That said, let us put the pieces together. 18% for Itibis. 10% for Ley. Now we add a tip. This would all add up to a third of the bill! That is ludicrous.

Do this over a span of two weeks and it all adds up. For that, don't leave a tip. If the business is pocketing the tips that is between the employer and employee and the customer has nothing to do with it. Also, we are charged 'ley' then leave a tip. In other words, we are paying the tip twice! (No matter who pockets the money!) The tourist definitely should not pay for people's corruption.

I have been to many restaurants in the DR that have miscalculated the bill. It has always been to their advantage. I always corrected them on this. I have been to other restaurants where they did not give me the proper change back (either because they did not have the proper change to give back or they wanted to pocket the money). I rarely leave tips, for these and other reasons.

This reminds me of the time I stayed at Terra Linda. We needed to have clothes washed so Larry, who could only speak English, went to the laundry place and they charged him DOP 300. I went afterwards and after talking to them in Spanish they charged me DOP 200. I later learned that the locals were only charged DOP 100. Now, from experience, I have found cheaper alternatives. This is just one example of how we are obviously being overcharged.

That said, if someone walks into a restaurant that charges Itibis and Ley believe me when I tell you that we are definitely paying too much and the workers will do just fine without our tips. I love eating at Baileys but considering the ridiculous prices they charge (compared to the standard of living on the island) they are making out like bandits. This is also true of Morua Mai and Terra Linda. I would say, though, that all these places have great food and I would highly recommend them but they are simply overpriced. Again, there should be no reason why food should cost so much in a developing nation like the DR.

We do not know which restaurants pocket the 'Ley' and which do but, again, it is not the responsibility of the customer to know that. Hey, if I like the service that much or if the chica interests me, fine, but otherwise I usually skip the tip.

As for expecting cash from foreign clients I find this common all over the island. Many times I cannot even ask for directions in Santo Domingo without some guy asking for a tip. This also happens at the airport, while looking for a cat house, while asking for extra towels at a hotel; in fact it's a daily fact of life in the DR. It is one of the regrettable hassles of visiting the island.

I would rather be the bad guy than the foolish guy. In the DR one has to be wise with their money. Just my take and in all due respect to Boricuaonline and other members on this board.

I really love Thursday nights at Classico. Tonight was no different. A lot of prom dates. I mean these chicas are absolutely beautiful. A lot of guys but enough girls to go around. I'm thinking to myself damn this is only Thursday night. I fell in the club about 1:45. Saw the girl I met about 3 years ago on my birthday. She and I are cool. Anyway I'm wondering is his fate decided that me and my birthday girl we're going to have a session. She was looking good. I treated her like a hotel chica for the last 2 years. It would really surprise her if I came in her. Meanwhile Dre has came back over to me and seeing the group dancing by on me. He took one look at her body and grabbed her and pulled her to him. He really showed he was interested and she bit. I watch them to the phone game. She showed him a picture of her in lingerie. I could tell they were talking about price. I can tell the way she dropped her shoulders when he tried to counter. She was stuck on 3500 pesos for 1 hour. She's a Sosua vet. The negotiations stopped. 2 minutes later he said he was going to the room. He looked at her and said come on. He bit on the price! As he was walking away he ask me to tell him if the pussy was good. I looked at him and laugh now you asking me. Let me tell you now that you're asking me I've never been with her. And after you get with her I never will be with her. That's my girl why'all go enjoy yourselves. They left I wonder how thiat turned out.

Meanwhile I'm thinking about taking an L for tonight. A lot of nice chica but I am very selective. Look around make sure it wasn't any chocolate treats that could make me change my mind. I couldn't see any of my regular. I only had two thousand 200 hundred pesos. I figured I would just double up tomorrow and take it easy for tonight. I had something good waiting for me in the room. We get to Europa and she gives her ID to the receptionist. The reception is at the questions she did not answer correctly. This girl has no cellular. She's obviously over 21 but she doesn't have identification. I called her cousin telling her cousin that I cannot go to jail. Her cousin came explaining her cousin is an illegal. She's 23 years old. Showing me pictures of them on Facebook and what not. Of course I know the girl is over 21 however rules are rules. So I took her to another designated area I keep in reserve. And on a scale of 1 to 10 she was most definitely and 8 1/2. She gave me deep swallow. BJ. She grabbed my hips and pulled my body into her mouth. Damn I really forgot chicas can do that. Reinventing the wheel is a dangerous thing sometimes. Sosua provides access to young pretty girls. These girls range from hard core pros to sweet fresh off the bus. I go there 3 times a year and always have a great time. I am still learning how to be less anxious. Patience is the key getting the best of Sosua. Every time I go off the rails I regret it.
