Best rates for change money in Pattaya I found at northern road. At end of second road to the north is a dolphin circuit, similar to them at beach road and central pattaya road. If you are at the circuit at second road, soi naklua and northern road, than head up the northern road. Left hand side is a food department store and right hand side is a kiss, drink and food restaurant.
After the department store is a small liquer shop and than the money changer. I found the rates there always higher than anywhere else in Pattaya. Even the Richly (guess it's a Super Rich Clon) had always lower rates.

Best rates in Bangkok are Super Rich in a small soi between Big C, opposite Siam Square and Pratunam. The rates at the change offices there are better than the one inside Big C and the Super Rich change hut at Chit Lom BTS station.

From your report, ones trip is never going to be perfect but you did a real good job. Did lots of RTFF! In Bangkok, down past Soi 4, from Nana Hotel on the left hand side across from the Raja Hotel, is a Massage Parlor, small Soi that leads into Nana Condo? and Nana City Inn, is a small booth. If they are advertising Taxi's 800 baht to Pattaya, they are pretty much for the Taxi with a meter but the timing must be right to get this price. Meaning they have notice of a Meter Taxi, coming to BKK with a customer already from Pattaya, and they can kill two birds with one stone you might get the 800 baht rate since the Taxi needs a return fare to Pattaya. For myself the timing has never been right, but I always get for 1100 baht, car always a Volvo from them. Been using them for over 8 years never had a problem.
On the return if you are in the area at the end of Soi Diana corner of Soi Baukhao there is a small wooden taxi booth, 900 baht to airport and that includes toll, make sure to indicate this... very dependable and always on time or early.

Richly has not only one change office. I saw them in 3rd road, second road and I think on south road, but for that I am not sure. Anyway their rate isn't the best.

They have nice, comfortable buses. They have several stops in Pattaya, so tell them where you are going so you know where to get off. I paid 124 baht for the bus ticket and 10 baht to take the Baht Bus to get to my hotel.

Usually these wall safe thefts are by the staff -- rub a bit of oil from the side your nose over the keypad, come back and see which keys are smudged, then punch in all the combinations of those numbers.

The best use of these wall safes is for keeping valuables while you're in the room with a girl. Sad but true, they're really not to be trusted when you're not in the room.

What is easy to remember, just like so many people use their birthdays for their pin number on their ATM's, When you check in you give them your passport they make a copy right... you birthday is right there for the staff to see. Many use their birthdays as their combination in room safe... I hide my stuff in others places and keep only my trojans inside the safe.

I just spent an extended vacation in Thailand and when I wasn't island hopping I hit Pattaya because Bangkok providers are getting too expensive and the quality is in decline. Pattaya seems more dangerous to me than ever before and I've been going to Thailand for 10 years. I've never had a problem walking down beach road late, but now I feel like it isn't very safe. If you aren't in good shape and look like you can take care of yourself I wouldn't suggest walking alone there these days. The girls on the walk are quoting 500 baht still where prices have risen in Bangkok, but I'm not much on picking up girls on beach road. I saw Na working day and night. One evening I was sitting out having a beer and had a few girls run over to me quickly and sit down. Next thing I know the police are taking id cards of girls on the walk. The two that sat down told me they would be fined 500 baht each if they walked or stood there alone. It is ok for farang to do this they said and the police didn't bother us or say anything, but they were sweeping the street and putting girls in the back of a truck to take them away and fine them. Wouldn't it be better to take the males or katoey off the streets late at night since they are the violent ones? I've never had a girl there ask me if I wanted to buy yaba, but I have had males and katoey many times and I've seen them dealing in the middle of the day.

Soi 6? is the best that Pattaya has to offer in my opinion. There are many bars that are quoting 700 for short time and a few that are quoting 1000. This price includes room and girl. There are many girls to choose from and most will go for long time in my experience. I met a sweet young lady there this last time with a beautiful body and really nice attitude. We spent a few days together and she wanted to go to Koh Samui with me for free, but I declined.

I usually get a massage each day when I'm in Thailand and it seems extras are available at most places. I had a girl quote me 1,000 for a hand job during a thai massage. I'm not a hand job kind of guy.

Thailand is in decline as far as I'm concerned and I think this will be my last trip. Maybe the Philippines next time since I've never been there or back to Central America.

No 700 isn't too much by any means. Depends on the girl and her attitude really. I was speaking more about security concerns in Pattaya and the price in Bangkok with respect to quality and service in the Bangkok thread when considering a move.

I've read that Argentina, Ecuador, and Peru are places worth exploring.

I've used and owned various digital keypad safes.

They usually have a back up metal key option hidden under the front name plate.

This is so the owner can get into the safe if the battery dies or he forgets the combo.

Therefore, the owner/staff of the hotel can get into your safe anytime they want.

The only limiting factor is: who has access to the key.

What I've heard these she-males (or what you call them) are the worst kind. What I dont get why is there so many of these in Thailand? I mean, is it because many buy sex from them or what? Are there really so much buyers? I dont get it. Never seen a report here... ;)

And I thought she-males were feminine and not first class thai boxers. Or do they attack in groups?

The website says 2 hours but I think they are being conservative. I asked the Thai guy next to me how long it normally takes to get to Pattaya, he said 1 hour, 40 minutes, which was how long my last trip took.
