Hi friends.
I'm visiting Shanghai in the beginnig of Decemeber for a buisness trip, and I've been thinking about the possibility of getting a massage with a litte extra.
After reading about all the crackdowns I've come to the conclusion that visiting any of these KFCs or Saunas is out of the question.
I don't think I would be able to cope with beeing lined up, questioned and/or arrested.
So the only option I am left with is having someone visit my hotel room.
I think we will stay at a 4 or 5 star hotel.
In that regard there are a couple of different alternatives (from what I've read):
1. Girls wandering on the streets outside the hotel.
2. Girls wandering around inside the hotel/hanging out in the hotel bar.
3. Massage services offered by the hotel itself (I don't know if these will provide anthing extra)
As far as I can se 3. Would be safer than 2. Which is safer than 1.
So, what is the risk of getting caught by doing something like this?
At what hours would you suggest making an attempt for this?
And what would happen if one gets caught?
Just a fine?
Prison and questioning for a couple of days (how on earth would I explain this to the rest of the people in my group.
Or maybe nothing at all?
I'm a total newbie at this, so any help is appreciated.
Oh, I'm white BTW. If that changes the rules somehow.
Suggestions close to Holiday Inn Pudong 899 Dong Fang Road.
Hi guys,
Any suggestions for saunas close to this hotel or in the nearby surrounding areas.
Hotel outcall would be great if anyone could recommend something good.

Hey guys,
I am new to the shanghai area. I live near the jing an temple. I have a foot fetish, and was wondering if any of you know where that could be accomodated. I have not found anything, so I figured I would ask. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Oh, I'm white BTW. If that changes the rules somehow.
The word I heard in the past is that LE don't target foreigners.
So sometimes they let you go for a small amount of money.
And the punishment for locals is like 5000 fine plus 15 day jail plus notification to family and employer.
Occasionally, LE do need to get a token foreigner.
Like my friend's boss once got wounded up in a raid. He was tossed in jail for 3 or 4 days, didn't really know what would happen to him. So he finally caved in, and essentially bought his way out of jail for approximately 60000 RMB. It could have been a lot cheaper if he just wanted out, but the price is to make sure all the records "disappear" so his working permit wouldn't get revoked. Apparently, he was not able to fully explain his disappearance over those 4 days. So the word got out in the office, and my friend and I were laughing our heads off across the pacific.
But yeah, this is only one incident. I am not sure what is the rule and what is the exception when it comes to lining up foreigners.

Just go to a sauna, if they are going to be visited, they'll know and will just turn you away at the door.
Saunas are the only really unique thing here that you can't experience back in the states. Take advantage, I'll even loan you my best girl at Sacrosa, #266
Massage places are cheaper, and to be honest the massages are awesome, but those are probably just good for a handy.

However, if your risk aversion outweighs your sex drive, you are better off finding another hobby. (It's KTV, by the way)

Each of those options prey on newbie foreigners at hotels, and have been known to be successful with incredibly priced upsells. Also, there are stories in the forum in the case of 1 and 2 of police or security knocking on doors very late at night. Case 3. Can be very costly, more than you would pay in the US. Pretty safe, but negotiate the deal before any clothes come off. Once little man starts thinking, you are in trouble.

Oh, I'm white BTW. If that changes the rules somehow.
Any hour works. I have heard of nothing more serious than questioning, but the language barrier can protect you somewhat. And the main rule that being white and a newbie is that they see you with hundred dollar bills falling out of your pockets.

Being white does change the rules. You will get charged more. I can't believe you even said THAT!
Any way if you are that afraid WHITE BOY get a girl from on line. Try CRAIGSLIST. Under Erotic services. It will cost you 800-1000 and you wont get the girl in the Photo. Also you will not be able to choose the girl. But you will get a girl sent to you. The Sauna Should be fine. You are inside. The odds of there being a raid at the time you are there are slim and none.
Good luck and don't for get the Sun Tan Lotion.

But it can also work against you, if they decide to take you in without really explaining what is expected of you. Like my friend's former supervisor's story, what really got to him was probably FEAR. He didn't know how long they were holding him or what's going to happen in the future. The fear of not knowing anything, with no phone calls, no lawyer, no interpreter (the cops probably spoke broken English at best). Oh yeah, and he probably watched Red Corner a few years back too.

ThatismeinHK1
Found this, Belongs to another website but useful i think (not sure if its ok to post here). The addresses make no sense though if you are not from Shanghai.
Hey guys,
I'm staying in the Songjiang area at the moment, do you know if there are any saunas around this area or will I need to head into the main city?
Thanks
