The scene, not only in Colombo but also in all other populous areas is not shrinking but growing. The options are so varied. For instance, there are many Siamese places advertising openly whereas such places were undercover operations during the heyday.
The downside is scams too have kept pace with industry growth, with more and more people taking to social media. Apart from this, the asking rates have gone up, but that is only to be expected with the rising cost of living.
So, though the industry has grown, it is like a minefield. You have to tread carefully.
Never pay beforehand. Don't fall for verification scams, wherein you are asked to part of the price for verification. Pay only when you are in the room, ready for action. Even then, do not pay and go to the bathroom. If it is not a known provider, she may take the money and vanish when you are in the bathroom. Also, if you pick her up, do not pay in the vehicle. She could even take you to a place claiming she knows it, get off the car asking you to park properly, and vanish with the money.
Don't share your pics before and even after meeting, as they could be used to blackmail you. She may act in cahoots with a guy.
Some girl ads may have a hairy rough guy behind it, not a dainty dream woman as in the pic.
A lot of Indian ads are there and they will ask you to make a booking paying into an Indian bank account before the action which obviously will never take place.
If you are circumspect and have some disposable income, the scene will still be good. Your old-time contact will still charge you a reasonable amount due to the relationship you have built with her.
Also, if you cherry-pick amongst advertisements which quote low rates, you might still get a gem. It is a hit and miss sub-scene.
So you have to be like a test batsman, not a T10 whacker.
