Rio de Janeiro Reports
Crab3535, You have been a sleeper on the forum for five years and the first time you ever attempted to post, you revealed the personal identification of a member and his wife. Since you do not seem to be a paying member, I suggest you ask the moderators to delete your offensive post.
That Crab is Mac sending up a smokescreen and trying to throw people off his trail. Whether it is him in the picture or not is meaningless. Wish this distraction could just go away once and for all -- or else stay on the other site.
Taking a large sum of money and heading directly to a terma or VIPs is one thing. By why walk around with large sums of cash (anywhere). If you lose it or you get robbed it is gone for good. I know some termas charge a small fee for using a cc - but it is worth it for me. It is also a deductable business T&E expense for me as the bill shows up as "Harry's Bar" or something similar.

If I am heading to VIPs - a taxi is involved all the way from my apartment. And I don't have much cash left on the trip home!
Over the years I have had problems with cards cloned in brazil, so nowadays I only use city bank atms. They allow 2 withdrawels off 1000r. I generally take just under 10000r in cash. (in the past alot more) but nowadays just under 10000r. I also take around 5000r home with me, so I always have reals on arrival as my flights always arrive after 9pm at night. The rest in us dollars. I am I very spare off the moment person. I can do things like a terma run. Hitting 4 or 5 termas in a afternoon/night, although I may only session at 2 or 3 off them. As for vips generally I head back to my apartment first, but it dosent always work like that. It is just the way it is with me, up till now I have never had a problem. Anyway hughdad have fun on your upcoming trip.

Happy gdp hunting.
Attached is a picture of Mac or Quincas... His wife, Sylvia, is the women seated immediately to his right.
Posting a picture of a member and his wife is just too much.
Crab, you're a low-water mark.

(BTW, a suitable alias. At low water the crabs crawls up from the mud.)

I am all for Macunaima AKA Quincas having his own thread. I am not for posting pictures of ANYONE in a public forum without their knowledge and consent unless they in somehow are posing a danger to others.

Macunaima may bore everyone to death, but he poses no physical danager. Publicly posting his real name and a picture of his wife is way over the line. Everyone needs to report the original post and ask Jackson to remove it.

Happy gdp hunting.
I am up in MG for a few days now on business and heading down to SP next week. In Rio starting 11/9.

Wow. 4 or 5 termas in a day. I certainly can understand why as there are just great environments for great party fun. I have never had a bad time in a termas. But I tend to mix it up with an in-call to start the day or a Centro casa (if I happen to be staying in Centro that day. I usually spend 2 or 3 nights in Centro and 4 or 5 nights in Copa/Ipanema. I do this for business purposes and I have come to think that this really lets me experience different aspects of Rio. This way I also don't have to trek back and forth on the metro.) Then I hit a termas or two and seek some overnight companionship (from an existing acquintance or someone I try to meet.) I have not been in Help yet as it does not sound like my kind of place. But I will make a visit there this trip as it will be closing (? ) I want to be able to say I was there. Perhaps I can find a low-cost stunner/spinner. But it sounds like these ladies have really pushed their pricing to the stratosphere. We'll see and I will report.

Anyway, I guess the point everyone here is making is be safe, be aware and take precautions. I too bring home some reals every trip. Last time I decided to bring home about R$4000 (bought at close to $2) and I am glad I did. It is now $1.72.

Thanks,

Take care

Mac is well known by his screen name and "his real" name over at Brazzil.com and other sociology web sites.

He even posts links with he and his wife, with pictures, to articles that are published in Rio's newspapers and professional periodicals that deal with his sociology work with pros and the adult industry.

He and his wife are considered credible academics that the press use as sources.

Lighten up fellas, he's not a monger and has nothing to protect from a privacy perspective.

Poucoloco wrote a post on this topic entitled "Please Read The Forum Rules". Since that seemed like good advice, I read the rules and found the following:

"No Real Names: Please do not post any real names or personal identification numbers of any Forum Member in the Forum at any time. Please use the Forum's Private Messaging system to exchange this information. Please review the Posting Guidelines below for more information."

Accordingly, as Exec Talent has suggested, Jackson should remove that post.

Knowing this I don't understand how the post of Crab was published in the first place. As the new member he is his posts are being moderated, so obviously a moderator must have approved on publishing his post with all that personal information?

Many of us participate on this board for the obvious reasons. However, Macunaima AKA Quincas has chosen to us this forum for adverse reasons, which means his usage of our information could be a contradiction to our memberships. I don't know why Macunaima AKA Quincas' personal information wasn't vetted, but it's a good thing. We should know who he is. Imagine if your GDP is used by Macunaima AKA Quincas for his purposes. I'm sure Macunaima AKA Quincas would expose one of us if he could. I'm sure he doesn't abide by the forum rules.
Crab is a new member/user name only in the sense that the person has never posted anything before. According to the profile, this person has been a registered member since 2004. Why was this first post so over the top? Ther's more to this story! All of a sudden, Mr. Q/Mac is now the victim. Are those people in the pic really who he says they are?

My fellow mongers, I think this is just an attemt to manipulate our sympathy.

How would a lurker from 2004 have a pic of any of us?

One thing is sure, it is so strange and misterious.... 5 years no one post, first post one photo of such a strange member as Quincas ?

In 5 years he care nothing to write or to comment, just waited until now to post one non-girl photo ?

I guess here we have more than meet eyes....

It is not up to you to decide who has nothing to protect? The rules are very clear.

"This time, the government is convinced that there are no more obstacles for the state to take possession of the property where club Help, one of the symbols of sexual tourism in Rio, and restaurants Sobre as Ondas and Terraço Atlântico are located. The Secretary-chief of staff, Régis Fichtner, confirmed on Monday that, on Thursday, a Justice Official will execute the order to vacate the building. if necessary, Police support will be request to ensure the release of the land.

The stock owner (Stefania Plaskowicka in Nodari) and the company that leases the building have been notified. Now, there is no further appeal. - says Fichtner.

Manuel Sampaio, a partner of the club and restaurants, said only that he was unaware of the order to vacate the premises, arguing that his company is only a tenant:

- The club has been here 25 years and the restaurants 28. As we have always done, we will continue paying the rent (about $R80 thousand). The expropriation is with the owners - says Sampaio, who did not provided the lawyers information for his company..."

So, If you are in Rio, tomorrow, Wed, may be Help's Last Day...MAYBE.
