On the other hand, direct flights to Sao Paulo (GRU) can be had from NYC, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, DC, Frankfurt, Madrid, London and maybe a few others. LAX offers via Panama or other connections. Delta and LATAM from Atlanta. Same with American, also from JFK. And like I've mentioned in another post, Delta is starting service from JFK this December.
Here is a little tip. Morning flights from GRU to SDU were always ridiculously priced (I remember $300+ for a 40 minute flight) so fly to GIG instead, it should be cheaper. Riding a bus to Rio -- don't even think about it. Realistically, it's at least an 8-hour journey, and that's after 10 hours on a plane. Thanks but no thanks.

It's not happening, at least in this revenge travel reality.
Of course it's noisy, but lie-flat business seat vs economy is like day and night and lets you hit the ground running. Although I do agree. If you can't swing it with miles or some help from your employer, don't waste your money.
