The discussion has taken a different shape. I said Sosua is a shit-hole, with 99.9% hardcore putas, it is my opinion, and stand by it,
I do not know what your definition of a shit hole is. There is no doubt that it is 100% puta town but having been to puta towns across the globe (barring Brazil, a major contender), I dare say, Sosua is anything BUT a shit hole unless Putas automatically, in your definition make it a "shit hole" by association. I personally do not go to Sosua for women but the small town vibe, beach, walkable all over, great restaurants and women a whistle away practically all over the town, should one have the inclination, sure makes it anything but a "shit hole". Having stated that, I would also defend your right to call it a shit hole if you think so, logic notwithstanding.
Every so often we have guys here getting into pissing contests. That's OK, but when they start talking about "keeping it real", I start to laugh, and feel the need to chime in.
I have to agree with the "reality" bit in your comments. In general, unless one is young, good looking, Spanish speaking and with great dance moves, it is all about money and the more you can flaunt it, the better the outcome is. This is true of Sosua (rain makers) or Santo Domingo (the clubs in Av Venezuela). Ascribing one's "success" to anything else is delusional for old goats like myself. And then there are the photos of "self assigned" 10's. Hmm!

Me: Boss, if you want to meet women you should go to the Dominican Republic.
Boss: But Boriman, you're paying for sex.
Me: Cheaper than a wife!
(five seconds of silence).
Boss: You got that right!
I would never have that conversation with my boss or any of my married coworkers. It just breeds resentment ("Here I am with a wife and kids, working my ass off paying down a mortgage and credit cards she continuously runs up, while this young whipper-snapper is living like a free man and traveling the world fucking beautiful women half his age.").
Everyday he sees you it will be a spit in the face because you are living a lifestyle he could only dream of. He'll find a way to fire you so that he is not reminded of this fact on a daily basis, and hire another "family man" who he can invite over to backyard barbecues where both their families can swap advice about where to find the best discounts for family vacations to Disneyland, hahaha!

+ very good playa
+ best Cannelloni filled with carne y ricotta I have eaten in the Caribbean with a glass of red
+ best massage at Kika, four hands with her partner was so good(Karina's massage was a dump)
+ all kinds of liquor(Choice of scotch even in a small mercado)
+ good dominican cigars(Cubans displayed in Europa checkin desk are fake)
I take the publico to Caberetti and chill on the beach with no one to bother me. Sometimes I take one of the local girls with me.
I love baileys pizza and fish both are my favorites.
Hanging out with bros. I enjoy talking with like minded guys from all over the world. On one trip I adopted a wing man from Denmark. We are still friends to this day.
The women. I almost never take hard core girls. I take my time and find girls who I like being with.
Classicos I know it is crowded as hell but the spectacle of a hundred gorgeous DR girls all available for 50 bucks leaves me speechless.

Folks,
Might decide to retire in DR. Some beach city not Santo Domingo etc. Question is how much income retirement do we need for a couple to live comfortably:
- 2 or 3 Bedroom condo or villa. Air conditioned rooms.
- maybe a used car: Toyota corolla or a smaller car. Not much driving.
- eating out in restaurants once a week.
Is a $4 k income a month enough? Or do we need to budget $6 k?

See?
It's not so bad, and it look like you have taken the next step in the Sosua enjoyment stakes, and followed JBee's advice already on sharing: "thank them and share what you've learned. In a short time people will be thanking you".
Here's another tip on maxing out your experience with the putas in Sosua. May sound like bullshit but it works, in fact it works with any service personnel or employee.
When you are discussing price, if you are too adamant, and win the argument,"not a cent more than 1,500" lets say, the puta will just hustle to get the job done and get you out of there, as fast as possible.
The trick is to imply, without actually promising, that you will pay more, if she sends you away satisfied. How much more? Depends on you and your pussy, mi amor. Now she's working for a little bonus. She might actually get fully undressed, LOL
Be careful though not to mention any amount other than the word more than "propina", or you might find she won't leave until you give her the amount she heard you mention.
It can be a little sticky if you are not careful, but you have to be on their level of game playing. Keeps you a little more in command. She may actually respect you more for your attitude, and it keeps the conversation going on a fun basis. "Are you happy, papi?"
Yeah, just keep sucking!

A month at least for a decent one. I spend less on housing,$500. A month and eat most of my meals in restaurants. My monthly expenditures are just under $3 K a month but I am single but then again I pay for my pussy and you will pay indirectly, hahaha. $6 K and you are living LARGE, real large.

He'll find a way to fire you...
It depends on the job. Actually, my boss does not have the authority to fire me since I have strong job protections. Talking about screwing working girls is definitely not grounds for termination (at my job, anyway). He actually took it quite well and has never bothered me about this. As for resentment, yeah it happens. Over the years I talk less and less to guys who do not live this lifestyle. It is like a game and those who don't play it do not know the rules, think they know the rules, and make judgements based on it.

I wasn't implying someone getting fired for talking about screwing working girls; just the resentment part it breeds and wanting to get you fired just because you remind them that you are living a lifestyle that is unattainable to them (coworkers who are married with children).

A friend (a former poster to this board) lost his job as a result.
His boss was crooked, and looking for an excuse anyway, but this provided him one.
To be accurate, the way the boss found out was by checking his work computer, where he found the BB website.
So, be careful. Discussing such things can give an employer ammunition to use against you should they choose to do so.
It does depend on the job and the boss involved.

I also am curious about this subject, and in addition would be curious to hear input from the residents (M911 and Charles Pooter) on things like medical care, crime / security, etc.
Might be good material to start a new thread "Retirement / living in the DR. ".

Is a $4 k income a month enough? Or do we need to budget $6 k?
Here's my ballpark method of figuring cost of living. It gives a reasonable estimate.
30 (H+F+T+E)/ L.
H = average daily rate for a midrange hotel room.
F = average daily cost for 3 meals / person in local restaurants.
T = daily transportation costs.
E = entertainment expense, daily average.
L = lifestyle expectations. If you plan on a moderate lifestyle, comfort but minimal luxury, L=3. If you want luxury without extravagance, L=2. If you want to be the envy of the neighborhood, L=1.
Here's the tricky part. H, F, E and T are based on your standards. What levels of each are you happy with?
Using my standards, $50 for hotel, $25 for food $5 for transportation and $30 for entertainment, I get $1100, $1650 and $3300 per month.
Those numbers are low, but I don't need much. If possible, I prefer to walk or ride a bike. I don't need 3 chicas a day, 3 per week are fine, and I can feed and entertain myself.
To get your own estimate just figure your comfort zone. Figure car rental for a compact plus insurance, figure out the hotel you could comfortably spend 10 days at and add in the costs of the restaurants you would eat at on vacation. For entertainment figure what you do at home, not what you do on vacation.
