I paid 200 baht for an oil massage and it was made by a woman who was for sure a novice. I was really upset there and is not a guide, a website, an application who show the price and the ability of the woman.
And where did this happen? Was it a genuine massage palce or maybe was an oliy where massage is a collateral and the purpose of the place is another one? Have you been offered any thing else (for a tip)?
Well I have to be honest. I just looked through the whole set of rules and I actually do not see anything in there that says off-topic posts are verboten. Closest is "no trolling" which is defined as not posting something that "disrupts the peace and harmony" of the thread.
It really seems like it should have a rule though. .
On the principle there should not be a real rule (we are on a sex / monger forum, not on "life_in_Thailand") but common sense should prevail. It is clear common sense seems to lack in a lot of people.
PS: socks are available in many Sukh stalls, by the way.
Hi guys,
Thanks for all the information that you always provide! It's just great!
You guys are on the ground. I'm coming to Thailand on 7th of February. I booked a long time ago when problems and the upcoming elections weren't even a subject. My plan is to spend three days in Bangkok before heading for the Philippines for a week and coming back to Thailand then to spend a week in Pattaya. Let me please ask the following questions:
- Have I understood correctly that the area of Nana, Sukhumvit 6 and 8 are still okay nowadays?
- Coming from Suvarnabhumi airport by taxi, going to a hotel in Sukhumvit 4, 6 or 8, will I have to confront with the same traffic as usual or is it heavier?
- Or does it make more sense to skip Bangkok and better go to Pattaya right away?
What I learnt from my last stay, according to a taxi driver, coming from Suvarnabhumi airport, it's better to go to the even Sois than uneven like for example Sukhumvit 7 (beer garden).
- Is that still the case because I assume that the exit "Sukhumvit" is busier because of the shut down?
Thanks a lot for your answers! I'd really appreciate to get the answers.
By the 7th of next month it might be completely different than it is now. But for now there are no problems around the Suk area. None. Taxis have managed to figure out how to get in and out of the neighborhood. Traffic in Bangkok is probably lighter than ever because people are not driving. A few more hand grenades may change all this but the protests at Asoke today were still very friendly and it has partly turned into a street market to sell Bangkok Shutdown souvenirs. Tourists are way down but the girls are coming in because they need the money. Check back in two weeks because it is a fluid situation. But if you really want to be sure I would definitely go straight to Pattaya.

And I am thinking sometime late next week to hit BKK for a "normal" mongering spree doing my business in lower Suk. If the city is blasted to heaven I just stay put in Makati (or maby HKG). But nice to here there are no trouble whatsoever to get to convenient monger locations. Thank you for the heads up so far mr DRRonin.
Thanks for the laugh. You paid the equivalent of 6 USD and you were "really upset" that she was a novice. Ha ha. Thanks again.
. At $6 I was getting one or two a day. It cost almost that much for a cup of coffee here in the states.
Thanks to DRRonin and Syzygies for your replies! It's true, things can be different in two weeks. Good is, that I've got a flight booked to Phuket on my day of arrival on 7th. So if things turn bad, I'll still be able to spend three days in Phuket before heading for the Philippines. But I like Bangkok and its lower Sukhumvit area for mongering. And I'd definitely loose less time by staying in Bangkok before going to the Philippines.
Not only that we don't know how things are going to be in two weeks. What if the protesters want to take over the airports in order to get what they want? I mean, if things don't change the way they are right now, the protesters will have to take more or other measures to get what they want. What do you guys think changes are that problems can occur at the airports?
What do you guys think changes are that problems can occur at the airports?
We don't have crystal balls and cannot foresee airport problems. However it seems inevitable that the situation in Bangkok must deteriorate at some point. Its not going to just fade away. However now its still very meek and mild compared to the time of red-shirts' protests.
Calling a gathering "the mob" gives a bad impression. In Asoke they are not tightly packed in. Spread out thinly in many areas. I have no problem with mingling with them. In the past times of red-shirt action, I thought safer to stay away.
Taxis coming to Soi 23 by Cowboy to get passengers report traffic jam in the back Sois as they mostly enter at Soi 31 I think. Taxi cannot go into Soi 23 from Sukhumvit. Taxis exit Soi 23 to Sukhumvit and then there is little traffic.
PS: socks are available in many Sukh stalls, by the way.
I'm glad you mention it. For the average guy, buying socks ranks right up there with taking out the garbage and cleaning the bathroom on the list of life's thankless chores. However, a well-planned, well-executed socks-buying mission can take care of all your lederhosen needs for a couple of years. Here's how to go about it.
First, take out all your shoes. Unless you're the kind of guy who wears purple polka-dot socks with black leather shoes, you'll want to at least nominally match your socks to your shoe ensemble. Take note of how many shoes you own, in which colors, and what color of socks would match them best. (For example, blue socks go well with dark brown shoes, and light brown socks with light brown shoes.) Next, make all your purchases in one store. The last thing you want to do is buy dress socks at a men's clothing store, gym socks at a sporting-goods store, and ordinary, everyday socks at your local retail store. See if there's a good outlet store in your area, or a department store that carries a variety of styles. Sure, you may have to visit different departments, but you'll only have to get out of your car once. Third, look for bargains. Most stores have promotions on socks, offering 3 pairs for $7 or $10. Before you load up your cart, feel the fabric and figure out if these socks will last more than 2 weeks (you'd be surprised how quickly a hole can develop in a cheaply woven sock). If you decide it's a good deal, get as many bundles as you can afford-it's not like your feet are going to grow. Remember, you don't want to shop for socks again any time soon. Also, buy 2 or 3 pairs of nice socks. It may seem criminal to spend $15 on a single pair of socks, but you can generally count on them lasting for a few years and looking spiffy along with your dress shoes. Make sure not to wear these socks while you're jogging or lounging around in your apartment-you want to preserve them for a special occasion. Finally, avoid white gym socks (unless you jog or belong to a gym). Remember those thick, white, dorky socks with the colored stripes on top that always fell down around your ankles in gym class? Unless you'd like to relive your elementary school days, act like an adult and opt for nice, solid colors like blue or brown. Remember, sneaker socks should only be worn with sneakers. ;.)

In another report a guy entering his office found a hole in the window & stray bullet lodged in the wall. This may have been on the 7th floor, if I recall.
Post of the decade!
So I guess that I ought not to wear my "Hello Kitty" polkadot socks with my patent leather shoes!
Guys coming into town,
I live up country and plan to hit BKK early next month for a visa check-in.
Plan to leave the airport early AM 6 or 7 am on the train.
Can you give me a list of a few good early morning phishing spots, IE: biting around 6 to 8 am?
Then I'm off to my check-in & the rest of the day will be spent hunting as well.
Once the afternoon hits I'm good, just not that familiar with hunting that early.
Thanks

These could be random incidents or just a couple people causing trouble or something more organized. Impossible to say. But I think at this point I will stop visiting the protests. You don't want to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. On the other hand Climax was full to the rafters last night and the two go-go's I visited had a full retinue of girls and not a lot of customers.

I read, that this time they got clever and are planning to take over the Thai Air Traffic Control.
The Thai Air Traffic Control is located in an office building in the city (I believe) and it should not take more than a handful of people to occupy it.
If that happens there will be no civil air traffic to, from and over Thailand.
A classic stroke of genius!
I am due in BKK this coming Thursday, so I am keeping my fingers crossed!
