All bars (on Falatehan) are closed on Sunday 31st August 2008 and Monday 1st September 2008 and then two weeks later on Tuesday 16th September 2008.
Opening times are normal.
Last orders at 1.30am, ALL customers out by 2am, bars should be closed by this time.
No disco allowed, however, live music is ok.
I RTFF. Saw some stuff from about two years ago. What’s the situation in terms of how blacks are treated in Indonesia? I am not naïve I know racism is everywhere spent 8 months in Japan and now I am a property owner in PI. Hell, I even read a article on the US State Department website about people of African descent being harassed.
What’s the situation on the ground before I make the 3 hour flight in October? I am American, don't know if it helps sure does in Thailand.
There is probably less racism against blacks in Jakarta than in most places, believe it or not. Although I am caucasian, I am very, very close to several "people of African descent" who live in Jakarta, both personally and professionally, so I feel that I can speak with some authority on this issue.
Unfortunately there is one racial stigma that is particularly strong in Indonesia, and that is the anti-Nigerian sentiment. A significant percentage of the drug trade in Jakarta appears to be run by Nigerians, at least that's what the Indonesian press reports, so the average Indonesian may equate being a Nigerian with being a drug dealer.
So my advice would be to make sure that people know right away that you are a black American, not a Nigerian.
One friend of mine who lives in Jakarta, a middle-aged black American male, is a frequent visitor to the mp's in the Mangga besar/Hayam Wuruk area, and he has told me that he hasn't had any problems at those establishments. I once ran into him at Royal Mas MP where he was heading upstairs with a 19 year old Java cutie who probably weighed all of 80 pounds (36 kgs.), so obviously he was not having any problems getting girls there.
Senior Members,
After reading the reports here I tried to go to Block M bars, but got hopelessly lost. My Bhasha skils are nil.
Could any kind soul give me directions to Block M bars, as I am travelling to JKT from 31Aug to 3rd Sep?
Thanks
Noticed that you are a first-time poster. I hope you'll write a few posts of your experiences after your upcoming visit, although you've picked a terrible time to come to Jakarta for mongering (as the fasting month of Ramadan begins on September 1st).
If you had been reading the forum carefully, you'd already know that it's spelled "Blok M" and that most of the hot bars are on Jalan Palatehan 1, pronounced Jalan Falatehan ("Jalan" means "street")
Every taxi driver in Jakarta knows where "Blok M" and this street are. An alternative method would be to take Route 1 of the Trans-Jakarta busway, which goes from Kota (in the northern part of Jakarta) to blok M in the south. As you step onto the open platform from the bus, take a look to your left before you walk down the stairs, and you'll see Jln. Falatehan 1.
Another alternative would be to get to the Pasaraya Grande shopping plaza, and you'll be within a five-minute walk of the bars.
Even better, type "Blok M" into Google and you'll see the following web site as the first choice:
.....if you don't mind i will invite you and bro oyenk to tropical spa after idul fitri and i will ask all my therapist and the freelancer to go down to the lounge to see you both, so both of you can pick the one that you like and everything is on the house, this is the way we do to show our sorry when customer are not happy for our service.
adrian, thanks for the generous offer but how about i turn up without you or your staff knowing what day or time i am going to arrive? if there is an improvement in service compared to my first visit i will be happy to submit a glowing report about it to isg. that would be more beneficial to other members of this forum than for me or bro oyenk to write a report based on having got pre-meditated special treatment.
Kartika is one of historical mongering place in JKT, I believe it is the ancestor of any PP or Spa in JKT which provide Breast Massage. I remember there is a say among monger in JKT "You are not in Jakarta yet if you haven't visited Kartika"".
The other historical place are: Bintang Mawar cafe, Kimochi spa 1.
Well, A Guan / Qi Bye is also the owner of Emporium, I hope he sees your post bro...
I heard through a friend that the 6th floor/Maribaya was raided a couple of days ago and has been shutdown. Can anyone confirm if this is true?
I haven't been going there regularly the past couple of years as it has continued to deteriorate since it was raided and shutdown a couple of years ago. Could this be the last nail in the coffin?
Yes it is true. On 27th night around 10 pm, 2 bules, one indonesian and 25 girls were picked up by the police. They were detained in the police station through the night. The Mamasan has been detained while all have been left.
Nevertheless, two sets of girls have booked rooms there and are operating. One set in the sixth floor and one set in the fourth floor. One of my regulars sent me a sms and I went there and had a threesome at 400K per piece. Those who have contributory posts may PM me and I will give the details. Those who just ask questions and with hardly any posts, please do not expect any response, since I would delete your message.
Cheers
I understand from reading the forum that the situation isn't good for picking up girls during the beginning and the ending of the Ramadam.
But what about the rest of the month of September? Is it possible to pick up? Are girls in a good mood? Working at night shouldn't affect their diet as they sleep most of the day.
Thanks for the info as I might visit the region this month.

From my experience living in Jakarta during Ramadan 2006 and 2007, I would say yes, it's still relatively easy to pick up girls and yes, they are in a good mood, especially if you tip them well :D
While money is always a great motivator for these girls, it can be even more important during the first 3 weeks or so of Ramadan. Remember, most of these girls are still planning to travel to their home village (beginning around Sept. 25th), and they cannot come home empty-handed; their relatives will be expecting cash, gifts and food from them.
This may explain why some of the best sex sessions I've ever had were during Ramadan 2007, some great 2-girl sessions on Hotel Melawai's 6th floor with girls from Maribaya Spa who had rented out rooms for the first 3 weeks of Ramadan (since Maribaya Spa itself was closed for the entire fasting month), and who were definitely "working hard for their money."

Thanks I was going to spend that time in AC but I will check out what Indonesia has to offer.
you have great influence over them bro - the newer rings are stronger (i fully sympathise as i have also come across these female hedonists;)).
on another subject, i must thank a certain member (who has to be nameless) for his kind efforts to make my stay much cheaper than it would otherwise be. i stayed in mulia senayan for a low rate which was inclusive of breakfast, 3 pieces of laundry daily, 25% discount on all other hotel charges and airport pick up. i was amazed as the lowest i had experienced before this was usd65 nett for the room only. as such, it afforded me the opportunity to clarify the timing of the in house massage; due to a change of gms, the previous in room massage time of 7am - 2am has been revised to 7am - 10pm (last call).

indeed, good point, the previous mulia gm (the french guy (i will not mention his name here, the one before the current german gm) used to [CodeWord123] the massage girls. he is currently wanted by the police and on the run. jakarta is probably the city on earth where there's the least need for [CodeWord125] !! especially for a man in the (former) position of gm at mulia. go and figure...

If I were a black american, I'd never leave AC. That seems to be the popular mongering destination for black americans. It's definitely the place where they are most accepted in all of asia.
I like AC. I believe it's the best bang for your buck in all of asia now. The girls are the cheapest around, the hotels are cheap, and the environment is fun. Plus the girls there speak better english than anywhere else in southeast asia. Jakarta is of course good for me too, but the dollar goes alot further in AC.
I’ve always claimed that the Indonesian gals are about the sweetest and most honest of the SEA ladies. In years of traveling I’ve, to my knowledge, only been ripped off twice.
Once was about 8 years ago to a BKK Soi 7 beer garden gal who brilliantly lifted 10,000 baht from my wallet. The second time was this week to a pair of Blok M gals but for much less. The events were somewhat different though as this one left me laughing.
I’ve known a young hottie from Blok M from the past few visits named Reina (pictured wearing shirt). She always insists on the “two ladies” bullshit. Reina came by one afternoon with a gal I’ve seen before but never met named Frida, also one of the young Blok M-Top Gun gals who’s quite attractive (profile face picture).
I don’t like two-somes and rarely put up with it. In this case, I failed to leave my wallet in the safe but instead put it inside a flimsy camera bag in the back of a drawer filled with lots of stuff.
When time came for the taxi money I didn’t have enough. Looked to me like I was about 300 or 400K Rupiah shy in the wallet. I kind of suspected them but just couldn’t believe that could have found my wallet in the short time I was in the shower. Besides they were busy playing with my little Sony M1 camera when I stepped into the shower. I wrote off the event to me miscounting currency that has too many zeros. To pay them I had to go into the safe and give them some Singapore dollars of which they were rather upset about.
The next day I used my little handheld Sony M1 camera to take a snapshot and got a “memory full” message. I checked it out and found my 2GB memory chip was filled up with a huge video. Turns out the two ladies from the day before had hit the video button and left it going on the nightstand lens down. Nothing to see but there was perfectly clear audio.
Apparently the second I stepped in the bathroom to shower they accidently started recording video. I could hear the shower start up and then lots of discussions and sounds of drawers and zippers opening and closing. They graciously left me an audio transcript of their heist.
My Indonesian buddy A_ stopped by the hotel later. A_ is fluent in multiple languages and is a special forces officer with the Indonesian military. He’s also close with Top Gun bar management. He listened to the audio and explained that the girls went into search mode as soon as the shower started. One directed the other on search techniques. They found my pocket watch in my briefcase but decided it had no gold. Although there was no discussion about my wallet and taking cash, the drawer makes a unique squeak that was quite evident.
Later that night I was at Top Gun and noticed Reina was extremely coy. A few minutes later my buddy A_ stopped by Top Gun for his customary soaking me for drinks but instead grabbed Reina (Frida wasn’t there) and dragged her outside. This was not my doing. About 15 minutes passed and I stepped outside. A_ and two cops were ripping into her pretty bad. I intervened in Reina’s behalf to stop the shit. Apparently this wasn’t Reina’s first event with ripping off bules. Long story short Reina came back in the bar, under pressure, she apologized to me. I bought her a drink we shook hands and end of story but I latter discovered I was banished by good lookers that hang out near Top Gun’s back pool table.
There was a whole bunch who wouldn’t look at me or return my SMS. As the week went on the banishment increased to about every non-child bearing gal (which ain’t too many of them) on Blok M. Frankly, all to my pleasure.
Anyway, fun little lesson learned. I still had a great time in Jakarta and had enough contacts to keep me more than busy. I will say the Blok M was overall lousy. Many of the ladies had already left with their family to the provinces and there was twice the normal amount of bules who I expect, like me, were squeezing in a mongering tour before the start of Ramadan tomorrow.
