Barney Rubble, hot poo and ground zero
Guys,
GoodEnough is not a Barney Rubble type at all. He is very affable and easy to talk with and does enjoy meeting people.

I'm not sure about the Barney Rubble characterization. I'm not great looking, but hell, I hope I look better than that!
Haha, I get the sense that either you both have the impression that maybe I am hiding something not entirely complimentary in the Barney Rubble statement, but I assure you I was not. I definitely appears that you do not hold Barney Rubble in the same high regard that I do.
Have a look at the cartoon again one day. Barney is always the loyal level headed approachable one. He's the one who's reliable and is there to help Fred out when he gets himself into yet another batch of hot poo. He never seems to get in trouble himself.
As for looks, well, comparing someone to a cartoon for looks is ridiculous. But if it makes you feel any better, Barney had the hotter wife by a long way. Grrr. Betty. Woof woof!
At Ground Zero the dirth of women is passed.
Just quickly, I keep seeing reference to Ground Zero in Davao... is it the name of a pub/club, or code for something?
Cheers,
Blunderer.
Davao and its colorful image
Guys,
Early this morning I was on the internet chatting with Barney Rubble, excuse me, GoodEnough. The subjects of the Kid (my nephew with NYPD) and Brad (of Davao Fame) came up. Barney, excuse me again, GE thinks Brad is "Gone with the Wind". Family illness and Mom's near stroke over worrying about her "baby boy" will keep him home. Why is it both GE and I do not care for this guy now? Simple, he is ungrateful and insensitive to anyone's needs but himself. Narcissism is fine for characters in horror movies. Does not do much in real life.
I told GE to invite Brad to GE's farewell party. Yes, I had both my Cherryl and her beautiful cousin, Leone accompanying me but I felt we could control Brad's primal urges. Here he has GE to thank for finding his place to live in Davao, showing him around town, informing him on the nightlife and keeping Mom from "dying of worry over baby Brad". GE even took him out to dinner and had him over his house. Brad could not be bothered to reciprocate. He could not even bother to attend GE's farewell party.
"GE I am awwwfully sorry but I had a very late night last night. My golly gee but she was something of a woman for me, let me tell you this. I am so awwfully tired now, oh my and my little fella (his dick)is in a bad way. I just have to stay in and take my beauty rest". This is how GE reiterated the conversation to me. I replied, "it wouldn't kill the "big stud" to come by for an hour, thankyou for everything and wish you well". I doubt if his little thingy would suffer further although, after seeing Cherryl, Leone and GE's beautiful friend from Australia (beauty of a white woman if ever there was one), it might grow to its full length of 2 inches and stay like that for the remainder of the evening.
I spoke to the Kid for over two hours last night. Got off the horrible topic of Dad's Estate, my fat sisters, nutcase nephew (not the Kid but Samari Bob) and onto the topic of Davao and Davao Pussy. The Kid told me he is "beginning" to realize that the Rose situation is hopeless. Like Lalaine in Davao, Rose in Davao has a "Cyber Bob" in Maryland with whom she had had a torrid internet romance for FOUR FUCKING YEARS. No, of course he has never visited the Philippines. But she still has "serious feelings" for him ( I get serious feelings every time I see a nude asian girl on the internet.
The Kid has decided (after two fucking years but no fucking) to seek out new pussy. I mentioned Jen's beautiful girlfriend, 23, who used to sing in a Manila upscale nightclub with Jen. She is now living in a remote area and raising goats and pigs (most beautiful pig farmer I have ever seen). She came by one night when Jen, the Kid and I were staying in this seaport town nearby in a rooftop suite. Unfortunately, the Kid became ill and could not meet her.
Jen spoke to her about the Kid and described him. Jen likes him and this gorgeous lady is now interested. Of course, the Kid will most likely fuck it up. But at least he got a chance. Better than listening to Rose in Davao pining over Cyber Tom in Md who is either married or as GE (Barney) claims, living a fantasy life on the internet.
In any event the Kid says he will return in January and station himself in Davao City. It should be fun and I hope some of you get to meet him.

DS You are gonna love this...
there's a new area that's been only recently developed. it's a small shopping center/courtyard on the small street directly across from swiss deli on jp laurel. if you turn left on laurel just as you're in front of the door of swiss deli, and go up about half a block you will see it on your left. the place is laid out along a square, with one and two story buildings on three sides, much like the venue. in the middle is a courtyard set with cheap white plastic tables and chairs of the type you see in similar places all over the place here.
there are several new restaurants located on the square, including a branch of tsuru, the japanese place next to the casa leticia, as well as hanoi, the vietnamese place with another branch also next to casa leticia. the good news is the new spanish place called hola espana. it's got a wine list of at least 150 bottles of french, italian, chilean, australian and spanish wines, ranging in price from php500 to php27,000 for baron philippe de rothschild bourgogne. it's also go a temperature-controlled, walk-in wine cellar. we had a nice bottle of st. emillion bordeaux for about $30 and it was excellent. served in actual bordeaux glasses, properly chilled, and well presented. the place also had a deli counter with french, italian and spanish cheeses, olive oils, mustards and other condiments. it's got an extensive menu with five or six different paellas and lots of other dishes.
we're going back there to eat tonight because last night we did the vietnamese place which was okay but quite ordinary. this is definitely davao's new wine emporium of choice, and it also sells dom perignon, moet et chandon and probably other champagnes. i also saw a vintage bottle of borolo for about php6,200. the place is owned by the same cebu-based family that owns the chain of l'huillier pawn shops found all over the country. i was told that the family is half spanish and half french which probably accounts for the excellent selection of wines. all wines are also available by the glass, and it's the first time in davao that i've seen a chateauneuf du pape.
for those interested more in pussy availability than wine and food, there were lots of women rep001tered around the courtyard listening to the live (and not very good) band, and when we left at about 11:30, the courtyard was packed. however, the ds hardly needs additional pussy venues, and i'm writing this because of the enormous (by davao standards) wine selection.
we went from this place over to hennys, (de bonte koe) which was basically closed, but henny was still there and we had a couple of drinks with him. chicos, which is in front of henny's on the street side was jumping as was someplace else, which was packed and again, there were several tables of 5-6 women who were obviously non-pros but nonetheless amenable, i'm sure, to a little romance.
leaving henny's, we drove up rizal st. past bar 183, and as usual, it was jammed, with people spilling over into the street. same for the auto mall on bajada, which was so packed that cars were lined up three deep looking for places to park.
this is a three day week end here, followed by a two-day work week, so the city it likely to be jumping for quite a while longer.
