Mai Khao Beach is actually north of the airport. This is quite a distance from the nightlife in Patong, over 40 kilometers (about 25 miles). While this is doable on a motorbike, it is a very long drive. Almost an hour each way. I would not recommend this at night after a few drinks. Additionally, if you are on a motorbike and it starts to rain, then you are in big trouble.

I have done the Kata Beach to Patong drive on a motorbike dozens of times and it's great even late at night, but that's only a 10 kilometer drive.

A taxi is a better option, but it will cost around 1000 baht each way (I have never done this myself but basing it on the fact that taxis are easily 900 baht from Patong to the airport). A tuk-tuk might be less expensive although I am not certain, but I wouldn't even consider a tuk-tuk for such a long drive.

While I am sure that there are plenty of massage parlors in the area where you can get a good shag, you are not in a good location night-life-wise. If you are looking for night-life I would suggest you reconsider your choice of resort and get something closer to the action if at all possible.

I am sure there are night-life options in downtown Thalang (15 kilometers / 9 miles from Mai Khao) but it will not be comparable to Patong at all.

It is a very cool place, with very narrow roads where one can get lost, but not for long, many restaurants, bars, dive shops, little shops, etc, ATMs, and even cybershops. Many standard massage shops.

(1) Ask the staff at the hotel for local massage parlors.

(2) Rent a motorbike and drive around the neighborhood. You are bound to find some massage parlors.

(3) There are for sure some small massage parlors in the area around the airport, only a couple of kilometers away from your resort.

(4) Book a massage at the spa in your resort. You might find a cute girl who wants to add to her 300 baht daily salary.

(5) If your hotel can offer in-room massage, try that to. Sometimes negotiating extras are easier in the privacy of your hotel room rather than in a treament room in the spa.

If I was interested in going to some regular clubs, like night clubs for dancing, with regular girls and perhaps some FLs, as opposed to Patong, where are these located?

And, is it generally safe to go there looking to meet someone if respectful about doing so?
