I would seriously recommend if your travelling to Cambodia for the first time that you read all of phantom tigers reports. His reports are always honest and very informative. A Couple Of Days In Phnom Penh
Phnom Penh is always a blur for me. I like it because it is compact, prices are low, and you can get round a number of places for a quick search. And of course there is Sophies.
I stayed at the Golden Gate hotel, on Str 278 off Str 51. There are two standards, for $15 per night you get a bare bones room, very basic. In the upmarket hotel, for $30 per night, you get a good sized room, breakfast and laundry included. Laundry is same day service if you get it outside your room by 12.

I tried to find DV8 on Str 108, but it was not there. It is on Str 148, just in from Sisowath Quay. A nice, small bar downstairs, with lots of girls, probably 20 or so, and a pool table and open balcony upstairs. I was too buggered to try any of the girls.
