i don't think the time of bars being packed out really made them more exciting. exciting bars had always been a contradiction in terms.

some bars have gone downhill. long gun used to be far better a few years back, maybe 6 years ago, because they had some excellent cabaret dancers, who could put on a high class dance act. it also had pat pong type shows that attracted many tourists, i never could understand why. i did not want to see the smoking pussy, or firing darts at balloons. one or two girls from that time still remain.

sheba was a good bar but unfortunately closed. suzie wong took over many of those girls, but music has not been as good at sw.

Most Soapies are designed to sit and hang out and eventually decide if you want to take a girl or not. You would be weird if you did it daily. Annies is an exception. That is why its only a half-soapy in style of operation. No (other) "Soapy" has a ring the bell type of operation.

I don't call it watching "eye-candy", its more like window shopping, with a view to buy when something really interesting shows up.

Annies is not a large Soapy. Try Amsterdam, La Defense, La Belle, Utopia, and sit in the lounge as long as you like. Chao Praya II has a large fishbowl, and they also have an entertainment club with singers on stage. You can sit and eat in either part. Tarawadee has a big area to eat and drink and soapy girl seating areas are on several sides.

I was too young and then busy in grad school to travel outside of the USA at the time, but in the late 60s and early 70s Tehran was considered to be a very fun and interesting city. (Better music is another advantage.) You can still do amazing things with a girl inside the bar before you decide to barfine her in the PI. Try Bottoms and Rogues in Makati for example. You will not be "bored". I guarantee it. LOL. The Malioboro Hotel lounge in Jakarta is another place where getting to know your girl intimately before taking her upstairs is the way. Lastly, I have found that a number of Go Go's in Pataya seem to have looser attitudes about in-bar fooling around. It's too bad about BKK Go Go's, but I am still a loyal customer. I like some of the girls despite the restrictions.

Greetings fellow Mongerers!

I am on day 4 of my trip to Thailand. As I beging writing this I am in Pattaya with a sweet young thing in my bed. Sorry I haven't posted earlier. Just been having too much fun and too lazy to do so. But I am inspired by Sir Lancelot and other fellow mongers to make my contribution. Here are days one and two in Bangkok to get you up to date.

Arrived on the red eye and was tired as hell as I only got a few hrs of sleep on the plane. All went smooth at the airport and got to the hotel fine. Stayed at Town Lodge on Soi 18 (they now have changed the name to Studio hotel). They were nice enough to let me check in right away so that I could get some sleep. All in all the place was a good deal and close to the action. But the nightclub / bar, Toxic is now closed and the cute girls that worked there are gone. The hotel is lacking the free wheeling and fun atmosphere of years past. I may try another place on my next trip.

Woke up around 3PM and started getting my bearings. My intitial plan was to hit Angel Massage on Soi 26 for a post-flight pick me up. But having done some MP action during recent business travels l was not al that eager to just dive in. I needed to loosen up a bit first with some drinks and banter with the girl. Si I Decided to hit the Bier Garten first. The plan was not necessarily to take a girl from there, but to just check out the scene, flirt a little bit and have some drinks and hit Angels after I loosened up.

Hit Bier Garten just before 5. The action there was much better than I remembered (maybe I am getting old and m standards are dropping). But seriously, most were pretty unappealing (to me). After doing a couple of recon passes around the bar, I grabbed a beer and saddled on up to the two most interesting candidates. One was very hot. A little older, alabaster skin (like the Japanese like) and curvy figure. I can't recall her name now. Her friend was also very nice. Long limbed and slender a real spinner, her name was Fa. The first girl was aloof and not very easy to talk to. Little full of herself (Fa later told me that she had many customers and was stuck up because of it). Btu the friend, Fa, was very nice. Smiling and joking with me. After the friend left we get to know each other better with her hugging and caressing me. Though I initially suspected that I may have fallen victim to a bait and switch, I was really getting into this girl and so decided to break my plans and take her for the evening. It was still very early, so this would be a very good value.

I grabbed a beer and checked the line up. Frankly, I was not all that impressed. Of about 40-50 girls there, I only found about a 10 or so to be attractive. As I made my rounds they were all relatively friendly and not as aloof or hostile to Westerns as some report imply. I got quite a few come hither looks as I made two loops around the place. I finally settled on stool opposite a light skinned and curvy little hottie who had given me the look before. Not the hottest girl, but a solid 8, and definitely among the top 4 or 5 in Thermae at that time. Soon we were joking and making faces at each other. She had a very nice smile and laughed at my antics. After about 5-10 minutes of this I sauntered over to introduce myself and offer her a drink. Her name was Arn (or so I registered, it was kind o loud) and she was an office girl who comes to Thermae part time to pay the bills. We got a goo rapport going and I even managed to steal a few kisses from her. She quoted me 4K LT, which seems to be the going rate in BKK nowadays.

Now I had to be careful how to play this. She definitely was a bird in the hand and I had a feeling she would be GFE form our light banter and flirting. Of Sir L's girls I only saw #91. While cute I did not find her extraordinarily beautiful (sorry Sir L. Different strokes for different folks, at least if we meet up one day we will nto compete over girls LOL). IMHO, there was one standout there, #4. Stunning! Perfect figure with Japanese doll facial features. But sadly she was occupied by a group of Japanese guys. Plus, form her dance shift where did nto seem all that friendly or responsive to my smiles. As I was confident that I had an ace in the hole at Thermae, I decided to move on to Rainbow 4.

I settled in and started looking for Sir L's numbers. But non were to be found. However there were some very nice girls there indeed. I know it would be difficult making a choice. Still I wanted to sit down with her and do a date like activity before going to the room. I find this helps loosen the girls up and I try to put and the charm. Just like on a real date. This usually works pretty well and you get much better GFE type service.

The place was one of those Japanese type clip joints with lady boy hostesses, a lot of loud toasts, and incomprehensible drinking games. But she seemed to really liked it and showed me pics of her trip to Japan. She also told me she worked for a while in Singapore. She said she owned her own business, a food supply company (or something to that effect) and we had fun talking about different cuisines. We started drinking sake and one of the lady boys came over to entertain us. I found him / her to be kind of annoying, but Nit was having a blast and was very appreciative that I had ordered the good sake for us. Which admittedly was pretty damned tasty. After finishing the bottle and much forced laughter we said our goodbyes and waked across the street to the room.

I don't know if it was the Sake or her beautifully sculpted body, but I was absolutely entranced. We had an amazing session, of (at the risk of sounding cheesy) was real lovemaking, as we lost ourselves in each others bodies. I think that they do something with the lights at Rainbow to make the girls look lighter and more "Japanese looking". If you don't want your illusions that you are with a Japanese porn goddess broken, it may be a good idea to stick with ST.

I had a few hrs to kill before my car to Pattay and considered a trip to Angels or Nataree. But I was also pretty damned hung over and invested the funds in a nice steak to soak up al the nasty alcohol still stuck in my body form the night before.

All in all it was a great trip to BKK and the mongering options are still great in this city. Because of time restrictions and fatigue I did not do a rampage through the city like Sir L (also I was doing LT with the girls). I wish I had time to squeeze in a tri to Angels or Nataree. But I will do my best to make it up in Pattaya. But still I am pretty darn happy with how the trip has begun!

Next up: Report form my first day in Pattaya, where I "interview" a gem at airport and get involved with a good girl that may turn out to be a stage 5 clinger (she's been PMing me on LINE all afternoon!).
