For people from high socio-economic countries, between 40 to 60% have HSV-1 or mouth Herpes. Less than 20% have genital Herpes HSV-2. A high percentage of those with genital Herpes, don't know they have it due to the lack of symptoms. However for oral Herpes the percentage with no symptoms ever, is much lower. Subsequent periods of shedding (contagious periods) can have no symptoms, but most people with oral herpes will have had a cold sore type symptom the first time at least.

Its relatively easy for working girls to catch Herpes (genital) if they don't use condoms, and even with condoms, still possible. I think the risk to their customers is significantly less. After many years of doing DATY and kissing working girls, I still tested negative to Herpes (of any type). I guess lucky for now, but have caught Chlamydia 2 times (once in the eye - incredibly easy to catch). I am not a BBFS person with casual partners. Its estimated that 35% of Thai women have genital herpes (pros or not). This is higher than some other countries. However note the prevalence of Thai women having unprotected sex with highly active males, whether Thai or non-Thai.

Its true people with Herpes, are often contagious while not showing any symptoms, however I thought the story seemed a bit distorted.

IMO Friday and Saturday nights are the best times to find talent at the NPL. Sometimes the ladies are true part timers. I picked up a very young / cute girl once who told me she worked full time at a toy factory during the week and would occasionally hang out at the NPL weekend nights to earn some extra money. She has all the tell tail signs of a non-pro: her Bush was a jungle, uber shy, in no rush whatsoever, and while slow to get started once she warmed up she was explosive.

I could barely make it 50 meters without being approached. Now, meh! Can't be bothered with the lack of talent and bad attitudes.

During that 4 hour period as far as I could tell she didn't actively solicit anyone, nor did I see a single person (customer, other working girl or anyone else) talk to her all night. But she kept her dignity, which itself made her a bit appealing. Had she been lets say 30 lbs less, I might have found her more attractive, but there is certain appeal to these lady like feminine type part timers working solo, also seen at BG certain nights.

Has the curfew in Bangkok been lifted? I am reading conflicting reports about BKK in particular. Somebody please advise before I buy a ticket to Thailand.

Also, I am reading that July 11 th and 12th are holidays (Buddha related) in Thailand and the bars are closed? Can anyoody please confirm????

However, this can potentially turn on a dime, but I doubt it will the next month or so at least.

Khao Phansa or start of Buddhist lent will cause bar closures on July 11 and 12 and no alcohol can be sold. Some bars will remain open and not sell alcohol (I don't drink alcohol very often anyway). Some pubs may sneakily sell alcohol. I. e. Serve beer in a teapot.

Don't worry too much. Massage parlours will still operate. Street walkers will still walk. Collect phone numbers of your favourite bar girls in advance so you can make private arrangements.

Perhaps in the prudishly filthy minds of some movie critics who never left their mom's basements. You really have to stop believing such nonsense: did "Hangover 1" or "Ocean's 11" (original and remake) make even a little scratch on the image of Las Vegas' gambling and hospitality industry? Do the tourists shy away from Japan because of the Godzilla movies? Was tourism in Australia dealt a killing blow after "Crocodile Dundee 2" was made?

"Bangkok Dangerous" was a much better movie than "Hangover 2" and did a much better job of painting a very dark image of Bangkok (you call it "appealing": we must have seen different versions of that movie then. From memory, I remember an assasination on a busy crossroad, pickpockets, someone being drowned in his (or a hotel's) swimming pool, a garish murder on the floating market after a boat chase that left lots of damage in its wake, a bargirl from a G-club tortured in a back room of the club, failed assisination attempt in a quiet street in the evening, wholesale slaughter in an industrial estate). And still I doubt if anyone changed their travel plans because of any of these (or similar) movies.

There have been times I have ventured down the food chain a bit and gone with an intriguing lady I normally would not have given a second look. It is kind of like experiencing a fast food [I]sneak[/I] in an otherwise healthy diet. I found that the dynamic totally changes and you become the desirable hottie; while she is extra flattered by the attention and considers herself fortunate to have gotten the business.
