.
8. Thailand after the coup ranks with Indonesia, Myanmar, and Filippines as the least attractive investment destinations in Asia and highest in political and social risks for foreign investments.
9. by going total feudal and backward in economic and social freedoms, it solidify the power and interests of these feudal gods, sacrifying the benifits of the entire 95% of poor masses. encouraging them the feudal concept of self sufficeincy, to keep the massive poors in their tamed, ignorant, uneducated state and in thier proper place.
10. foriegn assets mean foriegn power or foriegn influences, if this is suppressed by the feudal gods, they have a free roam of their entire horizon, can continue manipulate their predominant poor masses.
But in the interest of us mongers, this may not be a bad idea at all, the poors stay poor and even more poor, more people losing jobs, and the self sufficency economy actually will turn into self insufficency, then more and more girls will try to perform own self sufficency in the big cities, making their ways into massages, agogos, karaokes, ect. So as long as these feudal gods in control, we mongers do not have to worry about the supply of chickens.
So pick your side.
RCA Knight,
I basically agree on your message reg. the sentiment against foreigners in Thailand, but your take on that matter seams way to strong for me.
Copa Cabana is indeed very nice, with many top-shelf girls, who give absolutely the best service! Would highly recommend it! Also Caesar's Entertainment complex, Malibu, and Poseidon.
Thought the topics here were supposed to be about sex. Since I am new to this forum, am I mistaken?
There is a thread called "Bangkok Massage Parlours" that the first part of your post would fit into. :-)
But I agree that I would have thought all the political stuff in the Bangkok thread could well move to the "General" thread.
I am assuming that "General" means non-sexual but I could be wrong.
I would also prefer to be reading mongering reports in the Bangkok thread but not too upset really. Its no big deal.
from Mr Yak

If the junta is sincere in reform and making the country forward, why don't they reform the foriegn business act once for all, if they themselves know its backward and feudal. why don't they follow the path of other Asian backwaters like China and Vietnam ect which have really opened up their market to foreigners. Now foreigners can easily achieve full owership and control in pratically all main fields including sensitive areas like finance and banking. Look the impact of their opening up, the people in China and Vietnam as a whole are enjoying much better standards of living because of massive foreign investments. Are the Thai feudal gods intentionally blind??or more worried about their own grip to power?
On the contrary to reform, the Thai feudal junta is enforcing a backward law that previous governments were too afraid to touch, because previous governments knew so well this one is too illogical and backward, but previous governments were afraid to revise it and offend the Thai local enterprises which are well connected to feudal gods themselves.
The new junta, instead of sincere reform for the sake of the entire poor nation, it went the other way, start enforcing the feudal law that all previous governments knew was backward and let it sit. This really show the true hidden agenda of this feudal junta, a clear intention to cleanse foreign influences for their own sake by utilizing this once dead rule.
PS. according to this ranking by Economic Risk Consultancy (Perc) on today's Bangkok post that Giotto mentioned, Thailnd is after China, then Thailand, Filippines, India, Indonesia. Thailand now is the last group of totally unacceptable nations for investments. Remember a few years ago, Thailand was a hot investment destination along with Malaysia, China, vietnam. But now it has become a clear place to avoid just like Indonesia or Filippines. By the way, the article of the Bangkok Post that Giotto mentioned reads as "Foreigners see rising problems in Thailand business", not very promising title.
here is the opening quote from the article: The Political and Economic Risk Consultancy (Perc) said yesterday in its latest survey that "risks are rising sharply in Thailand as a result of the continuing domestic political problems and the possibility of social unrest." It added that "conditions could deteriorate in 2007."
RCA and others
Since this political debate has gone on longer than anyone expected, may I suggest moving it to the Thai Politics thread?
Sorry, lets get back to the ladies.
RCA Knight,
statistics, numbers, yikes: So the risk index is a best-to-worst ranking from 0 to 10, and Thailand is mentioned as follows:
"China was in eighth place with a grade of 5.44, followed by Thailand at 5.49, the Philippines at 5.74, India at 6.24 and Indonesia at 6.79. "
Hmmmm, 5.44 for one of the preferred countries for investments (China), and 5.49 for Thailand...and then there is India even worse than that.
I think I can sleep quite well with this index.

Does anyone know where I can a girl to dress up in sexy stockings and suspenders ?
Don't get me wrong I love bringing girls back and stripping them naked but I fancy a bit of a change.
Any advice?
Forget politics. The big story in Bangers is the huge controversy over the dress worn by up-and-coming actress and Thammasat University student Chotiros Suriyawong at the film awards last Friday. The puritanical forces of Thai culture (whatever the fuck that constitutes these days) are out get her. Her university is threatening to prevent her from graduating. The whole thing exposes the height of Thai hypocricy.
