Nobody is trashing your girl. I think most of us agreed that she is cute and above average looking, solid 7+. This is going to be brief. Came to Rio for 2 weeks of fun and debauchery, but had to rush back home due to a family emergency.

Anyway, here goes.

[B]1. Hotels[/B]: Hyatt in Barra and Hilton in Leme. Both are GF, but Hilton has a long registration form. Hyatt is more relaxed, but guests are not allowed in common areas.

Hyatt is in the middle of nowhere even for Barra, but it's a beautiful beachfront resort with nice, extensive pools and laidback feel. You won't find that feel in Copa, so 3 days at Hyatt might be a good place to decompress.

Get an ocean- or lagoon-front room at Hyatt if you can swing it.

At Hilton all rooms are ocean-view, even though they show their age a little.

[B]2. Money[/B]: got a withdrawal with a Schwab card at a Bradesco ATM in Barra Shopping at the 5. 17 and no commissions (which would be covered by Schwab anyway). Merits of Schwab debit card have been covered here on more than one occasion, but it's worth reminding, I guess.

[B]3. SIM card[/B]: You can buy it and have it set up at the market in Centro as been reported here. You can also buy it at Lojas Americanas and set it up on the phone. However, if you're based far from Centro or your Portuguese is a little rusty, TIM store is the place to go. I stayed 10 minutes away from Barra Shopping, so it was a no brainer. You buy the card first then set it up at the store. Unlike my previous trips, this time around it was painless.

4. If you need a [B]separate Zap account[/B] with a local number, open up WA for business (HT: Vagabundo).

5. Took a ride to the [B]Classico beach bar[/B] with Vagabundo. Nice spot.

[B]6. Girls[/B]: I started by hooking up with a girl from my last trip, but wasn't especially happy, so never repeated. Aside from her, I only had 2 encounters with new girls.

[B]6 A. Perola Negra[/B] Came over after midnight on Wednesday, lots of girls, but it was a sausage feast. Most girls were hanging out with Brazilian dudes who never took anyone for a programma far as I could see. She's 40-something and you won't confuse her face for a face of a 20-year old, but I can guarantee you won't find a perfectly sculpted body like hers on many 20-year olds.
