i haven't been inside help for a few years now. i did prefer to sit outside at the restaurant have my drinks and meal and watch the talent.
i am scheduled to arrive at galeao at 22:00 on november 15th.
i feel obliged to go there for its final night as a tribute to the nice times and catches i once had from helpee.
cheers from pattaya.
Its truly is an addiction if you don't want to believe it
Or being under a spell. (How do you say in Port? Feitiço? Encantado?)
Walking alone from Ipanema to Copa in the dead of night is not a rational thing to do. But my adrenaline was so pumped about getting to Help, I didn't give much thought to any threats in the street. It's almost as if I felt, "well, if I don't get to Help I'm gonna die anyway, so what does it matter."
The secret of Help's spell? It wasn't horniness as much as the very real possibility that at Help (or Terraco) you might end the night with the greatest lay, or GFE, of your life. And if you didn't, so what? The great carnal casino would be open again tomorrow and you could take another spin on the wheel.
Not anymore, though. It's like shutting down Disney World. There will always be other amusement parks, but there's only one Disney World.
On the upside, the door's open now for something new to come along that could ultimately have a bigger impact. There's a lot of sharp people on this board (ET, Sperto, Mac, just to name a few) who really understand Brazilian culture, its economy, politics, law. And of course, mongering. If some of you were to get together and build a true successor to Help... well, Field of Dreams, gentlemen. Field of Dreams.
Back now from 2 days in FKK... soon I will report and make a comparison as well, but to make long short.... Termas girls win for me !
I had a great session at 4x4 with a fine and thick dark skin GDP. She did all as promised, BBBJ, Anal, pop-shot in her mouth and gave me her cell and email for an at my apartment session.
The gdp at 4x4 were aggressive. I definitely will be there next week.
By the way, Help at a reprieve from the governor. Me an my crew are heading to Help now. My advice on Help, if anything about Help doesn't come from the owner, then it ain't worth discussing.
Lorenzo,
While I am also a fan of the GErman FKK scene (went to Oase just two nights ago and had outstanding sex with a hot Brailian girl), I have to take issue with your comparison between Artemis and the Rio termas.
Yes, almost all of the girls in the German FKKs walk around completely nude, whereas they wear bathing suits in the termas. And yes, the FKKs can even be cheaper with their all-you-can-drink entrance fee of around 60 to 70 euros and the flat rate of 50 euros per half-hour pop. BUT: you can get undivided all-night attention from a girl in a terma, while by and large the girls in an FKK will not even so much as look at you any more once your 50 euros for the session have changed hands.
For my money it's definitely Rio over Germany by a wide margin. Oh, and if 4*4 what it's like in a "convent", then I'll become catholic in a hurry :D

Euro100,
We don't really have any profound disagreement. My post was responding to another post expressing concern that the pussy scene in Rio might dry up, and I was proposing that in the unlikely event that this happened, Germany might be a viable alternative. Besides, it's good to vary your mongering scenes once in a while. I don't pretend to know that much about the mongering scene in Germany; Artemis was the only FKK I visited. However, having said that, I think Artemis beats anything in Rio. Obviously you disagree, as is your right. The "convent" remark was intended as tongue-in-cheek hyperbole and not meant to be taken seriously.
One more thing, however: I don't want "undivided all-night attention" from a termas girl. Once we have finished our session I want to move on and would prefer that she did too. We all have different mongering styles, which is one of the things that make this forum so special.

Man I know the feeling everytime I arrive in Rio no matter what time I am out the door in a flash (also after the quickest shower)
The fastest shower comment strikes a chord for me. I like to measure time-to-pink whenever I visit a city for the first time. Time starts when I walk away from the hotel checkout desk and ends when the sex starts.
On my first trip to Rio, my time to pink was less than 35 minutes from check-in at Copa Premier to sessioning a garota at Bar 22. That was thanks to all the great intelligence from ISG. I had done so much reading here that I felt like I knew Copa and Centro before ever setting foot in Rio.

Maybe not "undivided all-night attention" but I remember not too long ago you were looking for a girl from a termas to spend the weekend with you at the Sheraton in Rio. I don't know if it happened or not, probably not. But doesn't that count?
As the 2016 Olympics come, I expect to see much of the places we enjoy going away. If they can take out Help, any of the others can go too. I'm glad we all got to enjoy Rio before the fun places we have enjoyed were closed.
I wonder how much Brazil will lose in tourism dollars over the next decade, I think Brazil sees itself as a major economic player and wants to eliminate this part of the economy.

Yes, it did happen. In fact, I posted about it over a year ago. And no, it doesn't count, because what I was talking about here is a girl hanging on to you in the termas itself, which I certainly don't want. But if others want that, well, to each his own. Having her come over to your hotel or apartment is an entirely different story.

They have every right to see themselves as a major economic player. They are fast becoming one and there is no stopping that.

World Cup and the Olympics in the coming decade. There will be a big tourist boom.
You don't think seriously that Brazil will suffer economically because of the loss of some mongers who will boycott Brazil as a destination, because of Help closing?
Closing Help doesn't mean the end of mongering in Rio. Help had it coming, as their 25 year lease was up. They might close a couple of termas temporary as well, as a political show, but there will always be a wast supply of GP-services in Rio. No worries!
I expect to see much of the places we enjoy going away. If they can take out Help, any of the others can go too.
Help was a big target, took over almost one whole block on Ave. Atlantica in Copacabana, it was out in the open and in your face along with the crowds of Terraco Atlantico. This is why Help had to go IMHO because it was the sign of sex tourism for everybody to see. It defined Copacabana as a sex tourist destination. Go to any regular tourist site and ask where to stay in Rio, they will tell you don't stay in Copa because there are nothing but prostitutes there. They want to get rid of that reputation now.
All the other places like the termas, like barbarellas are smaller venues tucked away on side streets that are not out in the open. I have never seen any regular tourist site complain about 4x4 or Luomo or Barbarellas or any casa downtown or VM because no one can see them, they are neatly tucked away and will probably survive for that reason.
I for one will miss Help and agree with everybody that Help isn't as good today as it was 10 years ago. I particularly enjoyed the music and the central location it provided for girls to come from all over Brazil to go to especially on Spring Break to make a few bucks. Maybe they'll still come but take over another club or congregate in the various cafes along Ave. Atlantica like they did years ago before Help was there.
So far as it is sure Help will close, better sooner than later, especially I am curious about where the girls will move.... Balcony and MP are too small for all the GDP that in january were inside Help.
Btw could we expect that the apts around Help will become a bit cheaper now ? Cause for example me, now I would prefer an apt between MC and L'Uomo or close to a metro station instead walking distance from Help.

In one way it would be logic that it would become cheaper/less attractive as most gringos might want to rent apartments down at Blacony/Prado Junior. In another way not, now the Help area becomes more attractive to the brazilian tourists as there is no Help disturbing the neighborhood.
The majority of the tourists renting apartments in Copa ain't gringos but brazilian tourists (except at the agencies run by gringos, who live on overcharging gringos).
