Gents, what's the latest anyone has taken Ubers here on a regular basis? I was there last week and getting a bit stressed as it took a long time to connect with an Uber (a few tries and 15 plus minutes, couple of drivers connected and then canceled), this was Friday early morning around 1 am. I know it's not a crazy long wait in the overall scheme of things but would like to hear your experience. Only reason I ask is that is there a reason why Ubers do not want to go here? The streets are very narrow and deserted for sure, last thing you'the want to do is walk around elsewhere and I read previous posts here where there were a few instances of violence for people who were walking around.
I can't remember if they offer taxi service, I'm sure they would if you got the money. I still wouldn't be sure to trust it over Uber. I did ask my Uber driver if there was a reason why cars wouldn't come there, he did say that by foot it was dangerous but he wouldn't see any issues in a car at night time. I would also think that a lot of girls take Ubers, I will perhaps ask them next time I'm there just to hear their experience.
First trip to Brazil all set for July. Rio for 6 nights and SP for 3. Staying right by Posto 9 at an airbnb. Spent way too long reading this thread, now I just have to put up with the wait!

BTW, there is a Stellas Hollywood 2 on Rua Santa Luzia 405, sala 429. I havn't been there for a few years. Quite run-down but larger rooms and a shower in the hall. Doesn't seem to be any rationale because I have had them cancel morning, noon and night.
